-Her tension slackens-
Alright.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? He told me that... that he was afraid. Afraid of a lot of things. And that sometimes, he wished he didn't have to go out into the world. He wished he could stay in his own mind, like I was. But he needed to, because there were people counting on him that he cared for. People who told him he was a good person, even if he didn't think he was.
...
Then I told him the daemon's name, and we sent him away forever.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? He saved me from having my body become a conduit for the Warp. And then he gave me somewhere to live. And he helped me make friends, and fix pipes and all the normal person things.
Because he wanted me to be happy, and he wanted me to tell him he was a good person. That's why he did this for you. That's what he wants from you.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything?I didn't realise you were you. Normally, he's just... himself. Or a different himself.
What if there’s no better word than just not saying anything? There once was kid, he wasn't very popular with the others. Scrawny, weak, bad hair. He never had much in life, and wasn't much good at anything. So he decided to join the army, to join the Elite corps to prove himself.
He failed outright. Became just a grunt, the other grunts even made fun of him. He got into fights everyday. But there was one person that always believed in him. He was an Elite, he was skilled strong and most of all nice. He didn't need to pay the grunt any attention at all. But for whatever reason he did, they became friends the best of friends. They even got to go on a few missions together.
Then the day came for them to go on a mission together to the grunt's hometown, alongside their commander no less. The grunt was ashamed and hid his face. But there was a secret lying in the town. One that should have never been unearthed. The Commander found it, it drove him mad, made him evil. He burnt the place to the ground. The Grunt and The Elite had to work together to stop him, they just barely survived.
Afterwards they were captured by a wizard. The wizard was an evil man, and tortured them day and for four years. The Grunt nearly broke but that whole time but the Elite kept encouraging him. They only had each other. One day, they broke out, but the wizard's torture left The Grunt unable to move. So The Elite carried the grunt as far as he could.
As it turns out the Wizard worked for the army. And they sent men chase after them. But they couldn't run forever. So that Elite soldier set his friend down to fight. He lost. The Grunt couldn't move, so the army left him.
I wonder how The Grunt felt when he could finally get up.
