Yeah, but...
Thing is, the Turks pick you up because they notice certain things about you. You don't get hired and then show them how good you are.
When it comes to the technical stuff, I'd probably make a decent Turk. I can pick locks, I can conceal just about any weapon you can throw at me, I can take out a target without making a mess, I can spot talent in the field.
It's not just that, though. There's — there's other things.
Nobody says it out loud, but the "Department of Administrative Research" doesn't just scout for Soldier candidates and spy. They do other stuff. Assassinations, kidnappings, cover-ups... anything that Shinra knows better than to be involved with in the eyes of the public.
Tactical mass murder, when push comes to shove and Soldier is too visible. Like Sector 7.
If I'm given orders, I'll be expected to follow them. No one ever leaves the Turks except in a bodybag.

Why would you ask that?
The Turks are the ones that drag in defectors and supervise genocides and interrogate prisoners and make sure whoever's locked in Hojo's funbox doesn't get too uppity. Soldier's not much better, but if Soldier's what razes a city to the ground, the Turks are the ones that go around and cut the throats of any survivors.

It's weird. Usually I'm the first to wake around here.
