The first I've heard of it was from Gila. Today.
Yeah. Real famous, old, and decorated. Lost all my medals, though, not that they're important.
Commander called me in one day. Said that he wanted me to do something all on my own. Said okay. He goes on about it and I figure out pretty fast it's just some revenge thing. Wanted me to take out some old girlfriend of his who cheated on him or something. Might've stolen all his money, too. Don't remember.
Told him that no, sir, you can shove that right back up your ass. I'm not a hitman for your personal shit. And he realized that I'd probably yell up at his bosses, which he couldn't have. Stripped me of my rank, then called in the people who used be under my command. Didn't tell them why, just told them to kill me. They didn't have a choice. There were five of them. Chevalier, Lighthouse, Bulwark, Mahogany, Sarissa. We've all got stupid names like that.
I'm a better fighter than them. Older, more experienced. But there were five of them, and I wasn't going to kill any of them. They're good people. I fended them off, but they cut my arm off. Broke my sternum, my ribs. Cracked a bunch of my vertebrae. Snapped my legs in half. Then the Colonel had them throw me out on the wayside. Guess he didn't want to watch me die.
-Looks up, strangely violently given her current weakness-
Noot.
Fiiah not good. Hiiah not noooooo. Baht. Fiah not good.
Fiiah iss iiting. All-iiting. [A sudden loud noise from her wings]ing.
-Pauses, then relaxes slightly-
Iss okei. Hiiah not noo. Diffah to Tssuk-Hri. Baht.
Kihwa llerrning Ingrish. Uuen noo Inngrish. Kihwa lerrning yuuu.
(His eyes widen to where you can see his sclera a little.)
...oh, that's... awful. is this... common, in the military...?
Awesome. Well, I'll see you then, and I hope you both do well until then. Let me know if you need anything~
(Heads back down.)

make it through this year if it kills you yet | 2001-2019

Nothin' to worry about.
...A lot of things. They just keep piling up.
I live in a constant state of fear and misery.
