...Some of the things she told me about her people match with your description of them: Magical in nature, hedonistic, a tendency to toy with humans...But there are some stark differences.
She claims that her people and humanity have been at open war for some time. A form of retaliation against mankind for attempting to harness their magic for themselves. They fight by trapping humans in labyrinths and putting them through lethal trials. Their hedonism is a biological need, and boredom brings them physical harm. Slavery, she says, is not something that entertains them.
She herself claims to be vehemently against the war, and says she would serve as a guide to humans attacked and placed in these labyrinths she talks about.
