The locks I use are based on making it hard to escape because of the anatomy-

Otherwise- with machines, I might as well forget the difference between non-lethal and lethal force.
Find a nearby heavy object or some other bludgeoning device, and destroy the vital components.

Usually technology helps.
With intimidation you can't afford to bluff. Bluffing never lasts long, it's a last-ditch attempt.
You have to have control of the situation- If I'm in an alley and a machine comes up with a gun- I have to remove the gun.
If it still resists- then I have to prove that I am stronger than it- that I am the one calling the shots in that situation.
