-shrugs-
-to Lifty and the Orz- Swordplay is like chess. There are simple, universal maneuvres that everyone knows, that can be combined to form more complex manueuvres that one can bend to their own style. You can't just push all the strong pieces onto the field and hope it works; you have to plan your attack, glean your opponent's strategy as you fight to find a hole in their defenses.
But before you can do any of that, you have to know what each piece does.
So. I guess we'll start with movements. A horizontal cut should look like this. -Shows him- Notice how I use not only my arms, but my wrists in directing the blade. That's because the sword is an extension of yourself. You should move as though it is. It's not a baseball bat. Every movement should travel outwards, from your shoulder to the tip of the blade.

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist-nods- Good, although try to relax your arms a bit. However, you should pick a spot to stop at, and stop there. You moved your arm all the way around, and you need to pay attention to your follow-through. You don't want your own blade behind you when your arm is in front of you, not to mention it's a safety hazard. -Shows him again-

MY SOUL IS DARK BUT MY HAIR IS COLORFUL — Brahian Pokémon Alchemist-Some tall grass appears in the room...-
NoLegs: ... That is obviously suspicious... I think we should keep away.
If you're a LoL player, you'd knwo what happens if someone does go too close. And for those who don't play LoL, I'll say he's showed up before, during a point at which no one was in the room.

IT'S A POKEYMEN!
-imitates Cloud with his battlemech-
He'll be in the battlemech during his instance in the room until further notice. It's not that big
◊.

*sub-consciously rubs at the scars on one arm*
"Yup. That tasted purple."
