I have an excuse. I woke up in 2015, after being asleep since the 800s. Johnny Boy doesn't. He's 17, and reads books on archaeology for fun. Apart from video games, anyway. But that's usually because of his brothers.
I have seen plenty of movies... I just don't quote them.
I have probably heard that line on the internet though.
Because it is incredibly familiar. I think it's a French Cult movie... Mal Mort.
Or in English- Evil Dead.

1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this post-nods- Yes... though- as- Aelfi pointed out... I know more about the popular culture of 13th Century england than I do modern-day pop culture outside of video games and tabletop roleplaying games... Well- passing familiarity for the most part. Like I do know an adaptation when I see one.
It's weird. I think he couldn't possibly know a saga that i'm referencing and then bam. He even says where in the saga it is.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postYes, exactly. It's about confidence for the most part. I got a tattoo of one of my favorite video game organizations. Like- the in-universe fictional organization.
It's like- right here. -taps his upper right arm, near the shoulder-
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postOh- it's uh. An organization tasked with fighting extra-terrestrial threats. Earth's first and last defense against alien invasion. That sort of pickle.
In later games they get more pro-active and liberate other alien species from tyrannical regimes... though the recent one kinda had them as a resistance movement in a "What if they won their invasion of earth!" kind of thing.
It's a strategy game.
