Its' a genetic trait, rare, but it gives the owner a distinct advantage. If they are able to put themselves into a magical trance through the help of herbs or other substances- they are able to see the strands of time- all possibilities and divergences that lie ahead, as well as one that seems the "most likely", but that's all still probability.
In other words- they predict the future, most of them go into fortune telling, but because of how convoluted the view is- they usually only offer vague promises, and advice on the best path, usually aiming to avoid one particular point of divergence rather than all of them.
I read up on them whilst familiarizing myself with some basic research into the paranormal, so that I wouldn't be entirely caught off-guard by street-level magicians.

But I very much doubt... well.
It's not beyond the reach of possibility- but I'd be very surprised if it was.
