Let me tell you how much conviction I have- y'know, Little Bird picks us Magical Girls because he believes we have the capability to change the world. Some of us don't have our ambitions yet, need to find purpose, some of us have hopes rather than drives. I'm one of the ones that already has a wish and a drive to accomplish it.
There are quite a lot of us competing. A whole lot of us. In the Realm of Ambition.
And basically- we compete in the game Little Bird lays out. And there can be only one winner.
Which- of course- I want to be me. All Little Bird ever offered was the chance to make our dreams realized- and this game is that chance.

I say chance 'cause- disqualification is either through death, or the destruction of what's called- the Passport- by another magical girl.
And the Passport is basically how we travel in-between the Realm of Ambition and the real world.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postHey- when your goal's world-peace, it's certainly better to kill a few magical girls who have smaller and more selfish aspirations like "I want Senpai to notice me" or "I want my family to live peacefully" than to let some old assholes sitting around on piles of cash and weapons decide war is the better option.
1.5 imperial gallons of tea were consumed during the writing of this postA long time ago, when humans were just discovering magic, there wasn't any rules or regulations. And one group, who's name has been lost, decided they were going to find the secret to immortality. They experimented with creatures that didn't seem mortal. Spirtis, demons, wraiths, and the like. Eventually they had amassed a veritable army of the creatures. Everyone else got scared.
So scared humans do what do best and tried to destroy them. But the army got out, and it wasn't happy. Together the spirits started to destroy the world. That was until a magus in black armor bound them to a child. A small girl who he would raise to control them, away from society.
-had not stopped on that puzzle the whole time-
