Why are the anti-SOS so intent on Kyon if he's a nobody?
Why does Yuki value Kyon so highly?
Why couldn't Mikuru or Haruhi have drawn those chalk lines? (In general, why is is so important to Haruhi to have Kyon trace out her patterns?)
Why does Itsuki want to make Kyon an esper?
All roads lead to Kyon.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Agreed.
He is important to Sasaki. That is enough.
He is important to Yuki herself. And, before that, to Haruhi.
Mikuru must not interfere. She said as much. Beside, Kyon is important to Haruhi and that fateful meeting is what set up the whole existence of the SOS Brigade (including its name). If it was Mikuru, things would have happened differently.
What the hell you are talking about? And since when Itsuki can control who is and who is not an Esper, anyway?
Kyon is not exactly a nobody, as the (potentially) two most important girls in the world value him. This alone put him in the center of the happenings and, therefore, enhanced his own importance. He doesn't need to be 'special' to be 'important'.

Yeah, I thought the idea was that Kyon was so special BECAUSE he was so ordinary, yet he's capable of controlling Haruhi
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelWell, the real question is why the Anti-SOS thinks getting Kyon on their side is the key to giving Sasaki Reality Warping powers. And, well, why Sasaki would be a candidate in the first place. Regardless of whether or not Kyon is "god", his position is certainly extremely suspicious in this whole thing.

if you think about it
kyon is the only neutral party in the sos brigade
everyone else is affiliated with haruhi
its a long shot for the anti-sos brigade to get kyon
but there seems to be no other way than to get allies to get the power
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Well, I suppose the question is why they think they need allies in the first place. And if Kyon is an ally, what exactly can he do for them?
to negotiate with haruhi to give the power to sasaki
or be a spy
or join their side so haruhi gets pissed or something
i dont think nagaru tanigawa stated violence is the key
kyon is the "key"

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Given that Haruhi herself can't control it, the idea him somehow "negotiating" for it seems laughable to me. And clearly it can be stolen without her will anyway, as has already been demonstrated. Not to mention the whole "it originally belonged to Sasaki" thing.
I dunno, all signs point to him being the "key" to the power in a much more literal way than we had previously believed.
remember that bamboo chapter
i think that was kyon's "key" power
telling he came from the future to meet haruhi will totally blow her mind
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone? And how does this result in Sasaki getting the powers instead? "Blowing Haruhi's Mind" is certainly a trump card he has, but it doesn't let him do whatever he wants. Recruiting Kyon is something even the nameless time traveler reluctantly participated in; more than just "the only thing we can do" it's pretty clear that he's central to the whole scheme.
That said, I don't think Kyon is God. I don't Haruhi is God either though. That theory has gotten way too much popularity. I just think he's the key in some rather more direct way.

Saying "Haruhi is God" is easy shorthand for "Haruhi is subconciously a Reality Warper on a universal scale."
Just so long as people know the difference.
#IceBearForPresidentShe's not necessarily that either.
it doesnt explain everything thats sci fi or supernatural in haruhi then
the movie arc makes it clear haruhi does possess powers
also why is koizumi that interested in haruhi (yes it is implied he has a crush on her
but if its like that hes a drama queen)
i think haruhi is a terrible god
thats all

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Note the giant lampshade that starts with the first moment in the series.
Kyon introduces himself as Mr. Rational and Haruhi as a wild unnatural force.
Itsuki gets right in Kyon's face and tells him over and over again that the rational Universe does not match to Haruhi's nature. And Kyon has some sort of mental block that keeps him from ever considering this point.
Kyon has granted his two goddess a tiny fraction of his power, but if they ever went head to head he would shut them down. (The Shat style, if no other way.)

"Show us the Galaxy Warp."You're still missing the point of what everyone has been saying.
And it's also been repeatedly established that the world is orderly because Haruhi for the most part doesn't really believe that supernatural things exist. A tiny part of her does, which is why the Brigade members aren't ordinary humans, but for the most part, deep down she doesn't believe. She wants to very much - but for the most part she doesn't.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.we must also note the "three years ago" crap
it has not been established whether kyon is part of that unknown event
only our Black Hole Sue is part of it
there isnt much evidence to say kyon is actually the god and not haruhi

This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Fine, then why the lampshade?
However if Haruhi is not God, then what is she actually doing and why?

"Show us the Galaxy Warp."A lampshade hanging is when the author draws your attention to something. It can be merely to handwave something or it can seamlessly set the tone and aid narrative flow.
It's also basically what Kyon thinks at the time and personally I think Kyon's struggle with rationality has little to do with Haruhi's (Reality Warping aside), unless it does.
To put it another way I think the Lampshade hanging tells us about Kyon while the struggle between rationality, the nature of the universe and imagination tells us about Haruhi.
So basically:
Q: "What's with Endless Eight?"
A: It's something they did to screw Haruhi fans with...

...a little brother should belong to his older sister, right? - Orimura ChifuyuSo everybody agrees that:
A: The series is at its heart a consideration of the conflict between rationally and chaos.
and
B: In this fight, rationally is powerless and chaos rules all.
Hmmm, are you sure this ain't Lovecraft?
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."haruhi ftaghnsdawlk n'lyeh
um no
its just a silly sci fi work
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Eeeh, no.
Have you missed all Itsuki's endless talks about Haruhi's rational side? The only reason the world is how it is, according to Itsuki, is because Haruhi's reason ultimately triumphs over her desires. If you take a close look, the whole is a very ordained one. It is just it follow "hidden" logics, instead of of the 'logic' people there are used to.

This show is a measure of Haruhi's Cthulhu powerz: what comes after endless eight?
