The engine for 3 is still around, but the company folded so the technology is probably lost. They showed some footage of the space battles, going from the ground battle on Coruscant to the space battle in orbit, and some FMV's showing a guy fighting with a cortosis blade. Basically it looked like the original games but upgraded for next gen stuff.
Simultaneous space and land battles sounds like a great idea, especially if there's a bit of overlap for how they function.
Capital ships with different interiors would be nice as well.
I remember using HK-47's Jedi killing methods to go through Knightfall on elite without dying once. I felt like a grade A badass after that.
Ah, Battlefront 3. One can only dream about the possibilities. Dark Sith Lord Obi-Wan, anyone?
Just found a copy of the first game on PS 2, good times. Too bad it can't load Rhen Var: Citadel without freezing on the loading screen, that was one of my favorite levels.
I doubt it.
I'd like to see Battlefront 3 Made still. If they could bring it up to date with current FP Ss, it could do amazing. They can't just rip-off call of duty though(Even as amazing as an X-wing playing harrier would be). I think multi player maps should be similar to battle feild, with objecties, but with a major differnce. There would be a number of structures that can let you eventually call in support. For example, there could by a Comm station that lets you over-ride enemy jamming, and call in either orbital bombardment, or Bombers to do a sweep of an area. I'd get in more detail but I'm rather tired.

I remember getting so excited for that.
I learned with SWTOR- don't always get excited by Art work. It's a shit load to buy, 15 bucks a month, and Its built like KOTOR with co-op and raids. Yea, no thanks. I could buy KOTOR 1, 2, fallout, and tons of other single player games instead. Or put it in that bank. Yay, another 5 minutes at college!
3 on the cover of Game Informer?
A Star Wars Battlefront set in the Old Republic would be great, by the way. As long as they don't make it too similar to the movies era in terms of technology, using the style of the comics instead (not just the recent KOTOR comics, but the earlier ones like The Golden Age of the Sith)
Spark Unlimited developing 3?
Oh yes, this is looking VERY promising, looks like it may finally be true. Finally something to wean me off of my Terraria and Battlefield 3 addiction!
Except Spark Unlimited developed two TERRIBLE games (Turning Point and Legendary).
...Why'd you have to go and dash my hopes Jonah?
Theres not much to screw up unless they re-start from nothing. From what I've read, most of the game was done by the time the company collasped, it just needed polishing and final finishes to be published.
Legendary was bad??? really?
I hope its not them. If the game gets made, I want it to be good.
I want a battlefront 3 so bad.
I loved using the flying-bike-thingy on Kashyyk. I didn't even shoot, I just rammed the enemy infantry and tanks alike. Oh? Didn't I tell you? You can stick mines on those. I went ape shit insane with engineers on that map, I could one-hit pretty much anything.

My friend does that all the time. Except on battlefield, and with fighter planes.
I would purposely run my Cloud Car out of HP just so that it would crash land into some poor sod. Complete with Clone Roll away from the blast.
Once in a battlefield LAN I effectively used a jet as a weapon. The jet itself. It barely did anything, apart from startling some folks. Never used mines in a special way in battlefield yet tho.
I used to love attaking AT-ATs in SWBF2. One of my favourite ways to kill them would be to place a helluva lot of mines on a snowspeeder and kamikaze.

Y'know, the more I think about the more and more I figure that Empire At War was essentially the idea of making an RTS out of Battlefront. Several gameplay mechanics cross over, and I just realized that the Galactic Conquest modes are fundamentally very similar.
This came from the thought that, when 3 comes around, they should totally make Galactic Conquest even better.
Also, amp up the friendly AI's intelligence, especially in multiplayer.
I shouldn't be the only thing saving us from a horrific landslide loss, thank you very much.

I loved Battlefront 2, I just wished it had more control over the options. Allocating resources like fleets and troops, actual strategy to land battles (attacking a better defended position for a bigger reward or taking lesser positions to surround the enemy), using bonuses to unlock elite squads for individual fights, stuff like that.
I'm optimistic for Battlefront 3, but I'm afraid it won't be able to live up to the hype I have for a next-gen Battlefront game.
