Since discussions of it are cropping up out of Tabletop Games, here's an all-purpose thread for players and GM's.
I've decided that there are two characters I want to play at some point in the future: a slightly creepy Genki Girl necromancer, and a showy, flamboyant bard. I blame the media for both.
After the issues with the last game I played as a player, I now want to get into Dming the only problem is I have never dm'd before.
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans. The most challenging part of DMing is information management. Just start a game or pick a premade module, then improve the problems you've encountered as you go along. If you start out trying to be the best DM possible from the get go, you'll drown in all the possible caveats you learn naturally otherwise and it will be a disappointing experience.
@Tom: I refuse to read the advice of a hypocrite! XD
@Steve: My one tip is don't get newbie players as a newbie DM. I tried it, it was terrible. Find players that are experienced and cooperative, so that they can help you help them help us all.
My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son.Sorry for double-post, but this thread needs a BUMP!
I've come across a few complaints (and apparently even one from Shelly Mazzanoble, whom I normally adore but not at the moment) that you can't play a Vampire (Whatever Class). What's the deal? It takes literally ONE feat choice to effectively make a Vampire character with another class. Just play a Vryloka with the Vampire Bloodline feat, and say it's a Vampire. The Dhampyr Blood Drain is the main Vampire mechanic, right there, in a different form. Not only that, but you can take some Vryloka racial powers, and flesh (heh) out the rest of the Dhampyr feat tree if you want even more Vampirism.
Mechanically, you won't be shattering the game by playing two classes at once, but you'll still get all the delicious, bloodsucking flavour of playing a Vampire. It's the perfect solution* !
Is this really too difficult to grasp?

Sorry mate, I only run offline as of yet. Maptools is complex.
