Fanfic Ideas You're Sure Only You Think Are Good

Minerva Mink wishes that Wilford Wolf was his handsome self all the time, so she goes to a local witch to make it happen. The witch, who has heard of how shallow Minerva is, agrees to do so, on one condition - Minerva must date Wilford for the next month, and must do so BEFORE the next full moon. Reluctantly, Minerva agrees - and to her surprise actually finds herself liking Wilford in his nerdy form.

So, what do we think?

Also, I'm thinking of eventually revealing that Wilford's parents are pretty well-off (Daddy's an oil tycoon, Mom's the heir to a world famous resort chain), but Minerva doesn't learn this until long after her Character Development kicks in and she starts liking Wilford for who he is.

I'm not even into romance in general and I'm already hooked. Where can I read this?

I'm writing a Pokemon Super Fic taking place in a region I'm creating. The protagonist is an Intrepid Reporter assembling a super team to fight the legendary Pokemon, all the while working to overcome her past and her trust issues. The standard game-plot formula gets subverted, exploited, and generally played with. It's also a bit of a Stealth Sequel to Sun and Moon, with a subplot or two dealing with the Ultra Beasts, and continuing Guzma's character arc.

A fanverse consisting of different school-related anime with this ensemble group of villains:

Here's another one for the mine of ideas that I'll likely never get around to writing! :V

The idea was a Fatal Fury/Final Fight crossover, which also serves as a pseudo-sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves (the thus-far final game in the Fatal Fury series) as Geese Howard is still dead, and it continues Terry, Rock and Kain's story arcs and re-introduces some other classic Fatal Fury characters who didn't appear in Garou, such as Ryuji Yamazaki and Billy Kane. Meanwhile, the Final Fight half of the crossover takes a Broad Strokes approach to its relationship with the Street Fighter series; for the most part, it's divorced from Street Fighter's continuity and characters from that series are not referenced in any way, but the status of certain Final Fight characters reference development that happened in those games (for instance, Cody is now the mayor of Metro City, which was established in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition).

As far as the story goes, in the aftermath of Garou, Kain manages to take over Southtown and lobbies for the city to become a special administrative region, a la Hong Kong, and invites Cody over to the city in the hopes of convincing him of his Darwinian ideology and supporting his plan, hoping to trigger a wave of social-darwinist city-states all over the country. Meanwhile, the Mad Gear Gang is reformed - albeit somewhat under duress - under the leadership of a mysterious new villain, and they set out to Southtown in the hopes of assassinating Cody. Cody initially teams up with Kain to protect himself, but changes his mind once he runs into (and fights, natch) Terry Bogard, who reveals to him the truth of what's really going on.

Oh yes, and the 'mysterious new villain' who leads the new Mad Gear turns out to be an arms dealer called Rugal Bernstein, further complicating the continuity thing. :V Simply put, the story would treat this as Rugal's introduction to the Fatal Fury characters, and his backstory is changed so he no longer encounters Goenitz and gets the Orochi power; he's just a really powerful bloke who's a bit full of himself.

It's just occurred to me after having typed this up that pretty much all the main characters would be blonde. :V That's one reason I'm uncertain about its viability, another being that there'd either be too much fighting or not enough fighting. And there'd also be multiple character deaths on both sides.

I'm always surprised to remember that, few though they may be, there do exist other people who ship Mew/Celebi. But I might be the only one who ships them without gendering them. You could at least write something other than male Mew / female Celebi some of the time.

Anyway, here's another idea I had. This time it's a Transformers fic:

Streetwalker Seeker - After being disowned by his family and evicted from his home, Starscream finds himself unable to find work. In desperation, he becomes a streetwalker in the Red Light District of Cybertron, and life becomes more complicated when he not only gets pregnant, he's forced to 'work' while sick. Who'd have thought that passing out in the arms of his latest 'client' would change his life forever? Megatron isn't looking for much - just a one-night frag. But when the pretty red streetwalker who approaches him passes out in his arms, for some inexplicable reason he finds himself taking the unconscious Seeker back to his home and nursing him back to health. For even more inexplicable reasons, he finds himself asking his new 'house-mate' to stay with him permanently. For the most inexplicable reason of all, he finds himself falling in love with the streetwalker Seeker - and vice versa.

Hmmm...maybe this would work best as a Shattered Glass fic. What do you guys think?

Another fanfic idea:

Metroid Prime Hunters in the style of BFDI.

The contestants are all eight hunters plus the three from Prime 3, Dark Samus, Ridley and Kraid, Mother Brain, Phantoon, Draygon, a generic Pirate, a generic Warrior Ing, and a Metroid. The announcer is Gorea. Instead of the viewers voting, the characters do. The prize is the “ultimate power” Gorea tells you about at the beginning of Prime Hunters. It’s actually a poorly made Fake Kraid statue.

I had an idea for a Cardcaptor Sakura fanfic that is an AU inspired by old-school Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

A Marvel Cinematic Universe AU where Team Cap is a 1960s rock band being chased by various forces, inspired by the Wings song 'Band on the Run' (which didn't come out until like '73, but hey). It doesn't have enough plot to really be an actual story.

Ooh, what's the plot?! Tell me, tell me, TELL ME!

Essentially, I have two ideas in mind.

One idea is a "story within a story" of Sakura, Li, Tomoyo, Touya, and Yukito playing AD&D with Kero as the Dungeon Master.

The other is a straight-up AU where the characters are an adventuring party. Here are the classes I have in mind....

• Sakura is a Magic-User
• Li is a Fighter
• Tomoyo is a Thief
• Meiling is a Monk
• Touya is a Ranger
• Yukito is a Cleric

Hmmm...I'd say go with the latter.

Trails in the Sky x Darkest Dungeon. Estelle and Joshua are investigating some ruins when they get sucked into a portal. Estelle wakes up in the Hamlet's inn, with Joshua nowhere in sight. She decides to join up with the adventurers hired by The Heir in the hopes of reuniting with her boyfriend and go home. She would be known as "The Bracer" and Joshua would be "The Black Fang".

Mokou, Kaguya, Ran, and Sakuya play through Return To Dream Land. This may be the only fanfic idea that defies logic and established canon in order to get four Touhou characters to play Kirby together, but I actually kind of like the idea.

...the truth is, thanks to Miiverse, I did it for years.

How? Well, I picked up a F2P game called Pokémon Shuffle and enjoyed it. And used my 3DS to post about it. And eventually started drawing about it.

But how did that lead to plots? Well, since it was a Pokemon game in which you form teams with your Pokemon for matching purposes, it was possible to give a personality to each Pokemon in a very Mystery Dungeon-like style. And since the game had frequent event updates, new plotlines were basically handed to me as I considered the implications of each.

For a notable example, one of my longest-running subplots was that of Sableye, a dark-type Crutch Character who was one of the earliest non-Normal Mega Evolutions, but was quickly outshined by later catches. And this obsolescence happened at the same time as the first appearance of Diancie, a fairy-type (fairy > dark) who specialized in making gems, a topic of interest to a canonical jewel-eater like Sableye. Both aspects were played for drama, and eventually the second one wound up turning into a romantic subplot instead. Followed by the introduction of max level upgrades, of which Sableye was one of the first compatible recipients, and he briefly went through Who's Laughing Now? issues before having a Heel Realization and coming to terms with everything.

And when they eventually introduced a Shiny Diancie who happened to be capable of "eating" rocks, much like Sableye...

In short, creativity and the right amount of overthinking can make functional storylines out of the least expected sources. Probably the best story I came up with during my time with that service was a retelling of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask that was expanded from the Adaptation Distillation found in Hyrule Warriors... and taking advantage of the fact that Skull Kid was able to be the playable character.

(Least pragmatic idea I had on there? Probably having a plot arc about Picross...)
