How badly am I failing biology?

OK, so I've got this race that's a little odd, what with the boys being on average shorter than the girls by about a foot(the word "male" doesn't exist on the world). You may have heard about them before from my other threads. They're descendants of reptiles that have gained human-like traits such as becoming bipedal. Now here's the question, on a whim (and pure Author Appeal) I decided to have the girls produce about a third of their bodies' blood within their breasts which means that they need to have some cleavage exposed in order to sun themselves and warm-up their bodies. Another third is produced in their legs and the rest is produced elsewhere on their bodies. This has the odd side effect of making their milk very sweet, depending on their blood sugar levels. Unfortunately, this also means that breast cancer is usually fatal for them. DX

So, have I written myself into a corner and doomed these girls to a bizarre lifestyle or does this sound plausible?

I don't know enough about biology but yeah I think you've exposed like five different fetishes there.

And I'm not ashamed to admit to them. I just found it to be an amusing way to justify the girls wearing revealing tops (I'm not too into women showing off a lot of leg, though).

There are a couple of problems with this, namely the fact that blood is produced in the bone marrow. That, and reptiles don't got boobs.

Yeah, I know that. Let's just assume this race followed a slightly different evolutionary path. My question regarding failing biology was more about plausibility, not accuracy.

But Sand, having breasts is the definition of a mammal. Mammaries. Different evolutionary path doesn't begin to cover it.

And yeah, blood is not produced in soft tissue. It's produced in bone marrow.

Were there? The only thing that comes to my mind is the platypus and echidna, who are reptile-like mammals.

So to answer the question in the title - Very badly. tongue

I can think of mammal-like reptiles other than crazy Australian stuff — but they lived in Triassic, or what was that period's name, and I have completely no idea how their biology worked.

You haven't said how you're going to address the blood thing.

I actually did in the OP: A third in their breasts, a third in their legs, and the last third is produced in other places on the body. This is, after all, another planet and so they probably have Bizarre Alien Biology.

No, but - two people have pointed out that blood is produced by stem cells in the bone marrow. Unless your breasts have bones, I don't see how they can produce blood. Breasts are mainly modified sweat glands and fat tissue.

Also, Mammal like reptiles still don't have breasts from what I recall. The platypus and its cousins do, but as we've have established they're not that close (not in appearance anyway) to reptiles.

Also, do these things have scales and such? Why do they look like a human aside from that fact that they were created by you, an author who is most likely human?

They're apparently not not warm-blooded so in what ways are they like reptiles and in what ways are they like humans?

They're actually carnivores and thus their teeth are sharpened for the hunt but I don't believe that's that could be applied to either specifically. They've got tougher skin and stronger bones. They've also got forked tongues for tasting the air. They're like humans, though, in that they don't always need to sun themselves but it does help. They also breastfeed their young

Wait, so are they warm-blooded or cold-blooded?

Yeah, Mammal Like Reptiles had no breasts, not to my knowledge. Most likely, they were just like warm blooded reptiles with fur or something. So not only do you fail biology, but this story also sounds like vehicle for some fetishes I am not comfortable with.

You know, warmblooded just means 'able to regulate their own temperature without help from the environment'.

Yeah I'm pretty sure you just earned yourself an F- -

Almost every part of the description of these creatures is wrong in some small way.

Well at least the girls look like normal humans. The boys look like short stick figures with large heads. But that's probably because I suck at drawing men.

but the looking like humans is part of the problem you see. (Well only if you want to be really realistic, which most people don't care for.)

Wait a second, Fridge Horror hit me...how do these...things...mate if there is such a difference in between males and females? Do I honestly want to know?

Ok, it probably has three more of Josieph's fetishes in it...

It's only really a height difference between the two sexes. Everything is still there more or less.

So, lemme get this straight: the males are tiny, big headed things, and the females are big breasted anthropomorphic reptile women who are always out sunbathing with their breasts exposed.

That's quite some Sexual Dimorphism.

And I will be in my bathroom, dry heaving at the images.
