I will head over to your topic Ninja; I would have done so sooner but I have been in class
Part of it is, I think, that Cygan and I happened to both be online at the same time so a back-and-forth went on for a while.
I don't think they look much like any other universe's lizardpeople in particular. I guess I just don't see very many illustrations.
@ Gacek People think I'm adorable? >_>
They might play a role in the story; I have thought up a lisca character, but I'm unsure what role she will play.
Be not afraid...To be honest, the 'carry eggs around with them' bit is the part I'm most worried is infeasible. But other animals do it, so I figured why not lizards?
Most of them have some device for carrying them, whether it's a belt with pouches or a backpack or a vest with pockets. I can't see how they'd do it otherwise.
It's not that lisca aren't smart enough to wear clothes, or it's somehow not in their culture. It's just that they only wear what they need.
What do you mean by 'cultural improvement', though?

Be not afraid...What I mean is that someone had to invent it first. As far as I know all humans wear clothes, although in many cultures there's barely a loincloth to speak of, that would roughly count as universal. So, I was curious if these vests and belts appear in every lisca culture (because I assume even a solitary species is going to have regional variations of the non-genetic kind).
...that said, I too had in mind this weirdness of carrying the eggs with them. It doesn't sound like they are naturally inclined to make these things, so — cultural improvement, and these tend to be invented by someone. So — is using such a harness purely a personal preference, or are there parts of the world where they aren't known?
After you've answered I think I know how could have the "it's universal" option gone, evolutionarily speaking: some pre-lisca came up with the idea of carrying eggs with her, like, say, the early hominids came up with tools, and it stuck. Later the full-blown lisca made the harnesses for it. Whether vests or belts would be the regional difference.
[/incoherent rambling]

I'm not complaining my ideas don't get as much comments as him, I'm complaining that the idea I have been tweaking for months has exactly zero replies. And to rub salt in the wound, three people besides me helped me come up with a name for my world. In about a half hour, when the thread on my Shade idea has been up for about 22 hours.
AN Yway, back on topic, do the lizardmen happen to look like any other lizardfolk with established art?
