This isn't even the only page that does this is it? I distinctly remember another gore-related page having an unrelated image.
Anyway, I agree, all, for lack of a better term, Relax-o-Vision images need to go.

This is a terrible image. Those kittens aren't even that cute. We'll need something much cuter.
If we can't have an image on the page, that's one thing, but this has to go.
Infinite Tree: an experimental story![]()

As far as I know, this is the only page with an image that is completely unrelated to the trope. Nightmare Face used to have a picture of a kitten face, and Blood Bath has a picture of Marilyn Monroe taking a bubble bath (although the consensus seems to be that an actual example would be better
). Whether or not it is ever a good idea to have a "like this, but not" image, this one isn't even that, it is just something else.
What about a comparison of two comic book covers, like this one
(the one on the left) contrasted with a Silver Age cover like this
, showing another Green Lantern in a vaguely similar situation (i.e., getting beaten by a space babe) decades earlier?
The recent cover is still relatively mild (and at least every comic book cover would be designed with the idea that kids might see it), but obviously there's a difference.

Jet-a-Reeno!Well, maybe in the other order, but that would definitely work.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyOh, yeah, the idea would be a vertical two-shot, with the Silver Age cover on top, the modern one following.
Jet-a-Reeno!The reason I put the kitten up was because I was worried an actual example would scare some people away from this site ("Great, first they gross me out with Fetish Fuel, and now this."). But if a proper picture isn't too gross, it could still work.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Something similar to the picture we have on gorn would work well.
and that's how Equestria was made!Running with that idea, but with the direct inspiration for the latter page, and with the latter in its full-page art, preserving the original composition:
It can be a lot smaller than that though on the page. maybe 200 pixels across.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!![]()

I wouldn't do that, myself - I think it's more important to preserve the original composition. I know everybody might not share the same concerns, but "unnecessary overcropping" is one of the things that Just Bugs Me.
Shimaspawn explains it well, too. I don't like to do that sort of thing unless it's absolutely necessary (e.g., to make lettering legible.)

Jet-a-Reeno!By the way, mentioning the "if the lettering is messed up" problem made me realize the above image is a pretty crappy scan. Here's a better one:
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:

This is not even a dissimile. It is just a picture of something else. What do you think?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
