There is a lot of distasteful accusations of this trope. The trope is phrased in such a way as to frame any depiction of a light skinned black person as racist.

But there are lots of light skinned black people in the Western world. This is because they have, in the past, mixed with white people, and the fact that this trope gets plastered onto anything with pale black person is a bad thing, because it's framed as a negative. What are casting directors supposed to do, only use the darkest black people they can find?

"Do. Not. Seek. The treasure.""We. Thought. You was. A toad.""...DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE."

But Not Too Black. It always helps to link to the trope so people can see what you are talking about.

Can you also give examples of racist usage?

Edit to add: TRS discussion

I think the page needs some attention. Anyone else want to weigh in?
