Shalour City - Yesterday
-Herbert's gaze remains fixated on the waterfront.-
Herbert: ...I guess I should be grateful for that much, then.
-He gives a stretch and looks back at Lyuri and Duke.-
Herbert: So, training. I take it that we're pretty much finished for the evening, then?
Shalour City - Today
-Herbert is asleep against the outside wall of the Pokemon Center. Again. You'd think that he would've learnt his lesson after last night, but apparently not.-
Shalour City - Yesterday
Herbert: Well, considering that you called off our last fight before I could actually win, then I wouldn't be opposed to a rematch.
-He looks over at Lyuri and raises an eyebrow.-
Herbert: Oh, you did? We've met, as she probably mentioned. Something tells me that the two of you would get along.
Shalour City - Today
-Herbert grunts and murmurs something in his sleep.-
Herbert: No... no, I don't wanna talk about it...
Cyllage City Gym
Part 2 of spag with Tangent and Rex.
Tangerine: 'tis fine, just keep wits up.
...But why am I lecturing you, you have way more badges than me. ^_^;
Forte: Uh, good point.
-the girls reach the top of the climbing course, where Grant waits-
Grant: I've been waiting in eager anticipation! What have I been waiting for? For a worthy challenger to appear! I wasn't expecting two, though... It's quite an achievement to have climbed all the way up here. Very impressive, actually! But trainers must be as physically capable as their Pokémon to achieve true potential, after all.
Forte: Uh... I don't really think so, but okay.
Tangerine: It was kinda fun... do yo umind a 2-on-2 battle?
Grant: Well, you're still young... But I'm sure you'll see differently someday. As for the format, it's not often that challengers double up, but I suppose there's no harm in trying it. It might be good practice for the Maison.
Forte: All right, Shadow, let's do this!
Shadow: <Why me?>
Forte: Because I know you can do it!
Shadow: <Fine.> -takes battle position-
Tangerine: OK then... Cephas! Go on ahead!
Cephas: <Don't screw up don't screw up...>
Grant: Normally I'd use my Aurorus or Tyrantrum, but I feel like mixing things up today. So instead, I'll use these two.
Aerodactyl: <Embrace the fear!>
Shieldon: <My face is the last thing you will see!>
Cephas: <Um... your face is a mirror, so wouldn't that make MY face the last face I see?>
Forte: Use Hidden Power on that Aerodactyl!
Shadow: <Right.>
-Shadow gathers a ball of silvery light, then sends it flying at the Aerodactyl-
Tangerine: Assist with a Rock Blast!
Cephas: <On the bird, right->
-he pulls up some rock shards from the battlefield, and casts them at the Aerodactyl as well-
Shieldon: <...Shut up! Gaze upon the face of fear!>
The Shieldon uses Iron Defense to make his face extremely shiny just to spite Cephas. And also because Grant is wary of a physical attack from said Geodude.
Unfortunately, this leaves the Aerodactyl wide open to two attacks, sending him into the low yellow almost immediately.
Aerodactyl: <Why aren't you afraid?>
The dinosaur decides to Roost on the ground to restore its missing health.
Forte: Hm... Calm Mind!
-Shadow closes his eyes and takes a deep breath-
Tangerine: Forte, can Shadow take an Earthquake?
Forte: Uh, probably. He's pretty tough.
Tangerine: The Earthquake, quick, Cephas!
Cephas: <Sorry, Aerodactyl, we know a cute cousin of yours named Zoltan already.>
-he begins resonating the battlefield into a forceful arena-filling ground wave-
The two Pokémon take the hit, with Shieldon slightly better off due to Iron Defense.
Shieldon: <Urgh... my Sturdiness.>
The Aerodactyl, however, is much worse for the wear, back in low yellow HP!
Aerodactyl: <Argh! How rude.>
He then takes notice of Shadow before flying towards him for a Bite.
Aerodactyl: <You'll be scared when you see what I do to your face.>
Meanwhile, the Shieldon tries to distract Cephas with yolo swag a well-timed Swagger.
-Shadow is first thrown off balance by Cephas' Earthquake, then opens his eyes to find a pair of Aerodactyl jaws right in front of them-
-he attempts to turn, but ends up being bitten on the ear-
Shadow: <Ugh...>
Forte: Don't give up! Hit that Aerodactyl with a Psychic!
Shadow: <...Right.>
-Shadow's forehead gem blinks, and he pushes the Aerodactyl away with a blast of telekinetic force-
Aerodactyl: <Mmrgprmph!>
The Aerodactyl is fortunately too busy (and well-trained) to do something mean like bite off Shadow's ear. However, he isn't trained well enough not to gloat and takes the Psychic to the face.
Aerodactyl: <Eeee!>
He then lands on the ground, unable to continue battling.
Aerodactyl: <Nooo! Your strength... it's scary!>
Tangerine: Good job Shadow! Cephas, Rock Throw the Sheldon?
Cephas: <BEHOLD MY POWER!> -he Judo-flips himself-
Tangerine: ...ouch
Fuego: -watching- <Nooo!>
Forte: Follow up with a Shadow Ball!
Shadow: <On it.>
-Shadow fires a Shadow Spear at the Shieldon-
Shieldon, upon seeing that his Swagger failed, meeps and shrinks backwards.
Shieldon: <N-not in the face! Even if it is the most easily accessible part of my body!>
He then is hit by Cephas and the oddly shaped Shadow Ball before falling over.
Shieldon: <The fear!>
Grant: You have proven to be a wall that I am unable to surmount! That and I seem to have underestimated your Espeon's level. To commemorate such an impressive show of teamwork, please accept the Cliff Badge!
Forte: All right! Thank you!
Shadow: <Well, that wasn't so bad.> -twitches his ear-
Cephas: -lucid again- <Gah, that wasn't right...>
Tangerine: You did fine, Cephas! -she hugs the rock-
-to Grant- Thanks!
Cephas: <ok...>
<You OK, Shadow?>
Forte: Hey, wait a sec! Aren't we supposed to get a TM too?
Shadow: <What does it matter to you? None of us can learn any Rock moves.>
Grant: Ah, right. Here!
-he passes out two TM39s-
Grant: It's Rock Tomb. With this move, a Pokémon can hurl rocks at its target, not only inflicting damage but also lowering the target's Speed and preventing it from moving! I suggest using it to provide yourself with some instant obstacles when bike racing!
-Forte blinks-
Forte: Um... okay. Can we get down now?

Do not fear power... fear those who wield it.Shalour Hotel
-Dune and Deziree are both still asleep, after having an... interesting chase last night. Selene's Pokéball sits on the nightstand, completely wrapped in duct tape and desperately wiggling against its bonds.-
Big Dom: <selene is usually not this active, even on a full moon.>
Wuffles: <Hypothesis: There is another event coinciding with the full moon that is magnifying the effect.>
Big Dom: <hmm... i am inclined to agree.>

"We did, yeah. Her brother and father are jerks though. I hate those elitist pricks who think they're better than everyone just because they have status and only care about preserving said status." said Lyuri, giving a sigh of pure indignation.
