-The portal opens into a brightly lit clearing with a single large tree in the middle-

-the clearing is ringed with dense forest-

-Star walks out of the portal-

He sniffled and nodded, smiling awkwardly at DS.

Rex: O-okay...l-let's just go...

He followed everyone to the portal, Every helping him along the way. Before he entered, he felt the hairs on the back of his neck rise, turning back to the black void.

The image of Rex's father appeared again, a disapproving frown on his face.

Rex's Father: I take it from your reaction you have no intention of doing anything more with your life than being a tag-a-long to a group of misfits.

Rex: ...

Rex's Father: So be it. Go; I will not stop you. I suppose the only way you will learn is to self-destruct.

With that, the image faded away, Rex merely looking down before walking through the vortex.

-Follows through, looks at tree-

Crewe follows along behind the group silently, ignoring Basket for quite a while. Finally, she turns to the Tropius.

"What do you want, Basket?" she asks, the words coming out much more harshly than she intended. She winces internally, but retains the cold, hard look on her face.
