Maggie: "...Y'know, the Stormchaser might have a heart, or if it's got fans that might mean multiple hearts, long as things get to where they need to be. Though maybe a general electrical supply could count as something like that too, might be more accurate..."
M. Bush: <Oh okay, well I'm seeing it a bit now but you've probably just been tired! Still, yeah, more subdued! In a way that a normal living Pokemon is subdued!>
SleepyHead: <You are Definitely not the only one with that opinion.>
Maggie: "I like the show still! Even if I haven't kept up with it as much as I've gotten older..."
And then Vee eats the phone.
Maggie: "Aw, I was kinda hoping to see some of those recommendations. I can get My phone out but figure it might get eaten too."
"And, yeah, fair, it is RPF and that can be kind of awkward but it's something that's not exactly unexpected with the J-Team and I kinda like hearing about it even if it's awkward for most people. Honestly more interesting when it's like... more accurately fictional characters Based on us? At least for the ones that lean more into the show continuity or other things."
SleepyHead: <I'd Prefer not to be aware of ones with me in them.>
M. Bush: <I think I heard Maggie mention one with me and Kamella, never read it though. Or had it read to me more accurately.>

ToTo charges forwards to use her Sweet Kiss attack. She dodges a burst of lightning. Then another. Then the third hits her and sends her flying backwards. She is lifted into the air and flies backwards. Xaster dives forwards and catches her just as she is about to hit the floor, but she is knocked unconscious anyway.
A buzzer sounds to indicate the end of the contest.
MC: And that's it, ladies and gentlemen! Because Togepi has been knocked out, the winner of this contest is Justice and Arctozolt!
As soon as he finished speaking, Simon Hoode grabs the microphone.
Simon Hoode: I just want to say that I haven't seen anything even close to talent all day, and I wish I had never come here. Goodbye.
He turns and leaves, ignoring the baleful looks of literally everyone else. Mary then reaches for the microphone.
Mary: What a c***. I thought you were both very good.
Everyone gasps at a seven year older using that kind of language.
Only Cof hears.
Ever: So, you're probably wondering why I didn't send Misery out earlier, against Tuft. Leaving aside Moonblast, speed advantages, whatever...Misery's not actually on my team, this time around.
PEFE!Every: What? Why not?
Ever: Well, as a Hatterene, she seemed to feel that the League would be overwhelming, and as a Grimmsnarl...honestly, still probably overwhelming. And also, because...recent evolution!
-they send out-
Scramble the Dragapult, and associated Dreepy: <!>
PEFE!Every: ...Well, okay.
Scramble: -holds out camera-
PEFE!Every: ...I'd really prefer you didn't.
Scramble: -droops a little, but aims the camera at Sharptooth. The Dreepy Swarm let out little chirps of excitement-
Sharptooth: <I suppose I can't argue with edifices to myself.>
Ever: Alright, all good?
-the Dreepy Swarm evaluates the photo-
Scramble: -takes a photo of Ever in which they don't appear, before sticking the camera into hammerspace- <.>
Ever: Alright. Let's get down to it!
Sharptooth: <Rank cowardi—>
Justice: "I... I won? I WON!"
Odin: "You want to go?"
-long drawn out sigh-
"...Fine. I'll take care of it. Just don't hold me back."
-Ever, as per U-Turn, sends out the mon first, sending out Spaghetti again-
-PEFE!Every sends out Tuft-
Tuft: <Well, here we are again.>
Spaghetti: <You could at least say "good evening.">
Tuft: <It isn't, and you haven't.>
Spaghetti: <Because I don't respect you.>
-Ever waits patiently, observing PEFE!Every-
Okay. Okay. Move options— Leech Seed, Protect, Double Team, and Shadow Ball. Spaghetti's used Curse and Protect so far. Protect is useless right now for either of us, it's just a delaying tactic before making an actual decision. If I call Double Team and they call Curse, it's a draw, and they still have Scramble and two more Pokemon, where I just have…
-she censors this thought, just in case Ever has somehow developed telepathy-
-or in case someone is reading her mind and would rather her lineup remain a surprise-
If I call Shadow Ball and they call Curse, Tuft is faster than Spaghetti, and I'll have things almost down to even. Then I can start setting up again against Scramble or whoever comes next. But they could call Sucker Punch, and while I don't think that would finish Tuft, I can't be sure.
Well, I can be pretty confident.
...Yeah. If nothing else, I trust Tuft.
PEFE!Every: Shadow Ball!
Ever: Sucker Punch.
-Spaghetti lashes out with a hand, while Tuft fires a sphere of obscura-
-the hand hits Tuft, not accomplishing a whole lot-
-and Spaghetti's knocked out-
PEFE!Every: There we go.
-Azure manages to grabs Ironspine and jets away unopposed-
-Suiko's wrestling out of Courage's grip as not!Daydre gets there, Move unfired-
-she almost fights not!Daydre as they grab her—HUD!Vee <<yells>> something in her own ear and she goes limp instead-
Mecha-Volcanion: -sizzle, lenses juddering erratically-
-it shunts systems to backup systems, backup-backup systems-
-...if they hadn't already disabled all of those-
-a massive, watery paw shoves a pressure wave behind MONARCH and everyone he's towing-
-a second slams the Volcanion's wreck into its resting place, covering it with its digits-
-any flames from its rupturing core are doused instantly by the deep, but the shockwave…-
-the speed of sound in water is 1.5 kilometers per second-
(-Vee wraps her limbs around the group—-)
-there's very little in the way of cover across rolling hills, but the Minerva are mostly asleep, and the Lares aren't moving particularly urgently-
-with a little care, the squad of Thieves makes its way here without issue-
-"here" being...a building-
Campus Palace, Library
-a grand construction with deep-hued banners hanging from high battlements—too poorly-illuminated to see-
-humanoid equivalents of a Escavalier and Accelgor bar its main entrance, "Bug" providing no name for either-
-in-person, one may expect getting past them to be something of an ordeal…-
-...but whatever back door they took leaves them shades in this Palace, limited in both physicality and influence-
-though careful to avoid their gaze, "Bug" just walks right through the walls, beckoning for the Thieves to follow-
-and inside are racks and racks of discs like TMs-
-further analysis is stymied by the fact that they're crawling with ants-
Myrmex: -to its companion- <What? What is this?>
-not too much larger than actual Durant, mercifully—barely a foot and a half end to end-
Myrmex: -likewise, to its companion- <New entry? Pah! They never label these.>
-gold carapace, swathed in royal purple—bits flickering intermittently into indigo Porygon parts and back again-
Myrmex: -mandibles clacking, spear and shield banging together- <If we must compress this ourselves then so be it,>
"Bug": -holding very still- … •-•
Myrmex: -another- <but we are not pleased.>
-the Myrmekes begin folding "Bug" up, and she tries keeping her whimpers inaudible-
"Cloud": -still phased into the wall, visibly resisting blowing cover by attacking on her own-
"Bug": -conveying all this info apparently telepathically to everyone's masks, high-pitched-
Cloud": -resisting very tenuously-
-psh, who would be reading anyone's mind with Hiro around-
Megan: -to Tagg- ...huh.
-she mulls over the thought of the Pokédex funded by seized assets from a bad science org, a whole PEFE island, PEFE!Every...-
Megan: -big-eyed, devastated- ...abandoned? 🥺
Megan: ...also Missingno is—
Pippy: -whisper, sidelong- <The, uh, event, that started the J-Team.>
Megan: -I was gonna finish that sentence "real". - -;-] [—Hard to forget one of the times your Region snaps in half, but honestly they're starting to blur together. Never was sure what was fact and just speculation from those days, that time was weird.
Hiro: -still watching- There usually are a few major Glitches roaming this planet at any given time. Most smaller ones attach themselves to something baryonic ruling out Ghosts, interestingly or get rolled up in the bigger ones' Cores.
Hiro: I've collated some evidence against our reality as a programmed simulation, but it's hard to deny the resemblance. I suspect it's deep down a similar matter of errors in a source language as they appear through a physical interface—though that is just a hypothesis, and a simplification besides. The multiversal nature of Glitches as they grow in addition to the bigger ones' apparently uniform sapience means that the odds of one causing trouble in any given universe specifically before being destroyed in any and all of them are slim—
Hiro: -actually putting the Lens down to look at her- Please do not try to make one.
-Megan actually pouts, pulling her hoodie's...hood...up around her face-
Megan: -...mutter- It probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
-she watches the Memito back-and-forth, sullen-
Megan: -sitting bolt upright- Ha! Evade tactics, there we go—
Vee: -wince- <Ooooh, damn, no power, though.>
Pippy: -still giving Vee scritches- <I love the way she fights.>
Megan: -leaning against Pippy- ...we know the "bit too much invested in the One Specific Tactic" thing, don't we?
Pippy: -snicker, wry- <Yeah.>
-it's like a Pokéball tennis match-
Hiro: -to Tagg- ...it's possible I've been dealing with the School for too long, but "abandoned in a science facility" next to "sperm and egg donor" and—Memitos—
-he glances back and forth between the cousins, momentarily-
-leaning back- Was hers a clone situation? It wouldn't be the first time.
Zayna, the Fulminous: -sneezes-
-the Stormchaser provides a roll of paper towels-
Zayna: -sniff- ~...thanks.~
Ever: Alright, Scramble.
-they hold out their camera-
Tuft: <Eh...sure. Get my good side?>
Scramble: -takes a picture going right up Tuft's nose-
Tuft: <...You have a strange definition of sides.>
Tuft: <So, Dragon vs. Fairy, huh? I'm not much of a scientist myself, but I think there's some precedent for that.>
PEFE!Every: Double Team!
Ever: Quick Attack.
Tuft: <Hold on—>
-there's a click, a squeak from a Dreepy-
-a small explosion-
Tuft: <...Ow. @_@>
Dreepy #7: -chirps, pets Tuft's head-
Tuft: <That's very condescending.>
Dreepy #7: <:V!>
-they flit back to Scramble, rejoining the cloud of Dreepy-
Should've known. Dragapult are some of the fastest and most maneuverable fliers on record…
-PEFE!Every sends out…-
Nadia: <Oh, wow. This is...very open. And very bright. And very loud.>
-she opens her eyes a little to squint across the battlefield-
<And I am fighting a dragon.>
-she glances back at PEFE!Every, who gestures for her to come over. Nadia does, claiming some snuggles-
Ever: Uh, okay. A Dunsparce. I guess I'm not super surprised or anything. Sort of thought this would happen later maybe. (to Nadia) Uh, I don't think I've met you?
PEFE!Every: This is Nadia. -chin skritch to get away some shed skin that hasn't yet fallen off- She's my centurion of special tactics. Okay, Nadia, ready?
-PEFE!Every tosses Nadia back onto the field, Nadia hovering in place-
Scramble: -chirp, holds up camera-
Nadia: <Okay, so...you don't talk.> (to PEFE!Every) <Do I have to get my picture taken?>
PEFE!Every: You don't have to if you don't want.
-she waves her wings a little-
<I guess you can?>
Scramble: -delighted buzz, click-
Ever: So, special tactics?
PEFE!Every: You'll see.
Ever: ...Right. Look, I know we both like Dunsparce, but I've been a Dunsparce for a bit, and there are literally no other options besides paraflinching. Which, so you know, doesn't work when you're outsped by this much. Scramble, Dragon Darts.
PEFE!Every: Gyro Ball.
Ever: Excuse the fuck out of—
-they fire two Dreepy-
-said Dreepy rocket towards Nadia, guided by the inscrutable impulse to ram headlong into things that all dragons appear to share-
-she spins in place in the air-
-a steely aura surrounding her-
-and both Dreepy are batted aside without effect-
Dreepy #4 and #11: <Eee~!>
-the air bends inwards, PEFE!Every stumbling forward slightly, then dropping to her knees for added stability-
-Ever catches themself, backpedaling-
-the audience may feel compelled to lean in-
-and Scramble, who is light and fast, is sucked right to Nadia-
-and bounces off with much the equivalent force to the Dreepy-
-they hit the ground, phase through it, and even that fragmentary contact is enough to leave a furrow in the field-
-Nadia slows to a halt, the aura around her fading-
Nadia: <I didn't get a good look. Did they flinch?>
PEFE!Every: -folds arms-
Ever: ...Yeah, yeah, okay, I deserved that one.
Magtail: -Gets critted and loses about half of her health as she goes for another Fire Lash-
Now that Pef and Ever are having a Dunsparce fight, since Scramble's out Ever might go for-
Yes, she was basically raised by the Dunsparce after the other Founders and I made Pokefutures defunct back in 2008, speaks their unique Monese dialect.
Impression I got is that they've basically been around as long as our universe has been, if not longer.
Pef was born like (presumably) you and I were, not made, she's not like Mewtwo or our School friends, the latter of whom aren't technically clones. I just refer to them as that because as far as I'm concerned they're only parents in the sense that she shares DNA with them. Pokefutures and the School are a bit at cross purposes, though I'm sure evil scientists flock together. The weirdly strong family resemblance is more due to their particular branch's ancestry, something I'd suspect the School would be very interested in if they knew about it. Up until it probably backfires on them.
Pink -Scanning- <This is weird, normally they would be Shadows until we rip their masks off and the demons come out, but I guess it might be because this state we're in prevents them from fully perceiving us.>
We need to get them back before the demons know what's up.

Megan: -eyes bigger- Multiple hearts...
Vee: -yowl- <I'm undead, Water-type, and twelve-and-a-quarter kilos of pure spite!!>
Pippy: <Sweet cinnamon roll too good for this earth, too wet.>
-Megan winks the wink of "I'll link it later, when I've stuck my phone in some rice"-
(-...or. attempts to-)
(-it comes out a bit more like "I've got Vaporeon in my eye but I don't want to break eye contact while we're talking-)
-and listens to er logic-
Megan: ...you're really cool.
-...Megan rapidly gains the particular flustered expression of someone who sort of said something without really intending to and is internally debating whether to walk it back or roll with it-
Megan: I mean!! It's hard for me to imagine! Dealing with that kind of fame even though I kind of have it?? Sorta??
I mostly do not think about it aside from the fic and the fanart which admittedly is a rather large subset of the Content produced for a Person who is Not Quite Me and also shipfic of all my friends which is kind of a guilty pleasure now that I think about it although there's not!! Really stuff to be guilty about there, maybe, probably, and it's kinda awesome you were a fan before you were a J-Teamer and the show kinda leans into that and I barely paid attention to J-Team stuff before I got sucked in except for when they were wrecking Sinnoh you like ascended and that's pretty neat and stuck around in fandom when you became part of the domain that gathers fans and that's pretty cool you don't get that in studios for intellectual property reaso -inhales-
-she sort of does both?-
Megan: -meeps- I have a thirst following and that is one surreal thing among several
Vee: <I start flame wars about myself online.> .3c
Pippy: -hidden behind- <Why are you the way that you are>
Vee: -nudge- <You love me~> ~w
Logan: -wink- The mirroring impulse is a powerful social lubricant. Both of those I learned for crises pretty much but now I do them for fun. I think she'd like you; you're chill and friendly and that goes a long way with her.
-but Logan gets a sneaking suspicion-
Logan: ...familiar, huh.
-they look at Gui, look at Zeal, glance at the empty spot in the air where Eric probably is-
Invisible Thing: ~...~
Addie: -munches more-
-look back, musing-
-Hiro's eyes shine-
Hiro: Interesting. Given what I know of what they are, that doesn't surprise me, but our records understandably don't go back that far. As far as Legends go, Reshiram is comparatively young, but in recent sightings she's seemed to indicate there's a policy of stamping them out. Or so I hear.
-he keeps musings on alternate models of physics and nascent emergent realities to himself; there is still a battle on-
Hiro: -frown- I see.
...I get the impression she's fond of you, in the same breath that she calls you her boss. Can't promise anyone anything, but I'll keep an eye peeled in case anyone from the School takes an interest. Though they both seem fully capable of taking care of themselves.
-Megan, Pippy, and Vee all cheer very loudly at once-
Team Pastoria: Yeah, Dunsparce!!!>
Vee: <Kick ass!>
Pippy: <Take names!>
Megan: -hushed- Found [bleep]ing family.
Hiro: -grinning- Raise hell, Nadia.
-and sends out Arc-
Arc: -waves to the audience-
Nadia: <Hey, focus.>
Arc: <Oh, hi! You're Nadia, right?>
Nadia: <...Why are you so calm about this?>
Arc: <It's just a battle for fun. It's fine, right?>
Nadia: <Huh. You may be the only person here who feels that way.>
Arc: <Weird. More people probably should.>
Ever: So. Nadia vs. Arc. Flash Cannon!
-there's an exchange of fire-
Arc: <I am very annoyed right now.>
Ever: Mmm, Brine.
Arc: <Take this!>
-he sprays a stream of salty water at Nadia-
-PEFE!Every recalls her-
-Ever stares across the battlefield at her. Their eyes are a little blank, their posture loose, swaying slightly in the winds kicked up by the stadium shape and by the battle-
Just one Pokemon left. I think I can maybe scrape this out…
PEFE!Every: You're holding back.
Zeal: Yeah, there it is. Good to know.
-He makes to take another sip of tea and is sadly reminded it's already empty. He frowns.-
I'd been associated with them since, what, early 2013? But I've been away a few years now, save for a couple of brief appearances now and then. I don't think I can really count myself a member anymore.
-He tilts his head.-
...Though I suppose I barely was one to begin with, anyway, always running off doing my own thing. Sure, "team" has always been used rather loosely here, but I really didn't get involved on nearly the same level as my friends.
-He gives a soft smile.-
Guess I'm just more of a sidelines type of guy.
"It was quite epic," Silas responded.
Roxy looked at Doug and started thinking if she should introduce him to Gio, she scoffed and then redirected, "So if you need any assistance, don't be afraid to ask."
"Yep, in fact... Bishop?" Silas started.
Out popped Bishop, "Yes Captain?"
"Can you spare any files for our new friends here?"
Bishop looked to Risky and Doug, "Well that depends, what do they need to know?"
Silas quirked a brow and looked to Risky, with a gesture inviting her to ask away.
Jackal kept quiet, Hm... quite the scenario.
Jackal looked up, "Hey Pink, these palaces are based on internal cognition right? Any patterns in the shadows here? We can probably follow the patterns to keep out of the way. The brain likes routine after all, subconsciously at least..."
Logan: -wry- I could tell you how I knew them and knew of them before I joined, but this is a happy occasion. Suffice to say "associating from the sidelines" is generous. But nothing wrong with a little distance.
-Logan twists the head off a Pikachu-headed thermos full of coffee-
Logan: -sipping- I've seen a lot of organizations, and socially it's invariably a bunch of little circles of people who know each other, with lots of overlap. New people wander into the J-Team and find themselves members pretty much instantly. Just as instantly everyone does go off and do their own thing—the whole Team gets together these days to break bases and do nonsense like bringing the communal living space to life.
-chuckle, self-effacing- I first showed up for like a week, vanished from the universe for a year, and got welcomed back pretty seamlessly. The bar for reentry's real low. The trick's to find your people.
-they stop to shrug, encouragingly-
Logan: -smile- You could call it not being a member any more, sure. But you were a member once and you can be a member again—the second best time to plant any tree is today.
-they suck in their cheeks, thinking-
Logan: ...platitudes aside, what is it about being a J-Teamer you miss? Community in general, people in specific, the—heh—adventure of it all?
Addie: -headtilt- <Or are you looking for something new?>
- —shouts the full trio, again-
Pippy: -turns, points excitedly- <That's my son!!!>
Audience Member: Lady please tell your bird to calm down
Vee: -prrr- <Aww, conflict of interest. Sorry, Nadia.>
Megan: I'll never know how we produced someone so unshakably normal
Vee: <Trained him right.> 😤
-and what a statement, Pef-
Thespi: -giggles gleefully-
Ever: (surprised) I am?
PEFE!Every: Yeah, you are.
PEFE!Every: You're battling the way I battle. Boiling it down to exchanges of moves. I saw a couple moments of really pushing it back at the start, but you're just phoning it in, now.
Ever: … -tiny smile- You're learning.
PEFE!Every: I learn faster than anyone. If you keep doing that, I'm going to win this. And I'm not interested in winning some random game with someone who doesn't even want to be playing. I've fought things scarier than you, and I don't care about being here for a game. If you're serious about this being so I can learn something that matters, show me what an actual battle looks like or you might as well spare our Pokémon some stress and forfeit now so I can battle someone who will.
Congratulations. You're a real Trainer now.
-they stand up a little straighter, and puff a breath out of their mouth-
Alright. My apologies. I'll end this properly.
PEFE!Every: Thank you. Cervantes.
PEFE!Every: It'll be okay.
Cervantes: <I know that! You wouldn't send me out if it weren't.>
PEFE!Every: Get ready.
Ever: Hey, Cervantes.
Cervantes: <Hey. Ready to lose?>
Ever: Oh. No. That's not what's happening here.
PEFE!Every: You wanted paraflinching, right?
Cervantes: -crackles with lightning-
-Cervantes whips around, tail whirring as static builds up-
-and the Brine left on the field by the last round spears towards him, a dozen blades of liquid curving in like a magician's box and trapping Cervantes in an upside-down aerial vortex-
-it's salty, muddied water, and very conductive-
Ever: Flash Cannon.
-Cervantes opens his eyes-
-which are met by a brilliant burst of light, forcing him to close them again-
PEFE!Every: (slightly desperately) Drill Run!
-Cervantes bursts free of the Whirlpool, tail and wings humming-
-the prison of water actually shattering around him-
-and Arc is there already, the points of his crown meeting Cervantes mid-flight, and forcing him back into the Whirlpool-
-which carries them both off the ground-
-if you've ever seen a snake and a knight fighting in a washing machine, you probably have a decent idea of what's going on here. You probably haven't ever seen this, however, so-
-where the Whirlpool hinders Cervantes, it aids Arc, Waterfall leaving him essentially walking on a slowly moving surface-
-Cervantes struggles uphill against the downwards pressure, while Arc leisurely strolls to the top of the inverted maelstrom-
-and dives, plucking Cervantes out of the air and slamming him to the ground-
Cervantes: -building up another Thunder Wave- <Got you right—>
-the Whirlpool rains down. Dozens of droplets, each sharpened into a needle-
M. Bush: <...Huh, didn't expect the undead thing, thought that was just the show.>
The Venusaur narrows her eyes at Vee.
<...You don't fly around at night sucking the fluids out of Pokemon eggs too, do you?>
Maggie smiles at the comment and the rambling.
Maggie: "Oh, no, it's fine! It's actually pretty cool to meet someone else who thinks about this kind of stuff and likes to talk about it like this. I mean, well, due to how the show is they tend to more often than not exaggerate my stress levels and playing up my team as a dysfunctional mess..."
SleepyHead: <Still feel like it sometimes but like, it's a mess of love than pure malice.>
Maggie: "Yeah, that's a good way to look at it."
An Impidimp shows up suddenly, also wearing safety goggles.
Impidimp: <Aw, but I want some malice... Those flame wars sound fun, get me in on those!>
M. Bush: <Maybe I can provide some malice too! Ever said I was full of it once!>
SleepyHead: <Let's not, please...>
Maggie: "Aaaanyway, yeah, with how they make you even more muscular in the show, I can't say I'm exactly surprised for the thirst following you've got. Glad I already set boundaries that I wouldn't take pics of people shirtless after that one person was disappointed I didn't get one of Tagg... They got several in the show later anyway..."
"But yeah, it's... a bit weird to deal with? I'm online enough I've gotta deal with some degree of parasocial relationships online which can be weird when I'm... not always the most social person around. But I guess it works and stuff."
Edited by CorvusAtrox on Oct 25th 2021 at 2:12:23 PM
Zeal: Not sure I'd be able to pick out specific things I "miss". I didn't formally depart or anything. I just kinda... fell off. Truthfully, I've been doing much the same sort of thing as I was back then, just with a smaller cast of actors.
-He stops to think.-
That's a good suggestion, actually. Community, I mean. I've... been meaning to stop by and visit a few people, but...
Gui: You've been dithering.
Zeal: That's the size of it. I just get the feeling that if I come back, it'll be hard to say goodbye again. But maybe it's for the best. Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way. Maybe it's a sign I shouldn't break off so soon.
I said I wasn't in any hurry to share my life story, yet here we are. Evidently my current worries don't fall into that category.
Technically she's not under my direct jurisdiction, but I was in charge of making sure she got paid. She's like a... quasi-younger sister/daughter if that makes sense?
If they cannot beat this, they're not quite ready yet.
Risky: ...Details on one Thistle Nettle. And The School.
-Doug is weirdly silent here=
not!Daydre almost drops Suiko, but thankfully she stops struggling just in time for them to retain their grip.
Azure falls in behind them, Aqua Jetting in time with MONARCH to stay within Vee's protection.
"I don't mean to pressure you MONARCH but we might be in trouble"
EMPEROR: <THIS ISN'T EVEN MY TOP SPEED!>
It's unclear whether he's bluffing or not, but he does seem to be putting more oomph into it. Azure groans something that sounds like 'I didn't sign up for this' and picks up the pace as well.
"I would try something but.. who knows if it would work like this. Or avoid tipping off the guards..." She hmms.
"... Actually I can probably still use illusions huh..."
Daydre's instincts are both telling her to touch it and not to touch it, so she looks a little conflicted.
... She does end up touching it.
"Mm. And with my reputation... I'm sure I stoked some old fears about Obscurics." She seems genuinely perturbed by that.
(Expression turning contemplative) ".. Though now I'm wondering what the situation is like back there... I left Rikuo in charge but he isn't always the most responsible."
I was added to this groupchat without my consent, to my understanding I'm receiving aid from some of you?
Do you ever intend on going back?
That'd be correct, but only some of us since if too many of us show up we might as well just have the Stormchaser blow open a hole in the manor with how obvious it is.

-Paula smiles, sighing fondly.-
Paula: Your company is... so interesting. Call me selfish, because I am, but I don't want to leave tonight and have to forget you. I couldn't possibly ever forget this meeting, in all honesty. So...
-She leans forward again, eyes half-lidded.-
Paula: Promise me something. Don't just say you will, really promise me. Get to know the girl upstairs. Not just through her memories, really get to know her. Her name, number, all that — but she's gotta tell you herself. I live vicariously through her anyway, me and Runaway both.
-She gives the ol' Paula grin-
Paula: If you do that, then I'm an open book.
-It's an open book.-
-The particular book of note recounts a tale of a young girl getting kicked out of a bar, primarily for being flagrantly underage. She meets a man, who sees her frustration, and offers a job opportunity. She turns it down initially, but—
Runaway: Look, if you're going to be digging around here uninvited, at least help clean up the goddamn place.
-Oh dear, that got interrupted. It's a good thing there was a bookmark wedged in that page. It depicts a cliff face and a skyscraper, with two individuals in freefall and two more reaching out for them.-
-Runaway leans in the doorway, judgmentally staring down the bookworms.-

Totally Not Odin: I'm willing and able. I've gotten rusty on this kind of thing ever since Duolis disappeared.
-The party is much closer to here now-
Olivia: Looks like no one's here...
-spies a hole-
...But my brother's clearly up to no good.
-Somethhing large can be seen nearby, munching on something else-
-When the dust settles, Melony's Darmanitan has assumed a new, more snowman-like form.-
Me: That must be Galarian Darmanitan's Zen Mode...
Melony: And you'd be right. However, instead of psychic power it's tapping into, my Darmanitan rediscovers the powers of its Unovan relative.
Me: So it's now an Ice/Fire type. That should make things more interesting... Hey, Evelyn.
Evelyn: Yes, Ian?
Me: Remember how we dealt with a double team with a Dark type back in Turffield?
Evelyn: Oh yes!
Me: It might not be very effective, but if we tweak it in just the right way...
Evelyn: That was Counter!
Hatty: <You got this, Elton! Show them what you're made of!>
-Ian and Evelyn step out of the dressing rooms wearing their caped Kwan Industries Gym Uniform and Psychic Kimono respectively.-
Krypton: It's a pleasure to meet you, Oganesson.
-Krypton then gets a whiff of the meal that Oganesson pointed to.-
Krypton: Wow, that sure smells good. You made all that?
Me: Alright, so that leads to my next question. Can the portal be activated when charged with any sort of energy, or does it specifically have to be electrical? If it's the former, then I may have an idea...
Evelyn: Let's go... to where the Palace once was.
-Ian and Evelyn follow Olivia and Ann.-
Evelyn and I: Whoa!
Me: King Olly did all this? He must be pretty powerful...
Aurelia: Okay. I won't hold you back.

Igor: Do be careful around Oggy here. Sure, the furniture's real but really, you'll never know which thing is just one of his elaborate illusions. Don't believe any of your senses at once.
Oganesson: Oh, he needn't worry about that. I assure you, Krypton, that everything you and the ditto sense here right now is real. All of which was prepared by me personally from mamoswine meat I've hunted myself. I prepared the sausage and other cuts of meat personally and cooked them to my specifications using the finest available ingredients. The sides use locally sourced organic herbs and locally foraged mushrooms, which all grow in Dr. Circhester's estate. It smells absolutely terrific, doesn't it? I assure you that it tastes even better.
There's a certain unmistakable whiff of spite every time he mentions the word "ditto."
Igor: You make elaborate sensory hallucinations. I'd like to see you prove it.
Oganesson: This is exactly the same food in Dr. Circhester's table. And really, do you think I'd waste my mental energy deceiving the two of you for my amusement? Please. The doctor's ensured that I've plenty of diversions to hone my psychic faculties. Trolling you is beneath me.
Igor: That's not how I remember it.
They both pause. Igor was really having none of it.
Oganesson: Krypton, do try the hurka I'm especially proud of. You will find that my culinary skills are no hollow boast.
Igor: Yeah, that much I am willing to admit. He's allowed to hunt and cook his own food, and he's gotten so good at cooking that we order him to do the meals of the castle when we have guests around. Of course, his culinary activities are always strictly supervised.
Oganesson: Oh, Ditto, I do love it when you distrust me. I believe you have something that belongs to me.
Igor: That was your last warning, Oggy. You're not getting the porygon back. We've given you so many chances to keep him under wraps.
Oganesson: Oh, very well. Let the ditto have his way.
There was no hiding the mocking tone of the young schoolchild's voice. Igor sighs and turns to Krypton.
Igor: Good luck. And I mean it. Let me know if he bugs you enough. The doctor will see to his discipline.

"We have some details on the school," Silas stared, "But I don't think we have any on a Thistle Net-"
"Done," Bishop said, as Risky's phone would ping, "With a complete document on Thistle Nettle."
Silas blinked, "What?"
"The fuck?" Roxy finished.
Bishop turned back to the two, "Captain, you told me to get what I could. I spend my time scouring information systems looking for any suspicious activity. Thistle Nettle was a notable incident because his death was accidental."
Silas tilted his head.
"Captain you and I have caused accidents that look like accidents... so Thistle's death is far too accidental and accident to be accidental."
Silas rubbed his temples, "I hate that it somehow makes sense."
"Quite, suffice to say while we have significant details on the Cloning Project, Gabriel and Samwise. Not to mention what Rory and Zugolski have told us with their limited experiences, I only have so much," Bishop said, he turned to Risky, "Apologies that I couldn't be of more assistance."
