"I'll take the lead, then," Rage and Love offered, replacing and removing his blindfold, Ahemait sniffing the air around them as the party advanced.
-Evelyn tilts her head.-
Evelyn: Snakes, you say? As in small like Dunsparce? Or big... likely with eight heads... and...named for one of the Ghost... Lord's... Demon... Generals?
Hatty: <Evelyn? What's wrong?>
Bede: Now, Gardevoir! Use Moonblast!
Gardevoir: <Prepare thyselves... FOR THE TRUE POWER OF THE FAE!>
-The magic circle flashes with a radiant light, silver like the moon and pink with the aura of the fae. The image of the moon appears behind Gardevoir as she raises her hand to the sky. Gathering the light of the moon into the palm of her hand, she chants a powerful spell under her breath. Once enough of the moon's magical light is gathered into her hand, she unleashes several beams of that light at Raru and Mirai.-
"Oh, that's some good timing. Well, I'll leave you two to it then. It was nice talking to you!"
And with that she turns and walks off.
Salamence: -long sigh- <Ma'am, I'm a very busy Altaria, and I have several task to complete, not the least among them being visiting my daughter who apparently is in town? So instead of doing this theatrically I'm just sort of gonna...not.>
-at which point she vanishes-
To: Shiny Roserade 💚💜🖤 (Group)
I'm in Hammerlocke waiting for Ev and Pef to get their tournament started! Where do you want to meet? =)
Brie is typing...
and yes y'all cute <3
Listen, okay? I didn't know what you were planning and I didn't want to like...
-She makes this wild but entirely nondescript gesture-
For all I knew you could of made a throwing axe or something. I wanted to clarify before acting to make sure you weren't gonna make me do something I'd regret, okay?
-The synthmuscle of the suit compensates a little, but a little bit of a shudder ripples through her body as she stands her ground-
-Both of the dragons smile knowingly. Luperian raises a finger to their lips-
Takcorian: Names have power~ So watch your language~
Well, if it isn't one of Galar's big Champions! How wonderful to have you at my humble little feast, Tagg.
-She smiles, though tilted enough for the camera to catch it-
How is the region treating you? And what about the J-Team, I hear they're quite... Popular.
<The hell are->
<Sleeeeeeeeeeeep,> Clutch commented with his eyes glowing, the Medicham passed out.
"Thank you," Arthur commented.
Friendo, we're in a pretty messed up situation, and I'm still trying to compensate for your moral core. That's one of the fun parts about you, but we've still had at least a few ships we couldn't resolve with just a Knock Out.
Arthur stepped forward, "Still worried?" he asked.
I'm— f—... I'm not fine...
-Gale takes a few steps back before finding a bit of intact wall to collapse against-
Maybe when we get back to the ship I'll find a better way to explain it but...
-She traces a shape in the air with a fingertip and manifests the faint illusion of a knife in it-
If I stop caring about how I handle these things, I'm going to fall to the sword...
-Yeesh, she sounds a little loopy-
The Pen looked a little concerned, Well... crap I don't know how to discuss this.
"I do," Arthur said, helping Gale up, "We can discuss it in detail on the ship. The conversation of being a tool of destruction, but you forget, we're not just a Sword, we are a shield as well."
The Pen looked at Arthur.
"Speaking of the ship..." Arthur commented tilting his head.
Over the comms came the voice of Stylus, <Hey, ship is repaired. Gale I managed to grab some relatively fresh foods, we can probably broker some deals with these.>
Federation authorities walked up and took the Medicham as the bident dissipated, <Good work,> they said, <We'll transfer a bounty fee to your ship account.>
Edited by EchoingSilence on May 12th 2021 at 8:09:51 AM
-Gale makes a halfhearted tap to her helmet as though she had to activate comms-
Right, alright... On my way...
-She does manage to stumble to her feet and starts walking back towards the ship-
The ship undocked and took off, Stylus took off his scarf and shivered a bit, "Okay. Everyone had a productive time?"
"Affirmative Captain," Bishop noted, "We have gained quite a bit of scrap for our efforts."
Silas quirked a brow and pondered how that could have happened, but best to leave those questions for later.
"They had interesting printers, we got produce and some vat meat made... it's arguably fresher than our rations and I think if we play our cards right, some leftovers could be used for a trade," Silas told Gale.
Arthur shot Silas a look, who just held up his hands and walked off, "We'll be hitting the exit point beacon in a little bit."
As he walked off, Arthur looked to Gale, "Exhaustion huh? Being stuck out here getting to you?"
I've stopped keeping track of the days but we're like, two weeks into this? Two weeks cooped up in a metal box surrounded by absolute certain death lightyears and an entire dimension away from home and safety. And every second day it feels like I have to go out and fight just to survive...
-Gale's found somewhere on the floor to sit down. Her helmet's off and yeah it seems she's had a rough day-
You mentioned the Sword back there, Knight. What do you know of the Sword? Of the dark? I see so much of it in you, do you know that?
"We live in interesting times," Arthur commented.
Upon the comments of the Sword and The Dark, Arthur let out a sigh and a weary laugh, "I know a bit. I did engage on an entire quest just to return mortality to myself, only for it to later become a quest to save Kalos itself."
He sighed, "Also don't call me Knight. Was never knighted, I was a blacksmith, just a man caught in unusual circumstances, much like how we find ourselves here. We aren't just a sword, we are a shield as well."
Arthur smiled a bit, "We fight not to protect ourselves, but others, do we not?"
Evelyn: Of course. A witch such as myself would know that.
Hatty: <Evelyn... You don't just go telling random strangers that you're a witch!>
Evelyn: So Orochi was indirectly behind the incidents? How is that possible?
Evelyn: Mirai, use Helping Hand!
Me: Raru, use Shadow Sneak!
-Mirai's eyes glow in a rainbow of colors as she summons her psychic energy pompoms. She then dances around with them and cheers loudly before touching a pompom to Raru's forehead, dispersing the power through his body.-
-Gardevoir stands before the team of Raru and Mirai for a few seconds before falling to her knees in defeat.-
Gardevoir: <You two are incredibly powerful... I concede.>
Referee: Gardevoir is unable to battle!
Bede: Gardevoir, return.
-Bede calls Gardevoir back to her Poké Ball.-
Bede: You, Sylveon, Mawile and Rapidash all have earned your rest.
-the Safeguard also means Rosa's Poison Point just kind of...-
-dashes, without contact, against Salamence's cotton-
Rosemaster: ...hm. You know, fair.
-and without his essentially only layer of defense, he's knocked more or less on his ass-
Rosemaster: Likely enough to whet the public appetite anyhow.
Rosa: -winded- <...>
Rosemaster: I said enough to wet the no, no, that doesn't work. Roserade—
-from more of the force of Salamence's Aerial Ace, probably, Rosa bounces headlong into the flames-
Rosa: <Oh, me. The pain.>
Rosemaster: Roserade, no!
Rosa: -exploding- <I would have liked...to see the sun...one last time...!>
-the vignette holds for a beat, Rosemaster the picture of horror, her Roserade smoldering-
Rosemaster: -shaking her head, defeated- Alas! Some charity will be made very happy. Unlike myself, my dastardly plots foiled.
Teller: That's not—well you weren't doing anything illegal, but then you covered the lobby in Tamato paste and set it on fire—
Rosemaster: Foiled, I say.
-pulling out a Seed- Well, c'est la vie. You haven't seen the last of me.
Belated Authority Figure: Hey, what the hell's going on in h—
-and now everyone who—isn't protected by a Safeguard, come to think of it—is suddenly blinded-
Rosemaster(?): -behind her unless prevented- My regards to your daughter.
-and she attempts to vanish in a flurry of yet more violet rose petals-

The van rushed down the road, the money in the back, several masked men in the front. The driver shouted, "Okay we did it! We made a clean getaway!"
The guy in the back with Granbull looked over the loot, "You ever wonder why we grab money? Like we're clearly skilled, couldn't we get more through legitimate means and-"
"SHUT UP!" The guy in the passenger seat shouted.
The cops were far behind, it was nearly a clean getaway, then a shadow flew over the van... the trio looked up in worry, then an electric blast struck the engine block, the Van sputtered and died. Landing before them was a bright viridian blue being, wearing armor that resembled a vikavolt.
His posture was... less than impressive, "Okay guys. Seriously, why do you do this? Knock it off!"
He sighed and took off, "How was that?"
<Confusing. Why do you insist upon these actions?>
"I got a fancy super suit... kinda... are we a cyborg technically?"
<Cybernetic organism. Not incorrect.>
"Anyway, yeah, we have super powers, we should use them to help out. Occasionally that involves stopping robbers."
Unit-42 said nothing, Robbie sighed, "Come on. Let's go home."
-To Gale, neutral expression-
So says the news anyway. Galar's super rainy but the food is... interesting in more ways than one. I've yet to see so many interesting curry varieties, and I don't even like curry that much.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but Constantin is not like the other psychics you know and may have fought, I've been undergoing training just to not get instakilled by him in our inevitable clash.
But that aside, yeah, I've done my damndest to keep my family out of this, that's why a lot of us back in the beginning went by nicknames. Well, sorta for me, it's complicated.

Evelyn: Mirai, you did really well out there. I think you deserve a nice long rest.
Mirai: <Thank you.>
Me: Same goes for you, Raru.
Raru: <Thanks, pal.>
-Ian and Evelyn call Raru and Mirai back to their Poké Balls.-
Bede: I must say, your synergy is astounding. It's no wonder you two made it so far.
-Bede prepares one last Poké Ball.-
Bede: Well. It's time to finish this battle. Wouldn't you agree?
Me: We couldn't agree more!
Bede: Time to end this! HATTERENE!
Me: Piku-chan! I choose you!
Evelyn: Hatty, let's go!
-Bede throws his Poké Ball into the air and in a brilliant flash of light, a tall, witchlike Pokémon appears on the field. Piku-chan jumps off of Ian's shoulder and Hatty jumps off of Evelyn's head and the two of them join the battle.-
Daisuke: Looks like Ian has already familiarized himself with half of my team already...
Matilda: -quietly- <I wouldn't overestimate him based on that... He is still a child.>
Orbito: <But that doesn't mean we should underestimate him either. He has battled a multiverse-level threat on his journey.>
Blasty: <Well, however strong the kid is, we haven't been slacking on our training!>
Daisuke: Right you are, Blasty. Our battle will be LEGENDARY!
Bede: The time has come to show your true power!!!
-Bede raises his hand to the sky and the Dynamax Band on his wrist glows a brilliant red.-
-Two bursts of energy surge from Bede's Dynamax Band, causing Hatterene to glow with a red aura. The energy surge causes the Silent Pokémon to let out a quiet cry as her strength intensifies.-
Bede: May the raging Goddess rain her ire down upon the boisterous, bringing with her the true might of the feywilds! Hatterene...
-The transformation was sudden. A swirling storm of Dynamax Energy blocks out the sun as Bede's Hatterene, bathed in the Galar Particles, began to grow in size and change in form. Bede's Hatterene's eyes change from their usual black to a radiant blue as her hair forms a massive tower-like gown. The claws on her hair tentacle arm grow in length until they are as long as her body. The witchlike Pokémon now looms over Ian, Evelyn, Piku-chan and Hatty, standing at over 85 feet tall. She speaks not a word as she looks down from the tower-like room of her hair, resembling a Damsel in Distress while still carrying the aura of a divine fey monarch.-
Evelyn: Just say the magic words, Ian!
-Ian pulls his Wishing Star out of his pocket, looks to Evelyn and nods. Evelyn looks back to Ian and nods. The two trainers stand side by side, hold each other's hand and raise the hands holding their Wishing Stars to the sky, as though to invoke the Dual Aurora Wave.-
Evelyn and I: O, Wishing Star, hear our plea May heart and mind unite as one Great Power, we do ask of thee To grant unto our Pokémon! -The Wishing Stars begin to glow a brilliant red, matching the color of Eternatus' core, before generating a heart-shaped surge of Dynamax Energy.-
-Hatty jumps onto Piku-chan's head, and a second surge of Dynamax Energy is released by the two Wishing Stars.-
-The transformation was sudden. A swirling storm of Dynamax energy formed overhead as Piku-chan and Hatty were bathed in Galar Particles, granting them a red glow. Piku-chan and Hatty, bathed in Galar Particles, begin to grow to massive heights, with Piku-chan growing to over 68 feet tall, and Hatty growing to around the same height. However, Piku-chan's form begins to change, his tail lengthens and starts to glow, his physique gets rounder, and the electricity stored in his cheeks grows to startling levels.-
Megan: -contemplative- ...you know, I don't think I've ever fought any Psychics.
Vee: <I have!> >,3
Megan: -petting vigorously- Well obviously you have!
Pippy: <that is uhhhhh kind of a terrifying power differential? Stay safe??> .v.
Frank: <Truly, the mind is the most terrible danger of all! I know its scourge well, though never so intensely without as from within.>
Megan: -smiling super wide, lenses glinting- We're training, too.
-she twirls a wrench and immediately drops it into the surf; Pippy goes diving for it-
Megan: -sly- I don't think I'm ready to fight you, yet—I really wasn't expecting to run into you today—but soon, maybe.
Vee: -purr- <Ixnay on the aterway...>
Megan: -expression unchanging- Nickname? 8o
Pippy: -popping up- <...somehow I thought "Tagg" was your real name. Short for something?>
Vee: -mou- <Vee, obviously, stands for 'variety'.>
Megan: -muse- Should we have been going by pseudonyms? ...well, it's a bit late now, with the TV show using my face I don't think I ever signed off on that, but...
-Gale nods a little bit and sighs-
Yeah but... There's more to the sword than that...
-She shrugs and taps the helmet in her lap-
Should I just tell a story? I think I've ended up blending together stories to try and explain this...
-Both the dragons face fault-
Takcorian: Well, I told you not to do something and then you immediately did that thing.
Luperian: Thankfully we didn't tell you to not do something more dangerous.
Oh yes, curries. I've found that most of the curries in this region are... A little odd, a lot of experimentation going on with what Trainers put in them. But honestly? The food culture of Galar is so much bigger than just curry and I hope my streams have shown the world that there's a whole lot of variety most Trainers simply miss in the rush to League glory.
-She pauses a bit before continuing-
Of course, speaking of League glory, I do have a small announcement and would like to see if I have your permission to announce it.
You just smile and pat the Cubone on the helmet as they do that cute little sound small Pokemon do and then turn to regard the human you have just met.
"I am so up for this. Having a friend on an adventure sounds good."
You renew your smile, this time directed at the human, and prepare for the climb.
Might as well, it's what all these folks are waiting for I'd imagine.
Well, I haven't had a proper apprentice in ages since Ever and Maggie "graduated", Ever actually managing to beat me in this little test I concocted for them after our second visit to Unova as a group.
-The atmosphere gets slightly heavy at Pippy's question-
I assure you, it isn't. Normally I keep my real surname super private, how I allow the PEFE's employees to call me Dr. "Tagg". I got called that before, but I really started going by Tagg during my time with the Kids Grid in Orre, helped distance myself from a certain incident in the Under to an extent.
-Getting even heavier-
Many people know of "Tagg", far fewer know of Richard Yhap-Waite, you get me?
Arthur leaned against a wall, helmet off, "Go right ahead. I am not going anywhere and I would like to listen."
Hayden also stepped up to listen, for scientific purposes.
-oof, legitimate worry-
-Pippy begins to follow his comforting instincts, before Megan cuts in-
Megan: -deliberately cheery- ...I'm kind of Ever's apprentice! Which would make you kind of a grandmaster, hehe.
-smiling wider, with the sort of bow she hasn't done since she was Small- Master Yhap-Waite.
-Pippy and Vee do the same—Frank just looks befuddled-
-...before they all break from the pose, chuckling-
Megan: -giggle, light- I'll keep it on the down-low, I promise! But that's one more person who does know, you know?
Pippy: <I didn't know you were part of PEFE!> •v•
Vee: -wry, relentlessly sympathetic- <...incidents, huh? Rough times?>
Frank: <If ever there were a wretched hive of scum and villainy, Orre would be it, to hear the Doctor speak of it.>
Megan: -slow blink, behind the eyewear- ...want a hug?

Jackal rolled his head, taking the first step, "Knight and I are pretty durable, we can take some punishment."
He looked to Star and shot her a thumbs up, "Hey trust me. This place is confusing and I hate it, I can relate to being confused."
He stepped into the 'Palace', looking about the area and then to the people behind him. He took a few more steps and looked about, "Really resembles a studio lot."
Pink and Rakash would detect... only two presences, only one could be read as a shadow, the rest of the place was empty, not a single shadowy presence attached to it.
"How's it look?" Jackal asked.
Edited by EchoingSilence on May 12th 2021 at 8:06:52 AM
Pink: -Sensing- <This place is completely empty... No, wait. There's two presences, one's a Shadow, but the other isn't. Rakash, are you getting anything else?>
I'd imagine those would be our targets, let's get moving everyone, remember the plan.
I suppose there is the advantage that most people would be expecting a [Chinese] guy instead of a Black guy, but I also suppose that wouldn't be entirely wrong since my mom's mom was half-[Chinese].
Part of? I was one of its Founders.
Alright, this may be a bit... Messy. Half-remembering things and blending them together...
-She takes a deep breath and as she breathes out this black mist forms around her, a backdrop for illustrative illusions-
-The mist dissipates and Gale just kind of looks down-
Did... Did that make any sense? I just kind of started telling the story and I wasn't sure if it was making sense? I could maybe try and explain better, I'm just kind of... Yeah.
-She gestures at the camera crew and gives a few seconds for them to properly set a marker on the footage. Gale rummages around in her bag and puts on her Nightingale helmet-
Tagg, Champion of the Galar League and member of the illustrious J-Team. I, the Nightingale, lay down my formal challenge for the Galar Championship! Do you accept my challenge?
No Demons here, just getting two signals. That's probably our client and target. Folks, get ready for a fight and head on in.
