The Slumbering Weald (pre-Motostoke)

Arceus: <What?! No, I'm not here to spite you! That's absurd! On the contrary! I'm here to give you all your blessing and tell you of your purpose! Now where was I...? Oh, right.>

(They suddenly turn to look down at the rest of the group, and speak directly to them.)

Arceus: <J-Team... your goal is to brave the obstacles that stand in your way... and find the elusive Rusted Shield and Rusted Sword... only then will Zacian and Zamazenta be able to be seen by you... that is your purpose on this night... I leave you all now... farewell...>

(And with that said, they exit the scene and return to the sky. Mere moments later, all of the fog clears up, revealing all of the obstacles that Zacian and Zamazenta created, save for the police and the people dressed in red costumes. Freddie, who was shaking and crying the entire time Arceus was in front of him, has now calmed himself down a bit, but is still crying. Both Elton and Geddy are comforting him.)

Freddie: (in tears) <T-that... was the s-scariest thing... I have ever seen...>

Elton: (cheerfully) <Freddie... it's fine! It wasn't that bad! Look, Arceus is gone now!>

Geddy: <And so is the smoke.>

Freddie: (sniffling) <I-it... it is?>

(He looks ahead, and when he sees that Geddy and Elton are both correct he breaths a massive sigh of relief.)

Freddie: (relieved) <Phew... it is. That's a massive relief...>

Kim: (looking ahead at all the obstacles in front of her) "Well... this is certainly interesting..."

Elton: <You don't say! Look at all of these things! I can barely wait to take these on! Of course, this certainly seems like a lot of obstacles for such a simple quest. We just have to find the Rusted Sword and Rusted Shield, right, Kim?>

(But Kim doesn't respond, instead staring ahead at the giant graffiti reading ROMANES EUNT DOMUS that is directly in front of her. She walks ahead, followed by her Pokemon, who all stare at it in confusion.)

Elton: <What is that?>

Geddy: <"Romani ite domum"?>

(Kim continues to stare at the graffiti for a bit, before muttering to herself.)

Kim: "It's wrong."

Freddie: <Huh...?>

Kim: (turns to the group and to her Pokemon) "'Romanes eunt domus.' It's wrong."

Motostoke (post-Python)

(From behind, Kim approaches, with Geddy and Peechee walking with her.)

Kim: "I'm holding up well, thank you for asking. And don't worry. I am fully ready to take on Motostoke. Of course, you can go first."

Hoops scratches their chin. "I've never heard of a rusted sword and shield, but if Arceus says I have to find them, then that's what I'll do. Hey, Kec, if Arceus gives me a mission does that make me a prophet?"

<No. It most definitely does not> Kec answers. <Just start searching before we get into trouble.>

Motostoke City, post-python

Hoops stands outside the stadium, with Sal, Led, and Kec (Salandit, Ledian, and Kecleon respectively) out of their pokeballs and ready to battle.

"Alright guys. We lost here before, but if we want to get stronger we have to start challenging gyms again," they say.

<Is this because you lost to Ian?> Kec asks.

Hoops bristles. "No. This was a totally independent decision."

<You would have won if you'd used me> Sal claims, puffing out his chest.

<It really might have made an excellent spectacle that way> Led adds.

Before Hoops can reply, they notice several people sprinting towards the stadium, and recognises them. "Here too?"

They then wave and yell. "Ian! Evelyn! Over here!"

-Ian and Evelyn turn around to see Hoops calling to them.-

Motostoke City

Hoops smiles. "I've been good. After all that craziness I decided to start challenging gyms again. I feel like it could help me get stronger. How have you guys been?"

While talking, they are rubbing one arm uncomfortably, which is covered by the long sleeve of an undershirt that they weren't wearing last time.

"Oh, but, I haven't introduced these guys yet. These are Led and Sal."

Led flies over to Evelyn and makes a curtsey motion in the air. <It's nice to meet you. Trainer mentioned that you helped him when you were kids. Thank you for that.>

Sal interrupts. <Led, you're not supposed to introduce yourself first! Now they won't think I'm cool!>

Kec sighs. <Sal, once again it's not all about you.>

Hoops laughs. "Sorry about the commotion, but I'm glad I got to meet you both again."

The Slumbering Weald (pre-Motostoke)

Kim: (looking over at the graffiti) "Yes, it is indeed motion towards. Which means that 'domus' takes the accusative of motion towards, which is 'domum.' Easy." (beat, she suddenly turns to look over at Ian and Evelyn) "I assume you do not know what 'accusative', 'nomative', 'indicative' and so on mean in this case- pun intended?"

Motostoke (post-Slumbering Weald)

Kim: (looks over at Hoops) "Ah. Hoops. Delighted to see you."

(Peechee, meanwhile, looks up at Hoops, not having seen them before.)

Peechee: <Oh...? Kim, who is this veck? ^note  person Are they a droog ^note  friend of yours?>

Kim: (realizing) "Ah. Yes, they just joined. Peechee, this is Hoops. They're joining us on our journey through the Galar region."

Peechee: (delighted) <Zammechat! ^note  wonderful > (He walks up to Hoops and extends his claw.) <Hello! My eemya is Peechee, and I am a Kingler! Did you viddy ^note  see Zacian and Zamazenta, too?>

Hoops looks at Peechee, a look of non-comprehension on their face. "Um... yes," they say, shaking the claw. Then, turning to Kim. "It's good to see you as well, Kim."

Kim: "Likewise. Also, funny; 'yes' was actually the right answer; he was asking you if you saw Zacian and Zamazenta. I presume you have never heard of Nadsat before."

Motostoke Stadium, Post-Python

Evelyn: It's nice to meet you.

-Evelyn telekinetically lifts her Pokédex out of her pocket.-

Evelyn's Pokédex: Ledian, the Five Star Pokémon and the evolved form of Ledyba. A Bug and Flying type. It flies through the night sky, sprinkling sparkly dust. According to some, if that dust sticks to you, good things will happen to you. It uses starlight as energy. When more stars appear at night, the patterns on its back grow larger.

Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokémon. A Poison and Fire type. The males will do whatever the females tell them. They give the females most of their food. Due to malnutrition, the males can't evolve. It weakens opponents and sends them reeling with its poisonous gas. Salandit doesn't deal well with Spinda, since it's always reeling. Its venom sacs produce a fluid that this Pokémon then heats up with the flame in its tail. This process creates Salandit's poisonous gas.

Motostoke Stadium

Hoops shrugs. "I mean, I've heard of Nadsat, but I didn't have much on an education past the age of thirteen. It's a book or something right?"

Sal hears the pokedex and growls at it. <I don't need to be reminded of that> he yells, as though it can hear him.

Silas stared at the message he sent out, he pondered how Neon would get to the ship, the kid was resourceful for certain. Still, part of him was still in the "responsible" mode and panicking, he had told it to shut up for the time being, the Rebels plan would work.

All he had to do now was wait.

Roxy eased up a bit, "That's good, good to know."

She took a deep breath, and gave Jessica a hug, "Thanks, for being a friend."

Roxy turned and looked out the door, "It's just about time."

Silas looked up as an electronic chime was heard, he turned to everyone, "Time to go. Please get to your seats, it'll begin soon enough."

He passed by Ziltoid, who was tuning his guitar, and then passed by one of the last guests to arrive. A man who looked... familiar to those more versed in Kanto's checkered history, though the clean suit and beard, as well as the slight fat he had been putting on made it clear who he was.

"Hm, guess I'll talk with him later.

Victor adjusted his outfit and drifted off, Arthur going to his seat, smiling all the while.

Martin and Barty were already sat down, Martin looking a little less nervous, "Barty how are you not panicking?"

"Silas trusts these people, and we've got several J-Teamers, anything goes wrong we're safe," Was the response.

Motostoke Stadium

Me: Close...

Evelyn: I think it's a language from a book called... correct me if I'm wrong... A Clockwork Orange?

Me: -telepathically to Evelyn- ~If Hoops thinks that's crazy, wait 'til he meets Orwell...~

Evelyn: -to Sal- Also, I apologize for my Pokédex.

Me: Anyways, Evelyn and I are heading in to challenge the Gym. Would you like to watch?

Kim: "Yes, it is from A Clockwork Orange. It's a mix of English and Russian- among other languages- and serves as a form of slang."

Kim: "Don't worry, I'll explain what they are later." (then, turning to Hoops and Nigel) "Anyways, accusative of motion towards, 'domum.'"

Persephone Auditorium

Des blinked at Alice.

"...Oh. Right. Sorry..."

He looked like he was going to say something else but then the chime came on.

He held Kaiiseii tightly as they went to find their seats.

"You're too good for a fool like me, y'know?"

"Odd. You think they might need help?"

Des took another swig of the "light" beer.

"Hey what about that other place you wanted to show me?"

"So, the full phrase is Romani Ite Domum. How does that help us again?"

"Well, I was going to challenge the gym myself, but if you guys want to go first then by all means do so. We're happy to wait, and watching might give us an idea of the gym leader's tactics."
