Rowan: <Hm. I see....>
".. Oh, right! Food. Uh..." She looks around for some kind of menu.
"Yep. Fun.. Fun holiday tradition"
"Now what do I do" She says, to no one in particular.
The Volt Crash does especially heavy damage to EMPEROR- but the mon remains standing.
EMPEROR: <I don't much like the idea of cracking eggs, BUT...>
EMPEROR bides his time, waiting for others to finish attacking...
<IT SEEMS LIKE FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE HERE, THIS IS AN OMELETTE THAT NEEDS TO GET MADE->
"Arceus that's so cheesy" Daydre quickly wipes something off her face.
Rowan: <Are you...?>
And he rushes forward far faster than something (currently) his size should- flipper wreathed in a metallic sheen- and attempts to drive it straight through the Fanatic's main mass.
Φ: <Okay, I think you need to loosen up. You can't just grab power you need to make the power move on it's own. Like... Breathing I guess? You don't just grab air and stuff it in yer gob you let the air flow with a little force.>
-Mezzo picks up an incoming call on her Xtransceiver-
Forte: Piano? Hi, it's—
Mezzo: No, you can't borrow my Switch. -hangs up-
-Mezzo takes a sip of her (overly-sugared) tea and then answers as the phone rings again-
Forte: Are you really still sore about that?
Mezzo: Maybe. Anyway, what do you want now, if not that?
Forte: I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come along for my trials. All I have left is the Dark one, and since Pianis came with for the Ice one I thought I'd ask... we might need Sunny too, I'm not sure.
Mezzo: Hmm... nope.
Mezzo: Yeah, you heard me. I'm not helping the team on their raid or whatever, why should I help you on your vastly less important thing?
Forte: Not even if I bought you a malasada?
Mezzo: If you're trying to bribe me with sweets, you'll have to try harder than that.
Forte: Come on, though! It'd be cool! Besides, I mean—
Mezzo: Goodbye, Forte. -hangs up-
-the sun sets as Forte walks through the graveyard gates-
Forte: Ugh, why is she still such a grump? I'm not even asking for much, and she admitted she's not doing anything anyway!
Shadow: <I wouldn't worry too much about it. Meeting Sunny is nice, but the less we have to deal with that cat the better.>
-Forte walks past the various tombstones until stopping at a particular one-
Forte: This should be the place...
-Forte looks around, but no one appears to be in sight-
Shadow: <There's no one here. Let's come back another time.>
Forte: Yeah, I guess we should lea— Wah!
-Forte is interrupted by a hand touching their shoulder, causing them to leap and turn around-
-in front of them is a sprightly-looking old man-
Braiden: Leave? Before I've even given you your trial?
Forte: Uh, where'd you come from?
Braiden: I came back from the dead.
Forte: Okay... you must be Braiden, the Umbreon User, aren't you?
Braiden: You are correct, apprentice.
Forte: Did Kagetora tell everyone about me already?
Braiden: Well, you did take your sweet time getting to it.
Forte: I know, I know.
-a Caterpie crawls sloooowly up, dragging a menu-
-she goes to help it, and gets summarily shot in the face with string-
-this Caterpie is determined- ÚTů
Megan: -gasp- ;o;
-it may be tiny, but it's strong! with the strength in its heart, no task is too great!! all its friends are watching, and it! will!! make!! them!! proud!!!- ÚTů
-and after several geologic ages, it manages to prop the menu up on a convenient table-
-Oran Juice -water :c Vee: <Hey!>
-this last is circled many times-
Megan: -still beaming at a random light fixture- I do not know,,
-it's unclear if she's replying to Daydre or if it's her general-use space-filling statement-
Edited by Asterisk395 on Jan 6th 2020 at 1:38:46 PM
Braiden: So then, to your trial. It begins at sundown.
-Braiden's Umbreon walks out from behind his legs-
Forte: Uh, okay.
Braiden: It's a simple task. Survive a night in this graveyard. If either you or your Umbreon leaves the field before daybreak, you lose.
Braiden's Umbreon: <It'll be lots of fun...>
-Forte releases Stella-
Braiden: Are you ready? The sun's going down.
Forte: I think so? Is there gonna be, like, something dangerous happening?
Braiden: That's for me to know, and you to find out.
Braiden's Umbreon: <Good luck, young apprentices. You'll need it...>
Stella: <Whatever it is you're planning, I'll have you know I've been through far worse.>
Forte: Yeah, she's right. We've been through a lot. Spending a night in a spooky graveyard shouldn't be any trouble at all.
-the sun has completely set by now-
-Forte looks around; Braiden and his Umbreon have vanished from sight-
Forte: How does he do that?
Stella: <That's a little unnerving.>
Forte: Whatever. I guess let's set up camp. Hey Shadow, can you get the tent out?
-Forte looks over; Shadow is also gone, and in his place is a familiar-looking plushie-
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Light is fading from the world... now's the time of reckoning...
-as Forte and Stella set up their tent, dark clouds start rolling in-
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Moonlight all around... shadows on the ground...
-Forte gives the plushie a good kick, and it goes flying into the distance, quickly fading from sight-
-after a few seconds, it flies back into Forte's hands-
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Battlefield...
-Stella's ears perk up-
Stella: <We're being watched...>
-the clouds have completely covered the sky by now, covering the graveyard in near total darkness-
-but Stella, and Forte now that she's pointed it out, can spy the glint of a pair of red eyes staring at them-
-as Forte focuses on them, a ring of yellow becomes illuminated between them-
Forte: It's just an Umbreon. Probably Braiden's, making sure we do this trial right.
-Forte moves toward it, and suddenly dozens of other eyes light up from the darkness-
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Where we'll be when it's over...
-the Umbreon walks up to the tent, and now Forte can see it clearly-
Umbreon: <Huh? How did I get here?>
Stella: <Wait a second... Sunny, is that you?>
Sunny: <Oh, hi Stella! Hi Forte!>
Forte: Whoa whoa whoa, aren't you supposed to be back with Piano?
Sunny: <I was! But now I'm here for some reason.>
Forte: Something weird's going on.
Judith: -Looking towards the sky- You know, egg, you shouldn't have underestimated who you were dealing with, the multiverse is far bigger than your section of it.
-And presses on the odd object she was holding earlier-
-Reality opens and closes again as the sky above is filled with countless ships, the largest targeting their guns at the Fanatic-
It's... that fleet we saw back in Ultra Space.
Muddy: <So they've brought the really big guns.>
-a few hours have passed, Forte sitting at camp with the two Umbreons-
-the all-consuming darkness surrounds them, and they can still feel the gaze of many other things watching-
-Forte has tried throwing the plushie away many times, and each time it immediately comes back-
Forte: Well, I think we're doing the trial okay. Truthfully I don't know how much time it's been or what...
Stella: <It could be worse, we could be back in the nightmare dimension again.>
Forte: I don't want to think about that.
-Forte looks over to the plushie-
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Nothing's real, it's all a game...
Forte: You think we should go look for Shadow?
Stella: <We should, but we can't leave the cemetery.>
Sunny: <I think he'll be fine. He's tough.>
Forte: You have a point but still, I'm worried about him.
Stella: <I'm worried about what will happen if we venture out into that darkness. I still feel like we're being watched...>
Because you are.
Forte: Who's there?
Hehehe, why don't you come and find out?
Don't want to? Then I'll just have to make you!
-a tendril of shadows wraps around Sunny's leg-
Sunny: <Eeek! Help!>
-and drags him out of sight-
Forte: Hey! Come back!
-Forte and Stella rush out of their camp after him-
Dio: (blinks) <I... think that makes sense? Hang on...>
(He promptly shakes out his entire body to loosen it up, before closing his eyes again and concentrating as hard as he can. This time, he's surrounded by a dark aura.)
Dio: <I'm getting something...!>
The Oblivion wing fired retro and maneuvering thrusters, avoiding a probe narrowly, it began to turn towards the probes' origin point, sensitive cameras, radar equipment and so on detecting a small collection of asteroids. One of the benefits of space was that it was big enough to hold almost anything.
Bishop brought up two blocks of code in separate windows, "We're currently being assailed by electronic countermeasures, the code needed to run a ship like this is rather complex and thus I won't be fast enough alone at purging it from the systems."
The windows were labelled as A and B, "Code A currently has blocks appearing made of alien language, I am unable to translate them and they aren't shutting off systems thankfully but they are bricking notable features such as proper targeting and communications, the end result is that Code A must resemble Code B," Bishop explained highlighting alien words in the blocks.
"Are you ready Lt. Rever?"
The sensor suite put targets in front of Pent, and the gimballed controls of the blasters and the targeting sensors of missiles lit up.
You know if it wasn't for the fact that this is real, and dangerous, this would probably be a pretty fun game.
Tassa gripped onto Ganon tight as the synthetic gravity attempted to compensate for the sudden maneuvering, "Oh dear gods what have we gotten ourselves into?"
Blackquill marched in and picked Tassa up, <Come with me, get to your cabin and seal it tight, you will be safer there as we correct this. Grant-Dono has experience with these kinds of situations, as he has assured me.>
<Honestly it's just worse knowing that he's been through this before,> Ganon commented, acting as support for the panicking princess as they marched into their Cabin.
Silas adjusted attitude and orientation, he wished the ship had some form of bubble shield right now, "Note to self: Invest in shield technology from PEFE. Surely they have something."
The scans came in and he checked his side monitor, the probes were coming from a collection of rocks and metal about 15 clicks out, and judging by the design, many were now outright combat drones upset with the ship. Silas could only ponder why the hell they were coming after him? Asimov sent ships this way all the time, what made his ship so special?
Roxy stepped in, zipping up her spacesuit, "Hey Silas," she said before giving him a kiss on the cheek, "I need something?"
Silas looked over, and quirked a brow.
"I gotta take Hacks, and you have to depressurize the cargo bay."
Silas gave it some thought before, "Oh come on. You're taking my mech?"
"Hey the Captain is needed here to pilot and keep everyone calm, you can send out other pilots when possible, and you can fly it later. Right now though we need someone else out there," Roxy pointed out.
Silas grumbled, she had a point of course, which just bothered him more, he was feeling a bit petty.
"Okay. Hacks, do what she says."
~I'd joke that she's not the boss of me but considering everything else, I'll take it!~ He said rather excitedly.
Silas grumbled as the two headed off, "Attention all crew, I'll be reviewing scores for piloting very soon, we have two spare mechs in the hold, we may need to send them out very soon."
The doors opened soundlessly, Roxy and Hacks thankful that the artificial gravity still worked as the hangar doors opened, they entered Horizon and booted it up, fuel was good, air was good, consumables were good. Hacks got into his seat and readied himself, grinning, thankful something exciting had happened at last.
"This is Roxanne Ribbon in the ASP-Horizon, launching!" Roxy said with a smile behind her helmet, as the mech flew out, and into the fray, just as combat drones had arrived, as well as several smaller ones that flew right into the cargo bay, and forced the doors open to get in.
Boarders had entered the ship, Silas groaned audibly over the intercom, "We have boarders as well, somebody handle that!"
Me: We're being boarded?!
Piku-chan: <Oh, that doesn't sound good...>
Me: Well... If someone's going to determine if the boarders are friend or foe, let it be us...
Evelyn: Hey... Ian...
Me: Yeah, Evelyn?
Evelyn: Can me and Hatty join your band?
Me: I'd like to say yes, but we need to find out what Kim would say...
-to Kim- Hey, Kim! Evelyn was wondering if...
-Ian notices the dark aura surrounding Dio.-
Me: Looks to me like Dio's getting the hang of it...

-Forte and Stella cautiously take a few steps forward-
=after a few moments, their tent has also vanished from sight-
Forte: Sunny? Shadow? Are you guys out there?
They belong to us now.
Creepy Shadow Plushie: Nowhere to run... nowhere to hide...
The darkness is playing tricks on you... you can't see the way forward...
Forte: Do you see anything, Stella?
-Stella shakes her head-
Stella: <I've never seen darkness like this before. It's like something is trying to block our sight.>
Forte: So this is like... advanced darkness?
Pretty soon you'll belong to the darkness too.
-Stella spots a pair of eyes looking right at her, and looks back with a Mean Look-
???: <Could you not?>
-Forte steps a bit closer and finds the source to be Shadow-
Hey, you can't do that!
Shadow: <Stop staring at me like that. I can't move.>
Forte: What happened to you?
I told you, he belongs to the darkness now.
And that means you can't have him.
-a dark tendril wraps around Shadow's leg and pulls on it...-
-...but can't actually budge him because he's still under Stella's harsh gaze-
Shadow: <Please stop this.>
Come on! Really?
-another one comes out of the darkness to slap Stella, but she doesn't even budge-
Stella: <Let him go.>
???: <Make me.>
"Let's do this," he said, determination in his voice.
(Upon seeing the dark aura surrounding Dio, Kim, Paul and Sinatra instantly light up, joy spreading across their faces.)
Sinatra: (happily) <Alright—!>
Kim: "Great work, Dio!"
(Dio still has his eyes closed, but upon hearing his Trainer's voice, he cracks open one eye. Upon seeing the dark aura surrounding him, his eyes instantly widen, and he gazes at his claws in disbelief.)
Dio: <I'm... doing it?> (he breaks out into a big grin) <I'm doing it! I'M DOING IT!>
(In the midst of his celebration, he starts jumping up and down, quickly losing focus; the dark aura fades in an instant. Dio doesn't seem to notice at first, though.)
Dio: (not noticing) <I-> (and then he notices) <-hey, what happened to the dark aura?>
Okay, I'm through playing nice with you.
-a small glint of light momentarily appears in the blackness, then...-
-a black hole appears above Forte, drawing themself and Stella toward it-
Forte: Whoa whoa whoa!
-Forte grabs Stella and makes a run for it, crashing straight into another person-
-which causes the black hole to dissipate-
???: Really, Forte? Really? You just had to go and mess everything up, didn't you?
Me: Looks like this isn't going to be easy after all...
Forte: Piano? Wait, what are you doing here?
-as the darkness fades, Forte sees that the person they crashed into is indeed their big sister-
Mezzo: I was supposed to be administering your trial, then you messed it up.
-the dark tendril curled around Shadow's leg is now clearly visible as the front paw of a particular Liepard-
Shadow: <You know, I was just saying how nice it would be if I didn't have to deal with you tonight.>
Felis: <Too bad.>
Forte: So wait. All that stuff that was happening... that was you?
Mezzo: What kind of goth would I be if I didn't know how to freak people out?
Sunny: <We had the rest of the team make that dark shroud.>
Felis: <It was incredibly obnoxious. Almost as much as you.>
Forte: I can't believe this.
-Braiden steps out from the shadows behind Mezzo-
Braiden: Well, regardless of that, you and your Umbreon kept your cool and showed no fear. I'd call this a successful trial.
Sunny: <And I helped!>
(Dio instantly sinks. Kim muses for a bit, before taking out her notebook and writing down the following:)
CURRENTLY MEETING UP WITH PENTIGAN (LAST NAME UNKNOWN) TO TEACH DIO DARK PULSE. UNFORTUNATELY, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT AS EASY AS I THOUGHT. DIO KEEPS FREAKING OUT AND LOSING FOCUS...
(And then the realization suddenly hits her, and she snaps her fingers.)
Kim: "That's it!"
(Dio blinks and looks up towards his Trainer.)
Dio: <What's it?>
Kim: "You lost focus when you started freaking out. That's why the dark aura faded."
(Dio looks down at his claws.)
Dio: <Well, I'll be had... Should I try it again?>
Kim: "Yeah, try it again, but this time, don't lose focus."
(He closes his eyes again, standing there for a few moments, and instantly the dark aura begins to surround his entire body once again.)
Dio: <Do I have it?>
(Kim looks over at Dio's body before smiling and nodding at him.)
Kim: "Yep. You can open your eyes."
(He does so, and once again sees the dark aura surrounding him.)
Kim: "Good. Now stay focused."
Dio: (nods in determination) <Got it.> (he turns to Phi) <Alright, Phi, what's next?>
(While Phi is giving the lessons to Dio, Kim turns to Ian.)
Kim: "Anyways, what was that you were saying before about Evelyn?"
Me: Well... Evelyn's wondering if she and Hatty can join our band...
Kim: (elated) "Are you kidding?! Of course you can join!"
Evelyn: Oh, thank you! Thank you! Did you hear that, Hatty?
Hatty: <Yeah, I heard!>
Evelyn: We're gonna be part of a band!
Me: So, how's Dio's training going?
Forte: Now hang on, you said you didn't want to help with this trial!
Mezzo: I didn't, no. But pranking you? That's something I'm always up for.
Braiden: I heard your sister was a famous Dark trainer, so I contacted her for advice and we set things up together.
Forte: I should have figured.
Mezzo: Besides, you're right, Sunny did need a chance to help his family out on this.
-Braiden hands Forte a black crystal-
Braiden: It's always darkest before the dawn. But no matter what you do, the sun still rises at the end.
Mezzo: So you know that black hole we hit you with? This lets you do that.
Braiden: And congratulations, young apprentice, on completing all your trials. I'm sure Kagetora will be pleased.
Mezzo: Anyway, you promised me some malasadas?
Forte: Yeah, yeah. Let's go grab some.
Morgan: Thank you! -That was quick.-
Milagros would be walking around the Stormchaser for anyone to interact with.
Insert Caddicarus here, sitting at his desk with nothing to do. He's probably repeatedly saying "bored" under his breath too. Just then, Slaughter appears.
Slaughter: <Well, why not take on the Galar league?>
Caddicarus: ...the what?
Slaughter: <The Galar league. You haven't heard of it?>
Caddy just shrugged in respond.
Caddicarus: I mean, I guess it's something to do. I'm gonna need a bigger team though.
He would slowly start getting up.
Caddicarus: Looks like we're going to the Safari Zone.
-Revy I cracks his neck. As his head moves around, it becomes apparent that not everything is exactly...intact. Though Baccarat's Sacred Fire removed a lot of the decay, there are places where bits are missing, and they've been replaced with something almost like plant growth mimicking human skin and muscle-
Brie: Reminds me of Z— Gah!
-Revy II tosses her aside, dashing towards Revy I-
Revy II: It's an honor, sir!
Revy I: Mmm, I might expect such fealty, yes.
Ever: ...Am I the only one who's not catching, like...any of his [Japanese]?
Amanita: It's really archaic.
Ever: Like, 600-years-old archaic?
Amanita: Pretty much.
Ever: How'd we understand him when he was haunting us?
Amanita: Of the two of us, I think you're the one more qualified to talk about ghost bullshit.
Ever: Okay, fair.
Revy I, oh boy this will be complex: Wherefore whisper you, children?
Ever: Uh, no reason?
How About Revy I Just Gets To Be Cinnamon?: Pardon?
Amanita: 'Tis no matter.
Amanita: I've got this. Relax.
-it's at this point that PEFE!Every comes running up, a massive serpent made of Dunsparce crawling behind her-
PEFE!Every: Oh. Have we lost?
Edited by memyselfandI2 on Jan 7th 2020 at 12:52:00 PM
Kim: "You're welcome. And let me see...?"
(she turns to Phi and Dio— the latter still has the dark aura surrounding him)
Dio: (excitedly) <So... what do I need to do next?>
