"Normally, within time, the confusion wears off, but when hypnotized, people's brains are much more fragile. Until they manage to shake off their trance, don't use it." Ammy warned. "It's like throwing gasoline on a grease fire."

-In the ship's lounge, two red-clad girls can be found. Rose is playing the latest Capumon game on a Switch hooked up to the lounge TV, while Scarlette is laying with her head in Rose's lap, watching.-

Scarlette: -pointing- That one's cute. I want one.

Rose: Of course you do, you're the dog lover.

Scarlette: Dogs are good, Rose.

Gabrielle: "As a trainer with a dogmon, I concur."

-She and Liz stand behind Rose and Scarlette.-

Silas blinked a bit, he clicked to the toroidal design, "First up. Colton we've had Fusion Reactors for a few years now, solar, wind, and hydro are good but they still need something to offset them, most power plants now are underground and have large reactors like this. Remember also, your mech in the cargo hold is powered by a microreactor, as such it has less operation time than a city or this ship."

To Julius, "Well Stars make do with their own gravitational force to ensure their reactions remain stable. Magnemites were very helpful in the late 50s to early 60s in advancing the study of Nuclear Fusion containment, a few grams of deuterium can run a small city for a few weeks with the proper magnetic containment procedures up. Magnezones themselves also proved vital in the late 90s in understanding magnetic lift properties for anti-gravity devices. Which leads me to my next step."

To Tommy, "My comment about small cities should make that clear, the reactors are in fact properly sized for what they're doing. The reactors needed for modern ships are appropriately sized to generate plasma and energy needed for spaceflight and life support, my ship's back section has a reactor room that generates the energy needed for life support, artificial gravity, the thrusters, and the magnetic life my ship uses to float through the air. Asimov already has a few contracts in select cities across the planet to work on improving the reactors used. Power for everyone and all."

Roxy raised her hand, "Aren't you going to explain how these things work?"

"Oh right."

A diagram of the toroid itself came up, "The toroid is a magnetic containment device, plasma is generated by nuclear fusion of hydrogen or helium atoms which releases energy, in our case deuterium is a perfectly acceptable fuel source. The result is plasma which must be contained for the energy to be harnessed, magnetic containment works by producing a field which contains the plasma through electromagnetism. This is where the Fusion Engine comes in."

Silas grinned as he clicked to a diagram of the fusion engine, with a blue ball at the end of the nozzel, "A fusion engine works by making a magnetic "bottle" of sorts to contain the plasma reaction at the end, the better the containment the better the efficiency of the "bottle". The plasma itself being highly energetic produces heat, energy, and importantly, force, which when coupled with the design of the thrusters meant to magnetically push away from the ship, well that's how you get fusion thrust."

"Didn't the very first fusion ship of Asimov, the Olympus make it to Mars in 3 days?" Roxy asked.

<Whatever happened to it?> Tae asked.

Silas looked less pleased, "Well the thing is, the ship's design could only sustain enough fuel and burn for a trip to Mars, we thought we had cracked the equation, turns out we hadn't. The ship itself was a torch drive, it could burn continuously and generate a artificial gravity via thrust, hence it being a flying office building, a constant acceleration of 9.8 m/s2 would generate 1 G and get you to Mars in 3 days, including the point needed to flip around and decelerate. Unfortunately turns out the systems were slowly slagging themselves every time we used it, it lasted longer than expected but the ship is ultimately a museum piece at Asimov Island now."

Roxy blinked, "Oooooh, that's another reason why this ship can't fly to Mars isn't it? The engines aren't strong enough to sustain a burn of that caliber."

"Correct, thermodynamics has rules it likes to follow, and since I haven't heard back from the techs on Megan's infinite energy idea, anyone headed to Mars has to rely on slow burn ships, which can constantly accelerate but take a week and a half to reach Mars. 5.5 days to burn to Mars, 5.5 days to decelerate. Them's the rules, they still got gravity but very weak gravity."

Tassa sighed, "So what you're saying is visiting the red planet is highly unlikely."

"If not impossible right now, and with this ship would take even longer as we can only sustain enough burn to the moon and back in 18 hours currently."

Tassa sighed, looking at Ganon, "To think, we could see what they stuck on there."

<A fake kingdom meant to lure a monster to his doom.>

Silas smirked, "Still, pick your heads up a bit, we've made it quite far and thanks to Pokemon we're even farther than before. Sure our plans are measured in decades if not centuries but we've got time."

"Speaking of which Captain, we're on approach to Persephone, please get to the cockpit to guide us in."

Silas nodded, "Coming Bishop. Roxy take everyone down to the lower deck please, the cabins have windows for them to observe."

Roxy grinned and gave a thumbs up, "Come on everyone! The Lounge has a proper window window to see us dock with the station!" she exclaimed excitedly stepping out of the room.

Muggy wiggled and followed after her.

"... I guess I haven't been keeping up with news as well as I thought," he allowed, embarrassed beyond belief. "Or... paying attention to what I've been involved in."

Suddenly holding and drinking a can of lemonade, for some reason white text reading "dumbass juice" appeared on his hand like he was in a reaction image as he walked.

-Ian and Piku-chan follow Roxy to the Lounge of the Oblivion Wing-

Me: To think, with the help of Pokémon, we'll be able to explore more of the universe in a few years or so!

Piku-chan: <Yeah! I wonder what Pokémon can be found out there...>

Me: Me too, Piku-chan... Me too...

-Ian and Piku-chan arrive in the Lounge and look out the windows, where they can see the station, Persephone-

-Elizabeth blushes, but Gabrielle simply pushes her glasses up her nose.-

Gabrielle: "Now Rose, I think we can all appreciate a woman who knows what she wants. And what Scarlette here wants is a woman as beautiful as herself."

-She winks.-

Elizabeth: "Aaaa baby cat save me"

-She squats and pats the Litten.-

Kaiiseii: "Well, we got plenty of time left until we abandon our planet to begin colonizing."

Scarlette: Aww, that's sweet.

Rose: You know that video with the woman and the salad? You're doing this right in front of my salad.

-She gestures so as to indicate the Switch as the object of the salad metaphor.

Scarlette: Oh, fine, we'll tone it down. Your lap's too comfortable for me to lose my spot here.

-Rose pats Scarlette's head, then goes ahead and catches the previously mentioned dog Capumon and name it "Salad". The Litten nuzzles Liz's hand, purring.-

-Gabrielle sits on the couch (I assume it's a couch) next to Rose and Scarlette.-

Gabrielle: "So, [Sword] or [Shield]?"

-She pauses and looks over her shoulder.-

Gabrielle: "Are you alright down there, Elizabeth?"

Elizabeth: "Very."

-She scratches behind Java's ears.-

Elizabeth: "Lunala cats are so perfect."

-She offers some Skittynip from her pocket.-

Rose: [Sword], definitely.

Scarlette: Y'know, that reminds me, I'm thinking of doing another league challenge, once this whole multiverse thing blows over. You game?

Rose: ...Mmm. I think I've pretty much accepted it's not for me. Besides, I'm gonna be busy with... y'know.

-She glances over at Elizabeth, whom Java is simply enraptured by, especially with the introduction of Skittynip.-

Scarlette: ...The whole thing with the bunch of you folks, right. And you-know-who.

-She frowns.-
