Jenny: Actually, some of these look quite nice.
-She pulls an armband out of the defective stock bin.-
Jenny: I wonder why this was in-
-Poof. There is now a Taillow on the floor.-
Taillow!Jenny: <Why is everything so big all of a sudden?>
I used to plug my deviantart here but turns out the link was too long.Ersatz Alliance

Ersatz Alliance
A pair dressed as a armored knight and an elegantly dressed princess enter, followed by what appears to be a young fellow of indeterminate gender wearing a squire's outfit. They are followed by an archeops with a falconing helm and a ponyta wearing horse armor. Perched on the knight's broad hero-like shoulders is a spinarak with a peculiar color scheme.
Thierry: This is definitely not the really private eatery tent I was looking for. How is there a department store here?
Stephanie: Crap.
"How do I talk myself out of this one," she murmured.
Stephanie: Oh, how bizarre.
Thierry: Mlle. Hawthorn, do you happen to know where we are?
Stephanie: Um... ugh...
Elsie: <Oh, boy, she's got a lot of explaining to do.>
Chris: <Would you believe me if I told you this is where she buys clothes?>
Tobi: <Fascinating.>
Stephanie: I took a class in Monese in college, Elsie.
Alder, mimicking a human: She's got you there.
Elsie: <But can you do this!?>
Elsie morphed from a ponyta into a Lucario.
Stephanie: No. But that doesn't really phase me.
Thierry: What is going on here?
Stephanie: Elementary, my dear Lestrade.
Alder: Ooooh. Burn.
Alder turns to her trainer and morphs back into a zoroark.
Alder: <He usually prefers to be the Sherlock, so that's one sick burn.>
Thierry: Heh, Lestrade. It's because I'm Kalosian.
Stephanie: No, because you're usually not exactly on top of this situation. See, if I explain to you what this place is, you're going to freak out, but since you brought up the need to protect Tobi here, we're exactly where we need to be.
Thierry: Touché.
Stephanie: Look, Pretty Boy, you're not gonna believe me if I say this—
Thierry: I'm a detective. Try me.
Stephanie: Okay, there was no way that wasn't a double entendre. Not complaining or anything. But still, not what I'm here to talk about. You wanted a private place so we can talk about why you have Tobi, and here we are. And trust me on this, this is perhaps the best place we could solve this issue.
Thierry raised his eyebrow. This complicates things. His instincts tell him to trust Stephanie, but that may not be the best time to trust them.

Cubone!Byleth: -to Lysithea, a small, sincere smile- <Congratulations.>
-to everyone- <We need to establish a base of operations, since we no longer have the monastery. And perhaps find a way to restore our previous forms.>
-nod, to Catherine- <Or find a way home.>
<And in the meantime, to know more about this world. If we can all meet, I can get some information for everyone.>
-imperceptibly worn-out, too many non-teaching words at once- <If that is all, we can depart at once.>
Logan: -nod- ...right, yeah. Will this be dangerous?
Suiko: -to Stranger, in that soft, strangely lilting voice of hers- We're not concerned. After all, he summoned us to his side.
-and she smirks, a slash of clear white beneath the shadow cast by the brim of her lilypad hat-
Don't be a stranger, Stranger.
-and she drifts into the darkness, a hand reaching out beneath the cloak to trace the water pipes within the walls-
-to Jackal- Of course we are ready.
-tendrils trace along the walls, giving the strangest impression of eyes-
-grin, hushed- And we are watching.
Given vents or porous walls, non-Auric surveillance and intervention will not be an issue.
Would anyone like to be hooked in?
Megan: Uh, for the purposes of this, the liquid energy assets of two or three mons is...
-glance- ...dangerously insufficient.
Vee: <'m sure if I jus' like eat a lake—>
Pippy: -nudging her- <Oh, let's just show up at the lake buffet, party of three—>
Vee: -sniff- <Don' be ridiculous. Y'all can't eat lakes.>
Megan: -pressing on- Fortunately, these trials will be supplemented by...
-Megan examines her massive Switch Axe, a pink halberd roughly as tall as she is, embedded upright in the earth, formed from an elegant arrangement of flower-patterned organic materials and bearing a built-in foldable sign reading "A Fond Farewell"-
Megan: ...a slightly unusual Primal Energy distilling device.
-she unhooks the latest charge vial, jumping a bit at the shock-
Megan: -examining it- Using Substitute homunculi as measurement vessels, we've determined that one vial, at full efficiency, is roughly equivalent to...
-glancing at a page- ...five Hydro Pump PP on the revised Kukui scale (2019), from an Empoleon of "level 45" on the Oak (Junior) standard. Or three Hydro Pump PP, from a Vaporeon of...
...
-glancing at her Dex- ...that can't be right.
Vee: <What?>
Megan: Uh...do you know how strong you are?
Vee: -primly- <Always.>
Megan: -shows her the screen-
Vee: <...>
<Hey, P, d'ya know how strong I am?>
Pippy: -concerned- <Every day of my life.>
<Why, what's—>
-blink-
-squint- <...why are there letters?>
Megan: That bit looks like a "thirty", but also it's different from what I wrote down.
-scratching head- I'm not really sure what I wrote down, but it also looks wrong.
Vee: <Gimme an estimate, pal.>
Pippy: <With my heart, or—?>
Vee: -shrug- <Follow Uxie. An' lowball it.>
Pippy: <...hmmmmm...>
-lightly- <Weeeell, when I, an impartial intellectual, consider my compiled list of your (rather endearing) character flaws, various errors of judgement, and accumulated hobbies...>
Vee: -entering noogieing range- <Yeeeees?>
Pippy: -stroking his lower beak- <I'd say...>
-squint into the middle distance- <...>
-inhale-
-[Spongebob] narrator voice- ~One Argument Later~
Megan: -visibly frazzled- ...roughly equivalent to three Hydro Pump PP from an Aurically aberrant Vaporeon of "approximated level 51".
Pippy: -crossed flippers- <Eighty.>
Vee: -snarl- <Forty-six, final offer.>
Megan: -scoot away- We will be using twelve of these.
-turn, pace- Second, the methods involved.
