essentially the royal bastard of the Kingdom of Stramdor's King. He is a Snarky Knight ala Alistair from Dragon Age, but quite different in certain respects. Basically an exile, he finds himself embroiled in his old home's politics.
@ Nick: That concept would be very hard to do... Especially since he would have nothing to do for about half the RP. We'll start with a few would be heroes from a little peaceful village in the middle of nowhere... So a King's bastard has nearly nothing to do there.
@ Neo: Auch, my condolences... I've had that happen to me a bunch of times. Damn, urge to press the refresh button.
He would not be affiliated with the royal throne, like, at all.
As in, chased out of the whole state, held in his mother's arms at age 4 kind of "chased out of the Kingdom". So, logically, he would not really know he even was a bastard of any royal kind, since, realistically, his mother would not want her son to grow up stained by his heritage.
Essentially, a Luke, I Am Your Father situation later. King tries to pull it on him, like "I am your father, join me!"
"Fuck. No. You chased my mother out of here for the sake of your own honor, killed anyone who knew about it, and you expect me to join you? Well, don't you just sound like father of the year material."
- Name: Anthony Ridge
- Gender: Male
- Age: 24
- Appearance: A rugged looking man with plenty of muscle, Anthony is an imposing figure despite his average height. His tanned skin reflects Anthony's active, hardworking nature, and his eyes and hair are the brown of the earth. Wears regular clothing that allows ease of movement.
- Personality: A youthful man, full of plenty of energy and always ready to put his everything into any task that lays before him. Is occasionally Hot-Blooded, and cares a great deal about people - especially his companion, Lilia White.
- Backstory: As a teenager, Anthony used to get into plenty of trouble, much to his father's disapproval. To get his son more disciplined, Anthony's dad sent him to the Lire monastery to train as a monk. While there, Anthony met Lilia White, a young woman trying to become a priestess. The two of them talked about the outside world together, and eventually, he convinced Lilia to run off with him to see the real world for their own eyes. After a few years of traveling the countryside, the two of them returned home for the festival, and for Anthony to resolve some issues between him and his dad.
- Abilities: A Mighty Glacier; while he lacks speed, Anthony can deal mighty blows with his fists, feet, head... any part of his body, really. His endurance and stamina match this strength, and he is capable of channeling magic from the earth itself to augment his already impressive capabilities.
- Name: Lilia White
- Gender: Female
- Age: 22
- Appearance: Beautiful and delicate, Lilia stands at a contrast to her traveling companion Anthony. Has fair skin, autumn red hair, and sky blue eyes. Wears a simple robe.
- Personality: Quiet and reserved, Lilia is not one to stand out as much as Anthony, but she shares his kind heart, caring for and wanting to help others.
- Backstory: At the urging of her parents, Lilia joined the monastery of the Lady of the Hills to train as a priestess. There she met a certain Anthony Ridge, who talked about how much he wanted to see the world. He convinced her to go out and see the world for him, abandoning her training as a full-fledged priestess. Lilia followed Anthony back into Lire and has been by his side for several years.
- Abilities: Lilia is capable of using nature magic to heal people, cure them of ailments, or improve their natural abilities. She prefers to support others but is fully capable of casting some mid-level elemental offensive spells, and could learn more devastating ones given the proper instruction. Of course, as a Squishy Wizard, she doesn't have too much stamina or strength.
- Notable Possessions: a simple wooden staff.
@ Nick: Sorry Nick, but I doubt we'll be seeing the King of Stramdor on the RP. He's on the capital of his Kingdom and it his heirs who are tasked with managing the invasion of Estia. Besides since it's would be a secret that he is his son I don't see how the King could even learn of that.
@ Starbound: Accepted, both of them. They both got something I wanted for the start of the RP.
- Name: Johnson Viandas
- Gender: Male
- Age: 15
- Appearance: A rather rugged, dirty looking kid with persistently messy looking black hair and dark blue eyes. He is remarkably muscular for a "kid", and very tall. He wears a whole suit of black armor, and he carries a huge BFS across his back which he can use much easier than it would be suggested. He has already started developing stubble. He radiates an air of danger, mostly because of his personality.
- Backstory: As a child, he was signed up by his father, Fredrick, an Estian Nobleman, to be trained to be the "Heir Son". He did not much like the idea, mostly because it involved Break the Cutie attempting to duplicate Fredrick. He ran away after he was "attacked" by the knight who was training him for some perceived slight. The man was always drunk outside of training, and so was a harsh man most of the time. Following his self imposed exile, he became a Child Soldier mercenary, and a quite feared figure. He is in Lyre mainly to have a vacation and try to sneak some drinks in.
- Personality: He is combative, out going, a bit of a pervert, a Blood Knight who enjoys a good fight, but currently, he is worn out after fighting in a major battle. He has a bleak world view. He does dislike the Kingdom for something that happened in the previous battle which resulted in his "vacation".
- Abilities: very strong and surprisingly fast, but he is mostly a Tank. He also seems a bit too resilient on occasion.

- Name: Andrew Woods
- Gender: Male
- Age: 19
- Appearance: Tall and lanky, reddish brown hair and green eyes. Cute, boyish face (which he bemoans frequently). Above average quality clothes (though a practised eye will spot the repair jobs), tends to keep himself clean and neat.
- Personality: Doesn't quite suffer from Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!, but close. Definitely a man of Fleeting Passionate Hobbies, Andrew has just about done everything Lire has to offer. He's kind of reserved when he first meets people but often after becoming friends they'll occasionally reminisce about when he was quiet.
- Backstory: Andrew's family are city-folk, and his father is the local fixer. The man can fix almost anything, and taught Andrew as much as he could. Instilled with a love of learning, the boy pestered and watched everyone to get a basic grasp of everything. Though a lot of it he doesn't understand the why behind and would probably screw up if he tried himself since he wouldn't understand the significance of some variable. One notable area he hasn't been able to properly investigate is magic.
- Abilities: Andrew's greatest abilities are his quick wit, fingers and feet. He has weedled some combat lessons out of the guard - mostly unarmed and a little pike work - but doesn't have much really experience. He has also tried to teach himself knife fighting, since they're a weapon he could get his hands on. Not that he's much of a fighter.
Very much not specialised, though he might become a thief, mage of some sort or something different altogether as the game progresses.
You must agree, my plan is sheer elegance in its simplicity! My Tumblr@ Luthen: Perfect, with some luck we'll find something for Andrew to specialize on the RP... or maybe he'll multi-class? We'll see.
@ Nick: Way better, but it still gives me the question of how he winded up on Lire. That's like the last place people would need a mercenary in. Especially considering how there's fighting almost everywhere else.
Name: Alan Shepard
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Height/Weight: 173cm/161 pounds
Appearance: Long wavy hair down to his shoulders and a rugged looking face. Wears clothes like these.
◊ Not high-class stuff but a practical middle-class outfit. Is muscular but relatively slim for his strength.
Personality: Cheerful and upbeat most times. Tends to form close relationships with others given time. Is slightly idealistic on philisophical stuff but takes a practical side once more realistic problems pop up.
Background: Alan is a shepherd (Surprise, surprise), and goes around quite a bit far from the town at times for his sheep to omnom. His dad takes care of one flock and Alan takes care of another. Lived a completely normal life though his mother died early so he has only one younger sister who takes care of the household chores.
Maintains a family heirloom one handed sword from generations back. Also bought a buckler as a birthday presesnt for himself a few years back. He practices in his free time but isn't a trained professional or anything.
Name: Kincadis Ala Rosso
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height/Weight: 5 feet 9 inches tall
Appearance: Somewhat long red hair, green eyes and rather pale. Usually wears rather scrappy looking clothes and a bandanna. His right arm looks badly scarred, but this is mostly just his Tell for the fact he has some demon blood in him, which manifests as a claw that looks like The Guren's.
Personality: rather Keetish, he is easily excitable, but is a dogmatic kid who is eager to prove to people that he can help out in these situations, such as what is going on with the Kingdom. Kincadis is very nice and loyal, but also a Fatalist, in that he believes if something is going to happen, there is no sense in fighting it. He is Straight Gay, and not very open about this part of his personality.
Background: Kin was born as the son of a union between a demon and a human woman, and this resulted in him obtaining some useful powers from his bloodline, which had some demons in it. His name, Kincadis, is derived from the demon lord Cadis, his oldest ancestor on his demonic side, and thus, he is called Kin of Cadis. Ala Rosso just means Of the Red. The claw arm explains that fairly well.
He is in Lire to hide, and is covering his Tell with a long sleeve.
Abilities: His arm can, if latched on to someone for long enough, sends a destructive pulse through them, resulting in...much the same effect as the Guren's arm has.

- Name: Vermidespina / Mina the tavern wench
- Species: Dragon
- Gender: Female
- Age: 75
- Appearance: Vermidespina usually poses as a youthful easy-in the eye fair-skinned young woman, with an oval shaped face, long, auburn hair and bewitching golden eyes. She has slightly pointy canines (although still normal for an human), and freckles. Her true form is much more impressive, however. She is a barely adult red dragon, whose body bulk (without wings) is comparable to an elephant, with glossy red scales, slim body and a face that has usually a cruel sneer.
- Personality: Vermidespina is two faced, befitting her double life. As a barmaid, she's rather lively and sarcastic, loving to play mind games with the patrons, and also teasing them into giving more tips. Her true self is colder and pragmatic, approaching the world in a polite, business-like demeanor. A trait to both personas is a greed she doesn't even bother to hide.
- Backstory: Vermidespina was initially sighted a couple of decades ago in the mountains of Lire, having parted with the rest of her clutch siblings upon reaching adulthood. She chose the area around Lire seeking an easy place to predate and stablish a territory upon. Initially feeding on cattle and wild animals, she now has set her sights on the town, using her magic to pose as barmaid for reconaissance before she finally makes her mind in revealing herself and coercing the town to her servitude. Recent events are making her reconsider her plans. While she can handle a few villagers with sticks and the occasional adventurer party, an invading army is something that is a dire threat to her plans, and she would not be above siding with the villagers on this matter.
- Abilities: Vermidespina knows how to cook and serve drinks, and she's adept at talking and convicing people. She's also a consumate liar. She has the same prowess as a villager handling weapons (that is, nil), but she can use magic fueled by her draconic nature. While she's subpar when compared to a talented magic user, she can still use a slew of tricks such as gaining a human shape, short-range scrying spells, enchanting her lair with detection glyphs, some basic mind-altering charm spells and basic healing. She prefers to fight in her natural form with her natural arsenal and fire breath, and she's proficient at using claws, mouth, tail, and even strafing runs to scorch her foes. Needless, she needs to be outside or in wide spaces to fight to her full extent.
- Notable Possessions:A lair up in the mountains, where she intends to store her hoard. The lair is usually closed with a boulder, and has detection spells that would warn Vermidespina should someone attempted to enter uninvited.

@ Nick: Hmmm on Johnson I'm a little hesitant since I still don't see what reason he would have to tag along. Also maybe I'm thinking the worst since I don't see a personality entry and the things I have to guess it by is that he's been mistreated and a feared mercenary... Which is not exactly hero material.
On Kinkadis, I would like it if you add an Abilities entry to know the extend of his powers. Also remove the Archdemon part, a regular old demon is strong enough as it is. Also I would like to know which relation he has to Lire... demons and anything connected to them are shunned for a good reason and a woman having the child of a demon is the kind of news that would spread quickly since he has such a clear marking.
@ Atomic: Approved!
Kincadis is in hiding and covering his arm.
Johnson is in Lire on vacation.
- also, LOL Kinkadis. Yes, Kincadis is gay, but he has no kinks, Daltar. Shame on your dirty mind.

So here we go, a new Fantasy RP for the Tv Tropes Forum. It will have a lot of magic, new powers, plenty of locales, young heroes, a long journey, elemental temples, a myriad of Gods and an invading power to deal with. So lets us see the setting to our story.
The Land of Estia is a very diverse human realm composed of seven great city-states and a great number of small towns. Just as the country is divided, so are the faiths at the hearts of it's inhabitants. Through the country a myriad of different deities are worshiped, some humble guardians of a certain land, others representing certain virtues, some look over those of a certain profession. For a long time this has been the way of things and while the people of Estia are no strangers to conflict, their existence has been stable for a long time now.
That was until two years ago.
The coastal city of Glenabor, owner of the biggest harbor and fleet in all of Estia was struck with a great disaster. A storm unlike any other all but wiped out their fleet and destroyed most of the port.
The powerful Kingdom of Stramdor, guided by the great deity Mishnall of the Light, saw this event as their cue to invade. Without Glenabor's fleet to protect their waters, soon the army of Stramdor was able to gain a foothold on the lands of Estia to launch it's invasion. Unprepared for the attack, outclassed and outnumbered by the might of the Kingdom, fight after fight and town after town was lost for the people of Estia and a year after the storm of Glenabor, Tiramen the biggest city in Estia and the closest thing the land has to a capital has fallen under control of Mishnall's followers.
Through all this time the church of Mishnall has been hard at work, planting itself onto this new land. Altars, offerings, shrines and everything associated with the Gods of the conquered lands have been outlawed and destroyed. It has been rumored that even the Gods themselves have been killed along with those who refuse to quit their worship.
It has been a year since the fall of Tiramen and while the news that come into the town are grim, the life of the people of Lire have been unchanged by the invasion. Lying far away from the great cities and surrounded by tranquil lush hills, a view of great forested mountains the town of Lire has been untouched by true conflict since many generations ago. So the people of Lire prepare for their spring festival in honor of their Goddess, the Lady of the Hills.
However, while the battle for Estia still rages on, the peace of Lire will soon be interrupted as they learn how far the influence of Stramdor reaches.
As you might have guessed players will start in the town of Lire, though it is not obligatory it is recommended to have your character be someone born in this peaceful town. The objective is to put an end to the conflict in Estia... and to have as much fun as we can in the process.
The Rp will probably have quite a lot of combat so it is preferred if your character has some battle skills. Even though the people of Lire haven't had a true menace in a long time it doesn't mean that they don't have a small guard and that some of their townspeople know how to handle themselves in a fight.
The combat in the RP will not stick to what would be realistic in our world, the inhabitants of this fantasy world can be tougher and more agile than it would be possible in Earth. Don't be afraid to include some fancy acrobatics into your posts.
As for what your character might be... Almost everything works as long as I don't see it as too silly or broken. The country of Estia is mostly populated by humans, though more fantastical species also make their home by their side. Angels, demons, half beast people, vampires, dragonkind, faeries... Almost anything is possible, though try to keep it humanoid. As for specialization, well there are your typical warriors, summoners, mages, rangers, druids, priests, monks, witches and the list goes on.
Another thing to note is that there are guns in this universe... though they are very primitive and since there are magic armor and such which prevent them from being one hit kill weapons they tend not to dominate much.
Magic exists in numerous ways in this universe, though at it's core it conform to these rules
.
Well that would be about it, if there are any questions I'll be glad to answer them.
Hope we have a nice fun RP.
Here we have a simple sheet to fill up for your character, shamelessly copied from Atomic's post and with the addition of a species entry.
1. Name: I doubt I have to explain this.
2. Species: Human, elf, fairy, beastperson, Valkyrie, spirit, dragon, celestial, infernal, ect.
3. Gender: If applicable.
4. Age: Either how the number of years since your character's birth or the number of years they have been sentient.
5. Appearance: Physical description, how does your character look, the color of their hair, length of their wingspan, you know the basics.
6. Personality: General mindset, how do they behave, how do they act, general mood and such.
7. Backstory: What did your character do with their life? How did they wind up in Lire? Their past basically.
8. Abilities: What does your character do? How do they fight? Do they have any magic? Maybe some special skills?
9. Notable Possessions: Basically, in this entry you write if your character has some notable possession and what does it do.
