Choose whoever you want, as long as it makes some sense. Or use an OC if you can't decide.
That sounds pretty interesting.

Both accepted. I'll be getting my own characters up eventually, most likely not today due to my recently aquired copy of Dead Space 2.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."- Name: Youmu Konpaku
- Age: Less than 60 years old, according to the Touhou wiki. My personal theory is that as a half-phantom, she ages half as quickly as a regular person does. She looks like a teenage girl, so I feel that she's probably somewhere between twenty-six and thirty-two years old.
- Gender: Female.
- Species: Half-phantom.
- Appearance: Like this.
◊
- Personality: Lawful Good. Incredibly serious and loyal, both to her mistress and to her code of honor. Is somewhat old-fashioned, and believes wholeheartedly in the ideals of Bushido.
- Abilities: Aside from her spell cards,
she is capable of moving at supersonic speeds for a short period of time, her phantom half is capable of perceiving invisible or incorporeal things, and in addition to being used as weapons, her swords
have special powers - Roukanken is able to harm ghosts and other incorporeal entities, and Hakurouken can be used to dispel the confusion and uncertainty of those it strikes.
Um... Hey~! I usually just tend to lurk a lot, but this looked interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. Hope I don't screw up in some horrible way, ahah~ I... Kinda have something of an obsession over a certain Rin Satsuki, as some people who've frequented Mot K might have noticed (if any of you are here, then hey~!), so I'm going to grab tightly to her whilst she's still up for grabs and not let go.
- Name: Rin Satsuki
- Age: Unknown. She's either the physical manifestation of something that's been around for far longer than human memory, or... She's two years old.
- Gender: Female
- Species: Claims to be a Kirin. In actuality, she's... Complicated. Something of an amalgam of never-weres and could-have-beens, the potentials that were never achieved and the unborn that were never conceived.
- Appearance: Usually, she looks like this.
◊ However, every so often, she "flickers" and turns completely greyscale for varying periods of time.
- Personality: Her mind is highly fractured, and split into two personalities: "Gold" and "Silver". Gold Rin (the name deriving from her golden blonde hair in this persona) is cheerful, upbeat, and compassionate to everyone she meets. She goes a little bit too far with this, however, to the point that she comes off as an obnoxiously hyperactive love freak. At seemingly random intervals, however, Rin's body "flickers" and transforms her into what is known as "Silver Rin" due to her dramatic change in colourscheme. The depressive to Gold Rin's manic, Silver Rin is hateful and spiteful to everyone and everything she meets, despising them all for so easily attaining what she had to struggle to attain: their very existence.
- Abilties, Spell Cards, all that good stuff: Rin has access to vaguely defined (but not especially powerful) healing abilities, as well as limited manipulation over the forces of nature. She only has two spell cards, Wind Sign "Change of Seasons" and Flower Sign "Satsuki Azalea". She's also a damn good musician, especially with her trademark erhu.
Uh... I hope that's okay. I know I, um, embellished a little bit, so if anything doesn't work, just let me know.
- Name: Umi Takahashi
- Age: Around 75
- Gender: Female
- Species: River Youkai
- Appearance: This
◊, only without the yin-yang symbol and the anchor symbol
- Personality: Adventurous, somewhat belligerent, always looking for a fight
- Abilities: Control of water, mainly water density
Well, you mentioned something about the barrier being all wonky, right? Maybe someone on the outside notices this. Someone who might not have Gensokyo's best intentions in mind, like some kind of military force, or some amoral researchers who'd like nothing better than to vivisect the various inhabitants to see what makes them tick? Or perhaps the barrier is being torn apart from the inside, and someone wants to bring an end to Gensokyo's isolation from the rest of the world (or indeed, just bring an end to Gensokyo)? Or maybe the fluctuations and/or whatever's causing it has attracted the undue attention of some kind of interdimensional beings/gribbly cosmic horrors/etc.? Just throwing out some ideas, I guess.
Oh, and because I have nothing better to do and I'm insane, I guess I'll add another character. Whee~
- Name: Rika. Just Rika. Last names are for those conformist magifacists anyway.
- Age: 16
- Gender: Female
- Species: Human
- Appearance: Something like this.
Tank optional.
- Personality: Brash, arrogant, and very, very hammy. No matter how much she gets knocked down (which is an awful lot), she'll be right back up afterwards to brag about how she'll show them all next time. Adores science and engineering to no end, believing it to be the true power of humanity and what should define them (coincidently, she gets on a lot better with Kappas than she does with other humans). She dismisses magic as superstitious nonsense and an archaic relic of the past that needs to be discarded for mankind to achieve it's true potential. She's also probably the only atheist in Gensokyo, and finds the very existence of the various gods to be disrespectful to her life choices.
- Abilties, Spell Cards, all that good stuff: Stands out in the magical land of Gensokyo by being completely unable to use magic. It's not clear whether this is a personal choice or whether she's actually physically incable of using it. Instead, she relies on the powers of science and engineering, both seen as something of a heresy amongst the more traditional Gensokian humans, which has led to her being somewhat of a pariah. She's absolutely worthless at danmaku by herself, and so relies on her machines to do the job for her, sometimes in the shape of various mechanical simulacra of fairies, ghosts and other weak youkai, but most notably and (in)famously with her beloved Flower Tank. She used to have an even more powerful machine called "Evil Eye Sigma", and still harbours somewhat of a grudge against Reimu for totalling it. What's left of the flying tank is still in Rika's garage, and the scientist swears that one day she'll fix it to be ten times more powerful than it was before so she can show the magic users the TRUE POWER OF SCIENCE! But this is mostly just idle boasting that isn't likely to amount to anything at all.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a freaking psychopath for even deciding to make yet another RP, but this idea's been bugging me for a while and I decided "Ah, hell, why not?"
Now, this RP is going to use the "Semi-serious" tone. Sure, it'll have its fight scenes, its serious moments, but it will also be lighthearted, and have its share of funny moments as well. Mainly because I think that's when Gensokyo is at it's best.
Now, storyline specifics, at the moment, aren't particularly fleshed out. I'm working on that. This also IS NOT a crossover.
Yes, you will be able to play canon characters, if you're sure you can play them properly. Yes, you will be able to play OCs. No, you can not go around maiming and killing and trying to make the mood dark as hell. There can be funny moments, sad moments, serious moments, action-packed moments, but I do not like ultra-dark Gensokyo.
Now, if you like all this, feel free to sign up!
