This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Nevermind this bit I just saw the news for Venom #252.
According to the article that was linked here, which is this one
since it has been a bit, that is indeed a variant of Venom. They haven't revealed who the host is yet. There will be a backup story for the new character in Venom 252, but we don't know for sure if it's in the main universe. An add for Venom #250 shows the current Venom, so MJ is still the host.
As for a recap of the current Spider-Man books, I can only help a little bit there. I have the books for Amazing and Spider-Verse Vs. Venomverse, but I have been reading them off and on so I still need to catch up. On a quick note also from the latest Amazing issue poor Shocker for what Spidey did to him, and Tombstone is back. It feels a bit too soon for him to be back in stories.
The only book that I can recap is Spider-Man & Wolverine. I'm just going to put it all in a spoiler since nobody here talked about it and I'll try to keep it brief.
Spidey wakes up in the Savage Land in his black costume and bandages over his stomach. Logan manages to calm him down enough so they can figure out what is happening to them. They are wearing bracelets that will teleport them to different locations if they almost hit someone. Wolverine catches Spidey up on how they got there. They eventually encounter Kraven with a group led by a new character called Dreadshadow. They don't recognize him and a fight happens that involves raptors. At a certain point Spidey and Logan are teleported to Dock Ock on the Great Wall of China.
The three of them start fighting, with Spidey also making sure no civilians get hurt. The trio are then teleported to the Roman Coloseum, with Spidey then getting teleported to Dreadshadow in New York City. Both fights are shown at the same time. Dreadshadow reveals that he is the mastermind behind this series, with the intent to show both Spidey and Wolverine are not heroes. He also knows Peter is Spider-Man, but Peter doesn't know who Deadshadow is after removing his mask. Spidey gets away and swings to the Baxter Building in order to remove and examine the bracelet. He later teleports Logan to him on a rooftop. That is when Teresa appears, and she tries attacks Logan with claws and tries to kill him by shooting him with bullets made from a Murasama Blade because she thinks he killed their parents.
I tried to keep it brief, so I apologize if it's too much. I have been enjoying the series so far. There are a lot of continuity shown here, with the biggest one being Spidey remembers the Finisher said he killed his parents, but Spidey now wonders if Finisher did it himself or he arranged for the hit to happen. Also a funny moment when Spidey tris to tell Ock not to say superior, only to say he said it after Ock said it.

Peter dating Shay is an insult to Black Cat.
I just checked out the new Ghost Spider and think it's the best they've done in a long time. Which isn't saying much. As much as I have no love for Gwen's world, the whole cosmic dream/TVA thing was awful. Thankfully, she's back to street level crime fighting and her powers are back.
Black Cat is always good and I love her new series as well.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I still think Gwen should have just kept the symbiote. It wasn't evil, at least until she ditched it, so why get rid of it in the first place. If her powers have returned, it should be acting as an amplifier then.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!
×2
No, she kept it because it wasn't malevolent. The whole Gwenom arc ended with her keeping it. It was a conscious decision.
I disagree. Gwen is wildly out of character and extremely selfish.
It also sucks that Silk has been downgraded to being a supporting character in Gwen's book.

Issue #2
of Black Cat's new series will feature a guest appearance from Daredevil.
The new Spider-Gwen run was supposed to get her a new band, right? Did the first issue do anything with that? It might be funny if the singer was another girl who clearly had a thing for Gwen.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Remind me, do Blade's Dracula powers come with wall crawling? Did they come before or after he was bullied into helping the Avengers?
Buldogue's lawyerAmusingly the solicit for Strange Tales #2 mentions the Mary Jane's band
Jeremy Whitley (W)
Bayleigh Underwood (A/C)
Strange Things are Afoot… While running late for her next gig with the Mary Janes on Halloween, Gwen Stacy discovers that the night of mischief has left Doctor Strange a victim of the nefarious Green Goblin! With pumpkin bombs exploding and webs thwipping within the halls of the Sanctum Sanctorum, grave consequences await Gwen as the witching hour comes to a close.
Only if they bring back Arana's carapace and bolas while getting rid of those weak ripoff Changes/The Other powers. Then again, if you're making the Mary Janes a spider-lady band, why not just make it Arana and Silk(and leave Mattie dead, someone's death has to stick).
And until I see Marvel Dracula wall crawling, I'm just going to assume Blade can't. I don't know whether him lacking the ability to or not would make a Spider-Verse event would be funnier. It'd definitely be funnier if it happened long after the point he had been outed as Ronin but he suddenly found himself in the Spider-costume again for reasons he can't explain. Or maybe just because he never got found out as "Spider-Hero" he goes back to it when he's trying to remain hidden only for it spectacularly backfire when it gets him even more attention.

Buldogue's lawyerJameson for all his flaws, is a family man so that he barely brings up his niece who was a Spider-Person and died is weird.
But I guess that would require the writers to remember she exists. Only thing she has going for her was that she was in Madam Web and has some mainstream attention.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"One thing I liked a lot about Clone Conspiracy is that it gave Mattie more agency in her own death, and Gwen too. They both go out as heroes rather than victims this time around.

I don't think being in Madame Web is going to help Mattie all that much.
Hell, don't some studios show a willingness to bury characters who are in movies that do badly.
Or are part of poorly thought out character pushes?
Poor Hal Jordan and the Inhumans have suffered from that being in bad media that shaped how they were used years later.

One Strip! One Strip!

It's going to be in the 616 universe. The solicit doesn't make it clear if this is M Jnom or a new Venom.
