This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

First look at Captain America#14
, kicking off a new storyline which sees JMS returning to Spider-Man and Thor as they team with Steve
Whether Walter is dead or severely injured, I could see him as being a twisted Uncle Ben figure for Felicia.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Funny thought, its true what they say that adaptations can really color a character.
Like most if not all fan-art I've seen of Gwen is of Spider-Gwen and always paired with Miles thanks to the Spider-Verse films.
Its funny cause it almost you forget Gwen started out as a love-interest to Peter.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Or that in the comics she’s a college dropout and he’s forever in high school
Forever liveblogging the AvengersVery true, though recency is a lot of it. Even if you stick to the main Spider-Man comics, Spider-Gwen's around and pops up sometimes while original Gwen has been dead for years and only returns in rare, weird ways (I'm counting clones there). She's also definitely the less popular pick if a new story wants to give Peter a love interset.
Venom: Original Sin
As a result of Peter and the symbiote's deaths in the altered past, Eddie gets to live a rare best life, marrying Anne, but because the symbiote was killed, nothing stands in the way of Carnage and the city falls to him. Also there's a nice cameo from the Scriers as Norman sics them on Peter's loved ones
That's right it's a spider centric story. The stakes don't have to be so high. All one needs to do is kill Captain Stacy, or that Paul fellow, take someone's job, frame someone for a crime.
There's too much time travel alternate universe Mephisto silliness. These should be the exceptions, against the grain, out of the norm.
Buldogue's lawyerSpider-Man: Venom War#3
Kind of a filler "What If..." type issue where Peter has a vision of him as the king in black's successor. If Mary Jane is not saved from the Arachnote, she will master it, ditch Paul, reconcile with Peter and have a daughter with him...then, in typical "What If" fashion, the future gets bleaker as MJ is said to be consumed and killed, and Peter ends up breaking bad. He uses his powers to combat and kill the future Avengers, and a symbiote host who steps up to him...and finds out after killing it that it's his own daughter May. The vision ends and the symbiote tells Peter that there are no eventualities
On the Paul front, he doesn't make a direct appearance, but he does communicate with Peter, he's assumed the worst and thinks MJ is likely dead, but Peter won't give up, Paul actually tries discouraging him, but Peter says it's the trying that matters and he won't lose anyone tonight
Man, the digital coloring
◊ of Kraven's Last Hunt kinda dropped the ball on the last of these three panels
◊. The digital one is probably more realistic but the original is so cinematic and feels like something from an animated movie.
....They should do an animated version.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I wish Marvel did animated movies like DC did, while not all of them are good, at least they allow beloved story arcs to hit the screen. If Marvel did the same thing we could have a bunch of famous story arcs hopefully adapted famously without having to build up to it. I mean that does help but sometimes adaptions mean you have to change things and that means the story may not be adapted faithfully.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!I’d like to see Avengers Under Siege as a mostly self contained movie
Forever liveblogging the AvengersFor Spider-Man stories specifically I think "If This Be My Destiny" would be a great one too.
The Protomen enhanced my life.

Somewhere, Norman is laughing.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
