This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

This week's Venom: Original Sin webcomic sees Peter Parker, Jack O'Lantern and the Venom symbiote itself all end up dead after Eddie tries to use his King In Black powers to revisit Spider-Man's black costume days and Set Right What Once Went Wrong.
The past version of Eddie is left in the middle of the carnage, but does now know more about the two Sin-Eaters...
More Infinity Comic Venom spoilers...
Jack sees Eddie talking to "Spider-Man" (the King in Black future Eddie using Peter in the pre-Venom symbiote costume as a meat puppet) and attacks, which only gets worse when he cuts Peter's arm off and Eddie tries to stop him. At that point he assumes Eddie's sold him out and tries to kill him.
The future Venom in Peter's body then saves Eddie from one of Jack's thrown blades, at the cost of getting impaled himself. The blade detonates while still embedded in his torso, reducing him to a heap of burning symbiote goo. Eddie, who's just seen himself die, hits Jack over the back of the head with a brick and he topples into the flames...
...and then Eddie realises that the murder of Spider-Man might be the big story he needs...
Bricks, the most imposing force in the Spiderverse.

Oh 'eck, sounds like Peter's picotech A.I is fixing to take over during the holidays
The Venom War event has some interesting reveals this week.
It confirms that the Anti-Venoms can cure the zombiotes, but can't cure a dead host of course. Misery and Silence do it by simply grabbling onto the zombiotes and letting their Anti-Venoms do the work, while Flash punches the host out of the goop. Ha.
Silence gets a redesign, and it's addressed in the story so it's not just artistic liberty. She looks like a mix of Mania and Silence and a Sonic character. It'll have to grow on me, but at least it's different than just a recolored Scream. And I do appreciate the expressiveness Andi gives it.
The Life Foundation symbiotes return, bonding to Silver Sable's team this time. And they randomly introduce a new symbiote called Flicker. Did I miss an issue or something? Also Agony kills its host before rebonding to Silver Sable herself and getting renamed the "Silver Symbiote". Cool I guess, but sheesh they really don't know what to do with the Life Foundation 5 even nowadays.
Oh and the Poisons are back. That's actually really cool.

#IceBearForPresidentI actually liked that Agony had a new host that was an actual character. I hope at the end of the event it goes back to Gemma.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Fan fact: the Life Foundation symbiotes are an example of Ascended Fanon. Originally, only Scream was named in the comics. Riot and Lasher were named by action figures, Agony was total fanon, and Phage, bizarrely, was confused with a completely different Venom foe
. But these names were so accepted among the fans that, whether intentionally or not, they made their way to the comics.

Speaking of symbiotes, were the ones seen in the PS 1/N64 video game ever given names? They were purple and pink.
I love that game. It is so funny. (My dad's favorite parts were anything with Venom, and he usually doesn't even like Venom, as well as the ending with everyone playing Go Fish.)

The Protomen enhanced my life.Man symbiote names are always so edgy. I’m glad Deadpool said screw it and named his Princess.
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Normie named his Rascal
But yeah, it’s usually a case of flip through the dictionary and pick out an edgy noun
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

There's also a lot of What Ifs (and some canon stories) where Spider-Man dies...Miles is lucky it hasn't really happened to him yet.
