This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Soooooooo.........I had this crack idea of a Mega Man X inspired sequel series starring Mayday in a more optimistic cyberpunk setting, fighting against Alchemax, and I wondered who would fit the roles of Zero, Vile, and Sigma.
Like, Mayday is easily Mega Man X, she's the successor, and Norman's ghost would be Dr.Wily complete with making Alchemax and a program that would allow him to possess people, but I got nothing for Zero.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"The White Sheep of the Osborn that is.
As for Vile... Maybe someone taking the mantle of Agent Venom?
"Cynicism is not realistic and tough. It's unrealistic and kind of cowardly because it means you don't have to try."Putting together a Spider-Girl revival fan comic, main story pages are all complete, shared one of them on Facebook and got a comment from Ron Frenz praising my artist's work.
He'd been liking all the samples I'd been posting, but that was his first comment. He suggested something to me too which has helped shape the rest of the story in upcoming issues.
So I can pretty much credit the book with "story by Zarius and Ron Frenz"
Closest is Normie, I guess it could work since he's been both Venom and Green Goblin.
Still not sure who could be Sigma tho, who even is Spider-Girl's arch-enemy?
Hey congrats, seems someone's fanfiction is coming along nicely.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah but Hobgoblin wouldn't really make things personal, it's all business to him. He even flees from Spider-Girl and ends up going back to the Caribbean IIRC.
So he can't really fulfill a role similar to Sigma or Vile. Ideally, the Sigma stand in should be a hero who was eventually corrupted by something Norman left behind.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I do feel that Norman does work best in the Spider-Girl era as the long dead menace whose ghost haunts the cast and maybe has a plan or two to spite them from beyond the grave.
I don't really think that vibe works for Norman in the main setting with Peter but I do feel it works spectacularly with Mayday.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Imagine if some random person found his plan and had no idea what it was or what to do with it.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I definitely preferred when Spider-Girl was its own setting, when Arana had her own gadget, the spider legged boleadoras instead of web-shooters, and her own power, a chitinous exoskeleton from a Power Tattoo instead of a spider-sense. What was the point of cancelling Amazing Spider-Girl just to turn Anya Corazon into Spider-Girl? The only thing they didn't do was make her a blood relative to Peter Parker!
I've warmed up to Silk but would much prefer Spider-GwenGhost Spider stay in her own space. Honestly, wouldn't have minded Miles Morales staying Ultimate Spider-Man either.
I recognize that current Ultimate Spider-Man is kind of what people want out of main Spider-Man, but ideally main Spider-Man would be that already. Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Arachne, Arana, Kane, Venom, Anti-Venom. That should have been enough for one 616 USA. Still can be, just swap out Arana for Silk but revert Anya to her boleadoras and carapace in future Spider-Verse/web of life events, while Silk inherits the Spider Society/Web Corps and Sisterhood of the Wasp as her rogues. Maybe Goddess can have adventures too, since her fundamentally non human nature would make her different enough from the rest(but come up with a less generic name than "Goddess"). Maybe let X-Men/X-Men Green keep their Spider-Girl, since Spider-Man is only on their periphery, and again, she's fundamentally different from the rest as a giant spider attending human classes! Even then, just leave Arachne in Canada. Say she's part of some USA-Canada good will project. She can visit USA, live in USA even, but work in Canada.

I like that, although you forgot Spider-Boy, which a lot of people don’t like but tbh he’s kind of grown on me, especially since Peter wasn’t dumb enough to pull a Batman and Robin, but instead just started training the kid but kept him on strictly joke villains while he learned.
Also they’re making a new Spider-Girl with a terrible costume. Although maybe it’s just me hating the current trend of mixing street wear into costumes.

It's gonna be fun on the bun!Spider-Boy seems perfectly endearing to me. The worst part is the Suddenly There All Along retcon but the angst that's been squeezed out of that has been decent drama.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSure, why not. Spider-Boy can be the somewhat bumbling on and off sidekick Steel Spider was before Venom ate him. He's less interesting than Steel Spider, since that guy didn't actually have spider-powers, and his suit was unlike Peter's web-shooters...but yeah, just working with what we have, there's room for Bailey...barely.
Buldogue's lawyerWas watching the old Spider-Man: The Animated Series and came to The "Venom Retrns"/"Carnage" two-parter, and an interesting question sprung up. Was the Carnage symbiote born evil? And this probably applies to most continuities, not just this one.
The Venom symbiote was around for a long time, so it has life experience. When it was bonded to Peter, it made him a dick, but Peter wasn't the first time it had bonded to something, (at least most of the time). The symbiote was hella old and knew stuff about how the universe worked, and it changed Peter's behavior to suit its desires. But the very first thing the Carnage symbiote did after its birth was bond with Cletus "I'm a serial killer who really loves his job" Kasady. Would the symbiote have been a bad guy even if it had bonded with someone nice? Or was the symbiote a tabula rasa that could have turned into a nice "person," except that it bonded to Kasady, who then influenced it, making the symbiote lust for murder?
The Tabula Rasa thing might be the case, or something close to that.
As I understand it, Kasady doesn't say we are Carnage. He and the symbiote are so firmly united that they see themselves as a singular being.
So if the symbiote was in it's very early stages, maybe it just assimilated Kasady's mannerisms and way of thinking before it could form its own thoughts and opinions because so young.

One Strip! One Strip!

Edit: We were talking about a new What If book about Wanda and Peter Parker being siblings.
