This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I thought she was drugged into premature labor, gave birth, had the baby stolen and forever disappeared by a nurse working for Norman, and then was told the baby died during delivery
And Good Guy Norman knows what became of baby May but hasn’t deigned to reveal it

Forever liveblogging the AvengersSome writer at some future point is going to pull that trigger and have May come back as a Damian-like character into Peter’s life
Like Gabriel and Gwentwo but actually a plot development worth a damn
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI had this idea for a Renew your vows fanfic where Norman comes back with a ten year old May to fight Spider-Man and his amazing family.
I had so much fun with the whole drama of Annie having to fight her own sister.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I feel like Norman would def try to raise Mayday in his own image to spite Spider-Man, and to have that heir he always wanted.
But Marvel won't ever allow anyone to address it to keep their image of swinging Spider-Man, rather than dead beat dad Spider-Man.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"A crack fic idea I once had... I think, I don't remember how it went in my mind originally... was Peter being killed and a Sinister Six lineup trying to raise his daughter. I think it'd have been Norman, Eddie, Otto, Sergei, Quentin and Adrian? It was a stupid Three Men and a Baby kind of gag.
Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.![]()
The Sinister Six raising a Spider-Baby and maybe flipping towards being good out of concern for what a dangerous world this is for a baby to grow up in would be an interesting AU
In a weird note, Kraven is apparently actually good with kids. Surprising considering what a horrible dad he is to his own.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersAvengers Standoff or whatever the series was called
Kraven was sent to capture Cosmiccubelissa and instead of trying to chase her around or fight her, he just set up a tea party and engaged her on her level

Forever liveblogging the Avengersputting on the fucken party hat i'm crying
And Good Guy Norman knows what became of baby May but hasn’t deigned to reveal it
There's more that happened after that.
The woman who kidnapped baby May returned and told Peter "May is alive" before she died. Obviously assuming this was his daughter, Peter followed it up only to discover it was Aunt May that was alive, with that insanely complicated actress plot to fake her death.
Then, in Marvel Knights Mac Gargan mentions that Norman Osborn killed Peter's daughter.
While Marvel now don't want to address it at all, it appears that the answer is the baby really did die in delivery and the reveal that her death was a fakeout was in actuality the fakeout.
Norman hasn't brought this up now because Peter already knows.

De Falco did intend for Baby May to be the one referred to and reuniting her with Peter & MJ.
It leading to Aunt May was just Marvel thinking that the bait and switch wouldn't be stupid.
Mayday being legit killed/miscarried also forms the backstory of Renew Your Vows, with Annie being Peter and MJ simply trying again and succeeding this time.
Makes one wonder where Norman got to in that universe, being that Annie pretty much grew up without having to worry about him and only dealt with Normie and Liz.
I think the most fucked up part is that Gold Goblin Norman Osborn unironically comes off as a better leading man than Peter at this point.
Like, removing the bit for a bit, that's seriously sad to say that the child murdering crooked businessman who got a get out of jail free card thanks to the sins goop retconning how culpable he is of his crimes is a more compelling character than Spider-Man.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Nice to have a week where Peter is handled by grown ups
Black Suit and Blood: "And we ride the night to the other side of dawn...never looking back" JMS, we miss you on Peter and MJ man.
Venom War: Peter finally giving the Uncle Ben memorial speech to his old Symbiote
Looks like some of the stories in 'Black Suit and Blood' may be outside of continuity too.
JMD's story is for certain a prequel to Kraven's Last Hunt, and JMS' story can either take place during Nick Spencer's run or at an unspecified point post-Wells, but the MJ centred story is at odds with her status quo during the original Secret Wars. This story is clearly meant to take place shortly after Peter took the costume back with him from Battleworld and MJ detects it's presence in the house...she never meets it face to face, which doesn't contradict her first encounter with Venom...but the kicker is she wasn't living with Peter when he brought the costume back, she had only recently returned to New York and was rebuilding her friendship with Peter, who was dating Felicia at the time. The story should have been about Felicia hanging out at the house and sensing the symbiote

Brevoort over on his substack
talked a bit about refusing to give Mary Jane a miscarriage in the 90s two years before Marvel actually did give her one.
