This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

The Darkhold event
He also got a new look
Now I'm picturing a version of this where Wayep is one of the gods Doom sends Peter to fight. Spider-Man goes off to face him, leaving Doom talking to Paul. And then returns to find Doom standing next to a scorched spot and a faint wisp of smoke.

They could also Shatra since she's a spiderman foe. Though I kinda expect they'll be dr strange foes.
Anyway the current garbage run ending means I'll take anything as a palette cleanser.

If this was a just world, Doom would be able to do a magical version of Rick Sanchez's mind-scanning
and find out that, big surprise, Paul has been a liar the entire time. Not only was he consciously in on the genocide, but he knew the kids were fake from the word go, but never bothered to tell MJ.
Yeah, call me a blasphemer, but suddenly The 8 Deaths of Spider-Man has my attention a lot more than the Wells run ever did.
And on a morbid note, this might be Spider-Editor Nick Lowe's last rodeo. People attending the panel have noted that Tom Brevoort
joked(?) that the event would be more appealing if it was called "The 8 Deaths of Nick Lowe".
Doom blew up a universe in a petty rage fit against a version of him liking RICHARDSSSSS
I don’t think he has ground to stand on re: genocide
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYes but if he starts taking a hard line that genocide is simply unforgivable then he is either becoming a badly written character or the hypocrisy is the point
Forever liveblogging the AvengersDoes Doom have the moral high ground on genocide? Absolutely not.
Will that stop Doom using it as an excuse to annihilate someone who annoys him? Absolutely not.
His Noble Demon tendencies are thoroughly undermined by his hypocrisy and his jealousy of Richards. That's why he's Doom.
Which is one of the reasons I'm looking forward to his reign as Sorcerer Supreme and interactions with Peter.

Yeah in some cases, his nobility actually makes him worse. Like yeah we see him save Latveria from an oppressive occupation, but he blows up an entire universe to spite his alternate self for being a smug asshole which is hilarious coming from Doom.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I'll absolutely disagree with that.
Doom may be beloved but that's not the same as being a well written character. And with having so many different interpretations over the decades of his existence huge inconsistencies with how he's portrayed I can't really see him labelling him a well written character overall.
Starlin stole it for Thanos
Actually it’s fairly common in general. Doom is mostly own for it because the extent of writers contradicting other writers with the excuse is pretty notable
Forever liveblogging the AvengersInteresting potential Spider-Man leak
from CBR. It says Peter might be dead for a while and Miles will be sidelined due to vampirism to set up a 'Doom Conquers the World' event since, like in What If? (Marvel Comics), Spider-Man disappearing sets stuff in motion. Kaine may take over in the interim.

The Protomen enhanced my life.Wonder if the whole "Doom conquers the world" event is to celebrate 10 years since the 2015 Secret Wars or just a complete coincidence.

This could also solve the Chthon is attached to Wanda's soul that Doom wanted Wanda to avoid. He wanted her to destroy him but she instead absorbed him.
