Spider-Man General Discussion

Go To

This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.

  • Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
  • Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
  • Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.

Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.

Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.

Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

     Original Thread OP
Since everyone likes talking about him. I know little about him(Ironically,I got nearly all I know about him from a Batman thread),but he's apparently important so I made this thread. Enjoy.

Spider-Man has his own cookbook! CBR has some sample recipes. I like the Sandman one that lampshades his Heel–Face Revolving Door.

That's another area where Peter will always beat Batman.

Please remember that, ultimately, fictional works of entertainment are just that.

Seems like a reasonable amount of effort actually went into this. Silk's recipe being the first she had after she left her bunker is a nice touch.

I looked it up out of curiosity, and this isn't the first time they've done a Marvel cookbook. Figures, that sort of thing seems to do quite well.

They still do that for games. 3 years ago they had a Final Fantasy cookbook.

Amazing Spider-Man: Rek-Rap gets impaled by Norman's glider, Living Brain also sacrifices his life

Spider-Boy: Spider-Verse cameos include Mayday, Man-Spider, someone with a red haired ponytail in Spidey's costume, the team from the series finale of Spider-Man: TAS, and a shot of the Renew Your Vows family....only instead of teen Annie, it's her kid version, interesting choice. Perhaps indicating Conway/Stegman's era on the RYV title is being preserved

I genuinely can't remember - is Sandman a good guy this week? Last I remember he found out his future self was an insane maniac and went full hero resolving never to become that way.

Better summary of ASM now that I've had a flick

Peter ends up with Norman's sins again after Norman stabs himself with the spear, the sins instead choose Peter over Norman. However, Norman stays evil, presumably due to his split personality thing

Look Marvel, does Norman have a split personality or what? Make up your damn minds.

Matt is too busy fighting his own sins. He's fighting his greed taking over kingpin right now. And a part of kingpin wants Matt to win because he doesn't like the demon controlling his body.

Sandman was gone for a few years after Zdarsky's run on Spectacular, before resurfacing to be in a few panel shots in Sinister War, a great use of everybody's time.

Now he's appearing in this run as a part of the sinister six.

Sandman’s my favorite Spider-Man frenemy, and it’s sad that nobody seems to know what to do by with him.

So regardless how much OMD involves a character who shouldn't be a major figure in Spider-Man, as Linkara brought up in his review of it...

Well besides just having the major powerhouse heroes who could help him be absent, why didn't they have MJ being the one on death's door so that Peter's choice as foolish as it was would actually feel more selfless? Can't think of any downside that would come from it.

Why Wolverine? As far as I know he doesn't have much connection to Daredevil...

Come to think of it, besides Spider-Man, what friends does Matt have in the Super-Hero community?
