This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I'm not assuming the worst.
They have to milk the marriage drama first and THEN they can get to the worst.
Canon event that Peter has to lose a loved one at the hands of the Green Goblin.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
And that whatever police captain he gets chummy with is gonna bite the big one saving a kid from a falling building. Otherwise the universe destroys itself.

Kingpin, a male Black Cat, Kraven, Mister Negative, Mysterio, and surprisingly Mole Man
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Especially bad when you compare it to the absolute HELL that Mysterio put Daredevil through when he figured out his secret identity, including orchestrating the murder of Matt's first love. One would think he'd be even more brutal towards Spider-Man upon learning his secret and how best to fuck with him.
I actually like how Daredevil ripped him apart, saying the entire plan was just derivative of Wilson Fisk.
It was such a "The Reason You Suck" Speech that Mysterio took himself out.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Like heckling the Joker, making fun of the fact Mysterio isn't a good performer/producer is the way to destroy him.
And he's NOT.
The only reason that Mysterio got his movie made was Mary Jane handheld him the entire way. Which was hilarious.
(Love that miniseries)

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Though it is weird.
I didn't know Mysterio and Daredevil ever even fought each other before that story.
I heard that Matt and Peter shared a few rogues (particularly Electro, and I know Pete's had run-ins with Bullseye and Typhoid Mary...and yeah, there's the Kingpin), but was Mysterio ever on that list?
One Strip! One Strip! You’d think Mysterio would know that good artists copy, great artists steal
No shame in repeating plot beats if you make it your own and from what I’ve heard of guardian devil, he did
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt doesn’t help that writers are inconsistent with how evil Mysterio is supposed to be generally.
Guardian Devil at least had the excuse that Mysterio was dying of cancer so he wanted to go out with a big act.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
Nope. Apparently he just showed up back in time for Sinister War. I'm still bummed he never got to keep the Scorpion-themed symbiote. I think that would have been a nice middle ground between his time as Venom and still being his own character. Also everyone whose been Venom usually gets another symbiote anyways.
Also on a unrelated note I made a page for Spider-Man: Shadow of the Green Goblin that could use some help.

It's gonna be fun on the bun! There's three things to consider with Spider-Man's secret identity.
One is that Jackal created several Spider-Man clones, and it was widely believed the "first" Spider-Man everyone saw was one of them.
Two is that the government scarlet spider project successfully gave several operatives powers and equipment similar to Spider-Man's, and Peter Parker was revealed to have been one of these scarlet spider agents, with the strong suggestion he wasn't the original Spider-Man.
Three is that the One More Day Cosmic Retcon removed knowledge of who Spider-Man was even to people Peter Parker personally told and that retcon has since been strengthened by more events like One Moment In Time.
Now taking all that into account, have the writers forgotten what Mysterio was supposed to know, has new information caused Mysterio to have doubts, or has Mysterio just been a victim of the periodic Mephisto retcons? Believe me, I like to dunk on Marvel creative, and in a way I still am, but with Marvel it's often a lot more complicated than "I forgot".
