This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I don't think him not fighting lizard means he's a coward. Remember, the only reason he went after Spider-Man was because his little brother snitched on Spidey to him. There was no greater moral quest here.
The reason he's a coward is because his name is literally Kraven. That's what the word means.

Probably, but I'm specifically referencing every Kraven The Hunter appearance up until his death. After Kraven died he became a Memetic Badass who was immune to Mewtwo's powers and capable killing Puff The Magic Dragon. And thanks to Running the Asylum, there have been some writers who have wrote Kraven that way for real, but originally Spider-Man dug his way out of his graved and hunted down the hunter, who killed himself so he'd live with never losing to Spider-Man again.
Keep in mind I do respect Kraven as a villain. He's just brave enough to be just that, respectable, but not brave enough to be valorous or admirable. I emphasize he is a bit of a coward. He's not a sniveling coward, a slimy coward, a dirty coward, but he's not the fearless badass he wants people to think he is, and when the chips are down he prove that time and time again.

This does contradict a bit of continuity from Revenge of the Green Goblin, since the Osborn family's bankruptcy happened in Norman's early childhood when he was 10, but now according to this narration, it happened when he was dating Emily during highschool.
Either way, it's interesting they are actually doing something with the reveal that Emily is alive because I just assumed she was just another clone made by evil A.I. Harry.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Huh, good point.
I don't think Norman needs the stress of his bankruptcy as a catalyst for him being an abusive asshole, I personally think it works better as part of his whole start of darkness and him inheriting the abusive personality from his dad's own abuse and developing a social darwinist mentality to cope with his poverty and dad's beatings

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Norman got to be a billionaire by cheating his partner of all of his inventions and taking them for himself.
Which I always felt was the biggest tell on his character before he became the Goblin.
He was always an awful father and a questionable scientist.
The video game Norman is actually one of the most faithful to the original, it just has him stealing from Otto.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. He built the company with Stromm TBF well into adulthood, and it was Stromm who took the cash first.
Like, credit to Norman, he isn't a Elon Musk raised as a wealthy heir, Norman actually had to earn every cent and dollar since childhood to build Oscorp.
But yeah, Norman is an evil jerk even before the Green Goblin. Something Wells forgot.
And this mini actually is connecting to the whole sins of Norman being a separate guy, interestingly enough.

The sins thing was so so so so so so so so so stupid and even if Spencer had stuck the landing on his run, he’d get major points off for introducing shotgun blasting sins out of one person and into another
Forever liveblogging the AvengersNo, no, even in Spencer’s runs Osborn’s sins got loose and made the spider “family” beat up the New Warriors

Peter returns home with a major black eye which spooks May so much she reveals Peter is a superhero to MJ and Richard. MJ doesn't look happy and asks how he got the injury....my guess is the battle with the Kingpin has already taken place and will be framed as a flashback as Peter finally confesses to his family.
I hope the 'shocking' ending isn't MJ walking out with the kids, though with the way Peter's hid the truth from them for six months it'd certainly be justified. I wonder if all the goodwill USM has will evaporate if worst comes to worst...

Honestly the family finding out about Peter being a super hero is something that needed to happen. When it comes to a secret identity it needs to be balanced. Like don't tell everyone but to the people who know you, who will know you are lying your ass off to them, it may be better to tell them. Also something I hope this comic will touch on is the fact that family knowing a heros secret identity isn't what puts them in danger it is the hero being a hero at all, at least if they know they can take precautions to protect themselves.
Depends what sort of danger you're talking about.
There's legal culpability to consider. While some heroes are officially recognized by the authorities, others are regarded as vigilantes and will face criminal prosecution if they're ever caught. If that happens, anyone who knew about the hero's activities and never reported it could be charged as an accessory.
In that context, revealing your identity to someone and asking them to keep your secret means asking them to commit a felony, with all the risks that entails.

Spider-Man fans are so traumatized by OMD, and the Wells run among other things that the moment there's even a little drama in Peter's and MJ's relationship, people assume the worst will happen automatically.
Yeah, the moment Peter became Spider-Man, his marriage with MJ and relationship with the kids are going to take some major hits. That's just part of being Spider-Man.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Wasn't there one story where Peter had to fight the Sinister Six and collect a trinket from each of them? He threw down with all of the others but when it came time to face Kraven he thought better than risk it and instead snuck into his lair and grabbed the thing without getting noticed?
