This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Meh. Not the first time an official marvel work has said it. Midnight sons made this same joke. DC and marvel at least have a sense of humor for stuff like this (same with DC and the Martha stuff).
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."My first thought when I think of Morbius is how the 90's cartoon censored him and made him scarier.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I think that was 80% Tom Hardy deciding to portray Eddie as a little unhinged and 10% the half-baked losers have to stick together theme
The remaining 10% is a sunspots or something
Forever liveblogging the AvengersVenom got lucky in a number of ways. As
observes, having Tom "batshit insane" Hardy along, ensuring that even if the movie isn't good, it'll be memorable and fun to watch, if only for his performance. The fact that he's more famous and widely known, being one of Spider-Man's most beloved villains and a strong contender for title of his archenemy. And the additional fact that - as proven by the Donny Cates run onwards - Venom can be reworked quite easily into his own independent thing from Spider-Man.
Morbius and Madame Web don't have that. Morbius is and always has been a supporting character to other characters. And Madame Web plus the other spider-themed characters used there (the Spider-Women, Ezekiel, Tarantula, etc.) are much more closely linked to Spider-Man's lore specifically in a way that makes it very hard to decouple them from it. Not to mention they're specifically linked to a more obscure, deeper-level aspect of the lore - the Spider-Totem and associated mysticism - that very few adaptations have tackled and none have really covered in-depth, meaning the movie was basically chucking the casual audiences into the deep end without a life vest (and not even doing the obscure lore justice because of how radically altered it was).
Furthermore, neither got actors who go anywhere near Hardy's bizarre wavelength of being both gonzo nuts and likable. Morbius was stuck with Jared Leto, who's increasingly seen as an obnoxious weirdo cult-leader with an embarrassingly shallow view of method acting. Madame Web had an okay cast, with Sydney Sweeny in particular really trying her best and going the extra mile of doing research into the comics for the role, but they were held back by the bad writing and direction and none of them had the crazed charisma to salvage it like Hardy does.

Spider-boy they were able to reverse all the humanimals except for Bailey because the rest of his DNA got turned into boy-spider and hellifino because he was spliced with two animals. His mom still doesn't remember him even after she is turned back but she does offer to let him stay. He goes off to find the picture he got from Santa and is accosted by puzzle-man who has a reality warping pencil. He erases Tabitha face from the picture and Bailey breaks his pencil and goes off to ask that arana and spider-woman fix things so he is remembered Overall a pretty fun issue with puzzle mans puzzles.
Kraven is a bit of a coward. Sure, he fronts, bolsters, chases down prey, but when his punch that can stop a charging elephant misses or fails to put down the quarry one time too many he tends to turn and run. Lizard's willing to kill, much more so than Spider-Man. Kraven not going out of his way to hunt Lizard makes sense.
Sure, if Lizard's at large and Kraven is in the area, he'll have to try, to preserve his reputation, but it's more about reputation than passion for Kraven. Even when he died it wasn't in a blaze of glory. It was suicide so that Spider-Man could never get his win back. He's only about maintaining that societal honor, not his own personal honor.
Buldogue's lawyerYeah that's the goofiest part. Unlike the Martha thing (I love how before this. No one remembered that batman and superman mums have the same name but now we all do.) this isn't even in the film but now it's weirdly iconic to him.

I've seen Kraven personally hunt down and engage in a fist fight with Venom. Well technically it was Agent Venom and he thought he was Spider-Man but still.
I wouldn't really call him a coward just because he's not seen hunting Lizard.

Yeah legit, when I saw BVS in the theater, I only then realized their moms have the same names.
I can never unlearn this basic yet obscure fact.
At least the bit in the comic doesn’t have Morbius himself say it.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I think knowing when to fold them is a good hunter skill
Kraven has fought a lot of dumb shit for his hunting fixation but he’s not got higher ideals for doing it. He’s not going to throw his life away except for those times he’s trying to throw his life away
In conclusion, Kraven is a land of contrasts.

He'll clearly go for Devil May Cry.
