This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Yeah but like, this Spider-Man is barely into his first year as a hero. That's like trying to do a Batman who Laughs story when Batman is in his Year One phase.
Superior Spider-Man is a story that relies on the long history of both Spider-Man and Doc Ock you can't just shove it in haphazardly.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"As someone who likes bad guy stories, it's less about the length and more that this adaptation lacks the important history for both characters.
Life Story did an adaptation of it for the final issue and I'd say given Doc Ock's role in the story, it worked out quite well.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"It's funny for all that series insistence on the heavy science it wasn't the most in depth about it.
The show overused Omnidisciplinary Scientist way too much, so every student was an expert in every possible field of science. Specialties, fields, and levels of intelligence did not exist, everyone just works on whatever random-ass thing that's needed for the plot.
Anya was constructing a vibranium using device, later she makes a radar app and Gwen knows how to jury rig a gamma powered device.
It's like how to use one example, in Big Bang Theory all the characters barring Penny are geniuses but like Sheldon is a theoretical physist while Howard is an engineer. They are both scientists, but Sheldon is focused on proving string theory while Howard's job is getting machines to work.
But in Spider-Man every student is a master engineer.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Okay so there are like two versions of the Spider Man 3 game, there’s the PS 2 vs the PS 3 and Xbox versions.
They’re a plot line of Connors becoming the Lizard and Kraven deciding to hunt him down.
In the former, Lizard wins while Kraven wins in the latter.
Just giving context for those who never played them. Because that’s why I brought up Lizard vs Kraven.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"There's a lot of rumors that he's going to be writing a title for DC so that's possibly why he's opening up space for.

As they say to go from one extreme to another is still an extreme.
Nearly everyone in that cartoon was turned into a teen genius. Even characters like Electro (a race-lifyed Francine Frye in this version) is a teen genius who built her own suit despite Electro typically being a regular or downright stupid schlub being the consistent aspect of his character.
And Sandman's daughter of course was also made into a genius who managed to figure out how to gain her dad's powers and control them better than him cause "science".

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Seems to me that if everyone is a science genius, Peter doesn’t really stand out
He doesn’t have to be the specialest boy but his name is in the title
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI remember a review for Spider-Man 2 PS 5 suggesting that Peter should just have focused more on the gadgets while Miles has the electric powers to split the difference between the two.
And TBH, once Peter got the Anti-Venom suit, it was too useful to really switch to Miles for extended periods of time.
Those symbiotes are a pain in the ass to deal with.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Apparently Miles can turn his electricity into a sword now?
Not really sure how that’s more helpful but I saw panels of it happening
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Yup, the one and only.
As expected from the show where every significant teacher is related to the uber science academies.
