This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Honestly it feels like having a supporting cast in the Marvel and DC universes is a dead trope. Apparently the company’s think no one cares if you’re not doing superhero stuff so they push that to the wayside. Besides the butchering of Mary Jane and the walking corpse of Aunt May I don’t think Peter even has a life outside superheroing.
But also yeah let’s start grafting tentacles to everyone, that wasn’t at all incredibly painful for Doc Ock the first time right?

It's gonna be fun on the bun! It's hard to build a supporting cast because every time a run ends, the next writer tends to throw everything in the trash.
The Captain America Sentinel of Liberty book established Steve in a new living situation with a bunch of interesting neighbors and him taking a digital art class to play up his artistic side.... annnd the run got so deep in the weeds with the stupid Outer Circle stuff it barely did anything with it. And then the next run has Steve in a different apartment building with new neighbors.
You'd think Iron Man would have a more stable supporting cast since most of them worked at his business except WHOOPS he divested his business interests.
Eh, I guess Thor is still doing okay in the supporting cast regard. He occasionally drops his entire Asgard cast but they always come back.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe 2017 Spidey cartoon us also very aggressive in having rhe civilians be helpful.
Due to the genius school setting literally every episode's conflict is resolved by a student going "Actually I developed an app for this problem" or jury-rigging whatever plot relevant gadget to save the day.
Hell a lot of the time the episodes would have Spidey getting his ass-kicked for most of the fight while the students build the thing to solve the problem.
Makes damsel scrappies come across as better characters cause at least they don't trivialize the main character.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Peter: I'm pretty sure I had a nightmare like this once.

I admittedly haven't seen this show aside from a few clips on Youtube. That said, this sounds almost like a welcome change of pace from civilians hating Marvel heroes.
Ok, so read ASM#50 and... The sins of the Goblin appear to be their own thing now and controlling Norman, his sane self is still in there somehow. Turns out after they buried Kraven, Peter and Norman both used the Winkler device too
In the epilogue we find Living Brain and Curt Connors teaming together to try and save Spider-Man
Sing along now
The Lizard and The Brain, The Lizard and The Brain, one is a genius, the other's insane

There's not much to summarise really, most of the issue is just one big excuse for Mcguiness to go wild with a Spidey vs Goblin fight. Some of the stuff you already know like the whole secret passwords that trigger the Goblin personalities within Norman and Peter, which came from their use of the Winkler device. At the end of the story, Kraven digs up the coffin with the spears and senses that the sins on the spear aren't there anymore

Ideally, it should last until issue 54 or 55, then the last 5-issue arc will be on Tombstone (and the Living Brain?) for that full circle angle since the first arc was Tombstone and the Living Brain.
(The recurring speculation is that Wells finishes his tenure as ASM writer for 60 issues.)

Paul will live on in our hearts, in his memes, and in a trailer park outside Milwaukee.
If only those Skrull-Beatles from Wisdom didn't get killed off in Captain Britain and MI13's tie-in to Secret Invasion.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's Dictionary

I think MJ hit the hat trick if you consider alternate universes.
She was both a spider and a symbiote in Renew Your Vows, a spider in Mangaverse, a goblin in Ultimate, a symbiote in Spider-Gwen.
I think we should get some Ocks, to vary things up. Mary Jane Ockson.
