This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Batman of Zur En Arh is a whole can of worms that I could get into.
EDIT: Wait, do you not actually know?
BUT SOMEONE CLARIFY WHAT IS GOING ON IN 50 PLEASE! OR I MIGHT ACTUALLY BUY THE COMIC.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"![]()

Yeah, it seems #50 is just a big slug fest for Pete and Gobby. Apparently Ed McGuinness is in top form on art.
And there are back-ups, but they barely matter to Spider-Man. (One has to do with Doctor Strange for some reason?)
Apparently the sins were never on the spear but they're hypnotically triggered?
God, this is worse than running on fumes…

I do not. I get most of my DC information through osmosis and random floppies I get in mystery bundles.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOkay so uhhhhh back in the Silver Age there was this alien version of Batman called the Batman of Zur En Arrh. He's like Superman basically, with his own discount Lois Lane and Lex Luthor.
Now Grant Morrison is a fan of the Silver Age and brought back parts of it in their run, mostly through saying that Batman did a lot of drugs in his early years as part of experiments and the Silver Age was what he saw.
But the Batman of Zur En Arrh was repurposed as a back up personality for Bruce in case he was ever mentally compromised in any way, which happened during the Batman R.I.P. storyline. It was a one and done story idea.
But since nothing is sacred anymore, recently the Chip Zdarsky run brought it back as some kind of Shonen super powered evil side.
The phrase Zur En Arrh is basically a garbled version of his dad's last words before getting shot: "They'd probably throw someone like Zorro in Arkham."

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I don't get people that claim to like the Silver Age and then homage it like this.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's like doing a Silver Age Spidey homage where 'with great power there must also come great responsibility' was a trigger phrase for a Manchurian Agent.
Please tell me that's not the trigger phrase Norman uses.
The Protomen enhanced my life.![]()
Look, even chaos magicians have their off decisions.
But Grant Morrison Zur en Arrh was crazy awesome, fought criminals with a baseball bat, and had Bat Mite as his sidekick.
Zdarsky Zur just doesn't have that same charm.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"You know this storyline could be peak as I saw someone say online.
Imagine. Peter goes along with Norman and pretends to be evil having already predicted this.....only to turn it back around and kick his ass
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."

... Why does Batman do that?
