This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

That's a large part of the point in the movie and explicitly pointed out by Miles with his "are you even a Spider-Man?" comment. It's not an accident that the Spider who proposes the canon event idea to justify his actions is one of the most radically divergent ones who offers evidence against it by virtue of existing; Miguel has an origin, powers, and setup almost entirely unlike most Spiders in the multiverse, to the point that it feels questionable if he's even a totem. He's living proof that there is no script like he thinks there is.

It's the funny thing that the narrative importance of George Stacy stems from Miles and Gwen not having much in the way of supporting cast in the films.
Because the movies are focused majorly on Miles dealing with spider-stuff his non-family friendship are de-emphazied leaving only his immediate family.
So when they wanted to do a "great ally dies" story for Miles and Gwen they didn't exactly much to work with so they laserfocused on the sheer concidence that both of them have fathers who are cops.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
It probably doesn't help that Miles' version of Peter and Aaron both died in the first movie, meaning they were already down two potential allies of his to kill for that purpose. And they don't seem to be willing or desiring to adapt Rio's death in the OG Ultimate universe. So Jefferson is all they got.

I'm not so sure about that. You open the door for other supporting characters what are the alternatives? You want to do story focused on the possibility that Miles' roommate who creates golden balls could be in danger?
It seemed like George Stacy's importance came from the writers wanting to adapt some parts of the original Spider-Gwen story, and that lead to Jeff Morales being linked with it. As someone has stated, Miles' historically has lost someone (his mother before it was reversed) but they went with the other parent instead.

...I just remembered Slotto has a book out this week!
Let's all take a trip to SUPERIOR SPIDER-ISLAND
In the latest Carnage issue, Carnage eats Flash's Anti-Venom Symbiote.
Okay, he's spent all of last year on an anime training arc that included vaccinating himself from Anti-Venom. And he did cannibalize a Grendal before, so yeah he shouldn't have a problem with Flash's. But Flash is undead and only kept animated thanks to the symbiote. Without it he's just a pile of bones. And yet even after Carnage takes it he's seen still as flesh and blood.
#IceBearForPresidentYeah looks like this run is glossing over alot. Also when is someone making a new series starring Flash?
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Ram V going exclusive for DC seriously derailed the Carnage storyline he was building up.
The result is other writers having to continue what he's written, and Gronbekk is clearly more interested in just wrapping this up fast.
Amusingly this is not the first time she took over a book after the sudden departure of the writer. She wrote the rest of Donny Cates Thor after the man had his accident and had to leave the book, leaving her to dive into the story threads he was setting up.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Where was this stated? I remember she shelved the experimentation on Symbiotes (and the Symbiotechs specifically) at the end of her mini but I don't remember anything about Misery itself. She also still had the Symbiote in the Red Goblin mini.

I wonder who Miguel’s George Stacy is.
I don’t think comic Miguel has a cop friend because all of the future cops are corporate cops and hate him
For that matter it’s pretty ironic that Miguel is espousing an idea that all spiders have the same fixed points of canon when creating a Spider-Man that zigged where Peter zagged is what got Peter David the gig over everyone else
