This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

They might as well go all garish considering they already are dragging Spider-Man’s name through the mud. Let’s go crazy, they know no matter how bad things get, the comics will sell.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I got sad. When I saw both the current and last issue of this spider man run was in the top ten comics of the week. At least ultimate spider man was above both.
Like we even knocked off Batman. Thought at least the new transformers comic was in the top ten. That stuff slaps
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Is this a sins thing again?
Even though it started strong, I can never give Spencer's run my love because of the stupid way the Kindred plot wrapped up and the stupid, stupid sins stuff.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt's more that he's too stupid to use his powers to be an Avengers level threat and when he gets close to that, Spider-Man stops him.
I do like his schtick of just wanting to rob banks with all his power instead of just using his power legitimately or aiming bigger. There's just something charming about how stupid Electro is.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Spider-Man: The Animated Series changed a lot of Electro's background (he's related to both the Red Skull and the Chameleon) but it does show us an Electro who's every bit the heavy hitter he could and should be if he was a bit more intelligent and ambitious.
I also believe Peter himself is very aware of just what Electro could do if he applied himself, so it's very good Spidey's managed to put the kibosh on that.
Wasn't there an arc of that Multiversal Web-Warriors comic (with Spider-Gwen and Spider-Girl,etc) post original Spiderverse (comic, not movie) where one version of Electro realized he wasn't as big a deal as should have been, but he figured out how to use his powers to travel to a universe where he met a more successful version of himself who he wanted to help do just that: be a big deal?
I think Smart Max just ended up taking advantage of him, but still.
One Strip! One Strip!![]()
They had multiple years not in the comics thanks to stuff like fox.
Ngl I would love to see one more day actuall reversed. And Peter kicking Mephisto's ass. But alas with current editorial that seems unlikely. Like I;d settle for Peter beating Mephisto and him and Mj not getting back together if he will at least grow up and not be this absolute loser.
I'd settle for Paul dead and gone from all comics henceforth and forevermore.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonOnslaught and Fox have a lot to answer for, screwing over the first family of Marvel like that
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
I do think it's pretty telling that the only Post-OMD stuff people like and want kept around if/when it's reversed are all stuff that totally could've happened without OMD.
I'm torn because while I would prefer them to actually confront it rather than taking the cowards' way out, part of me is like "it's gone too far and gotten too convoluted for that, just pull the fucking trigger".

For Spider-Man's milestone issue, I'm just going to buy more Ultimate Spider-Man comics.
Maybe re-read Renew Your Vows or whatever. That story has all the parts I like about Spider-Man plus Civil War not being a thing.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Think your guess is what I've heard as well, they probably wanted to do more with the idea, but Gang War got in the way of that. Now that Gang War is over, they can go back and do what they originally intended to do before Gang War got in the way.
