This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

He can’t afford todays high priced coffees on his salary of nothing
He just drinks peoples half finished cups, doesn’t he?
Forever liveblogging the Avengers
Coffee Bean was a malt shop that Peter and his buddies hung out at a lot during the Lee-Romita years. It kinda disappeared after said era, largely because Peter only went to it because it was near his college and after he left college there was no reason for him to go there anymore. Not to mention most of the people he went there with began dropping off at the time; Gwen died, Harry left, Flash joined the military, etc..
I will always be morbidly amused on how Spider-Man joining the war effort in Vietnam is a big thing and the subject of much debate in Life Story.
But in the RL era where it happened, the war is pretty much a non-issue, Spider-Man joining it is not ever brought up, and Flash joins with not much debate with the choice ending up making him a more mature character later on.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah, LIFE STORY has some very direct opinions on it and very weird ideas of how it might be improved.
(I imagine if Captain America wanted to stop the war, he'd probably run against Nixon not attack US soldiers)

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. It's Zdarksy's politics. I'm not bashing him or anything, but it makes sense to me that he would have Captain America take the stance of fighting both USA soldiers AND Vietcong soldiers to protect innocents.
While also making Tony Stark a war profiteer and amoral arms dealer.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Yeah, Zdarksy just doesn't have the highest opinion of the system in America, and has a tendency to portray criminals with sympathy. Sometimes I can agree with it, like his Daredevil run and the prison economy system, but other times....not so much.
So I think he would see Captain America running against Nixon to be an ineffectual idea that would only make Steve part of a corrupt system.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Well, this is a Spider-Man thread so I won't go too much into it, but Tony's just a bit of a target for that kind of stuff now.
Civil War was years ago, but I think between that, and the current disdain for the rich tech bros (thanks Elon!), or rather our (perhaps justified in some cases) hatred of the rich in general, it's real easy to twist him into something much worse than he is.
But now back to Spider-Man.
One Strip! One Strip!Steve also apparently served as President in the past of the Marvel Zombies universe.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonHuh. Didn't know he was president in that universe.
Shame about the Zombies kinda overshadowing well....everything. I'd be curious to hear how he did.
One Strip! One Strip! And that's what I'm talking about.
Zombies man. They overtake everything, in universe and out.
One Strip! One Strip!I do find it funny how Zdarsky’s Daredevil ended with Matt releasing all prisoners free and that’s portrayed as a good thing because they don’t have to suffer under the American prison system.
But the people he freed included supervillains who never underwent any rehabilitation or anything cause Matt’s whole attempt at being Fist leader fell apart.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

What is up with Spider Man and cafes.
