This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

If anything, I think the villain Norman's usage most reminds me of isn't Joker, but Ra's Al Ghul or Darkseid. Whenever he shows up, it immediatelt becomes the biggest deal and takes over the story, but he is almost like an event villain in itself and only shows up once in a while to take over for a while.
Then many of his events end without a clear status quo shift, often allowing him to just get to scheming on the next thing.
He's a man given great power, and decides to get even more power at the cost of his own family. Peter is a genuine science major, while Norman is a crooked businessman and part-time scientist, how these two characters work as foils is a major reason why Green Goblin is my favorite Spider-Man villain. You just can't get that same level of uniqueness with Doc Ock or Venom.
Yeah, I agree with this. Though ultimately I prefer Ock as an archenemy to Peter, I do think part of the reason for that is that stories have been progressively getting away with the things that make Norman such a good nemesis to Peter over the years.
Imo what makes Norman so good is that he's basically the Anti-Peter, and I prefer him as a guy who's MO is a lot like Peter's: relying on strength, inventions and devilish intellect to get the job done and hiding behind his outlandish persona. But there's been push after push to make him more... folklore goblin-y, I guess? Magic storylines, constantly turning into a literal monster, etc.
I've recently started really getting into Hobgoblin, because at least he continually keeps that concept while sticking to what he is.
I half-blame the Ultimate Universe. They're the ones who first introduced the idea of "monster Goblin" and it's all gone downhill from there (I'm mostly joking don't hurt me).

1. Well as I and another fan bring up, Mysterio's actions in Guardian Devil were among past events acknowledged.
Event including him getting a girl impregnated and trying to drive Daredevil mad and getting him to off said baby. Refresher though:
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Gwyneth_(Earth-616)
And going after Daredevil then? As mentioned in V2 #7 of Daredevil, it's because after finding out about his cancer, he also noticed a Spider-Man different than the one he planned to seek vengeance on (Ben Reilly). So if not for that knowledge, Spider-Man would be the recipient of his plans and suppose his scheme involved Kristy Watson.
If that had remained the cause, even if Quentin was not to whitewash his crime and didn't commit identity theft to produce his film (Not any less plausible than giving a crook the White House in 2016🤑), would Mary Jane agree to help him if Kristy was one of his victims? Well if yes, it definitely would highlight how her cooperation with him in canon is stupid.
If no, then it means that helping a guy who well involved a 16 year old girl in his planned final scheme didn't hurt MJ's opinion of Beck.
2. And again, even if it was a legit plan to abandoned crime and make right towards any victims still around, Beck would still need to be willing to make his film a cautionary tale about avoiding his path and not romanticizing his crimes.
Like with Spider-Girl The End. Starts in a dystopian future, revealed to be the result of Mayday's clone and sister April Parker/Mayhem being responsible for her death and eventually attempts to control/stop her leads to symbiote super soldiers going out of control.
And the person telling the story to some kids are Mayhem herself who barring acknowledging why Spider-Girl's clone would be messed up, doesn't hold back in admitting how said clone led to a doomed world.
The other heroes being in the know, such as Frank Storm asking why she makes herself the bad guy, April declares cause no one should forget that fact.
Mind you for reasons listed already, MJ should be more inclined not to take part in Beck's project, whether he was sincere or not, the film presented should be him admitting fully to his crimes being what they are.

A new Green Goblin created from Norman's sins will debut in ASM#51 and #52
, which will also feature the Sinister Six

Is this gonna be a supernatural Norman’s sins come to life as a physical Goblin, his sins infect someone else like Queen Goblin, or something he does causes someone to become a new Goblin?
It's gonna be fun on the bun!Would be pretty funny if Paul does become the new Goblin but it's stated that this new Goblin is created from Norman's sins. Granted, maybe create as in turn someone else evil.
So what happens to Norman then? He gets un eviled again? He dies but then comes back in a few years?
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"It seems weird having this follow said sins being returned to Norman and hinting at him turning evil again.
Are they going to be pulled out of him again and put into someone else? That just sounds incredibly repetitive.
Otherwise I see him just... manifesting the sins into a new goblin form or something weird like that.
Oh yeah, that. Man, what if the new Goblin is Peter himself? The glider in #52 looks an awful lot like Peter's and the cover looks like ASM#300 but with "HA!" Instead of "300".
("But Joe! They already did a Peter goes evil arc!")
Yeah. I know. But with how shoddy this run has been, I wouldn't be surprised if they just did it again. That's why I'm hoping against hope that New Green Goblin is Paul.

Conservative propaganda site. They've made a move into trying to make movies, with such big name stars as Gina Carano and, uh, I think that's actually about it.
So, yeah, MJ doing movies for Daily Wire would show how evil and horrible she had become.

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Ooof. Just another bunch of hucksters trying to make a buck from their audience.
Granted, now I'm trying to picture what Spider-Man villains would be happy to go there.
Not Screwball, too cringe even for her.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Haven't had anymore discussion on it since crawlspace forums last years of activity, but where did people stand on MJ's mini (The Amazing Mary Jane) where she was helping Quentin Beck on a film?
It's just the premise fails when he insists on doing it unethically and wouldn't even keep honest about the details of his life while claiming it was a means to atone for his crime. And while a mini for MJ doesn't have to make her perfect of course, it just seems like one trying to celebrate how good of a gal she is shouldn't make her into a sucker.
