This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Mattie did die as you said, then came back during Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy, but then died again.
Julia is in fact Madame Web, last time I checked.
Not sure about Anya, but last I knew she was doing the multiversal Web Warriors thing. No clue what she's up to currently.
One Strip! One Strip!I prefer the old lady Madame Webb. Julia tries too hard to look cool and as a result has no style.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersLet's be frank, a big part of the reason for the various Spider-Women's current statuses is simply because Marvel wanted to clear them all away and make there be one and only one Spider-Woman, which ended up being Jess both because she's the original and because she was one of Bendis' favorites back when he was one of the company darlings and thus was shielded from any attempts to get rid of her. So Mattie is dead, Anya is off in limbo, and Julia was put into a support role previously occupied by OG Madame Web.
Kinda like when DC reinstated Superman's 'last survivor of Krypton' status?
The only one Spider-Woman thing is why Gwen had to change to Ghost Spider
And yet there can be multiple Spiders-Men.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe more innocent and more likely explanation for that is that The Quest For More Synergy trumped the desire for averting Uniqueness Decay in the case of Miles.
The more uncharitable and nasty explanation is that they see him being "the black one" as distinguishing enough.
Doesn't appear Peter has been truthful with his family after all and has kept his identity secret from them. Richard and May are looking over images of Peter in his protoform costume, Richard doesn't think he's real and it's all photoshop, and May is scared of how he looks! Mary Jane heads off to work, but notices a change in Peter and asks if he's been working out. We also learn Peter's powers have given him an increased appetite (10,000 calories eaten per day) and he's sleeping less
So when Jessica was cut from the web of life and destiny, everyone forgot who she and Gerry were, including Roger, who, despite breaking up with Jessica, was still helping to look after Gerry. Since the child was being neglected, Hydra agents were able to swoop in and capture him while Jessica was absent and threw him into an age acceleration chamber. Now he's bitter and angry that his mother always chose heroism over motherhood
Also some writers think it’s irresponsible for superheroes to go out and superhero and risk leaving a child without one of their parents.
Seems weird because a lot of people in dangerous professions have kids. But it was some of the discourse around the office when trying to decide what to do with Peter in the 90s Clone Saga.

That's such a weird attitude. Imagine if people said that firefighters shouldn't be allowed to procreate because they might die on the job.
As to be expected, Nu-Ultimate is blowing 616 Spidey out of the water. The notes about how the spider bite is altering Peter's biology in ways that make him less human, like needing more to eat, is a really cool detail and something I love seeing in Spider-Man comics. Like how older comics often noted that Peter doesn't really move like a normal human, something modern writers often forget.
My guess is that Peter will switch to the red and blues after he realizes the black suit is too scary because it frightens Mayday.
Remember how the logic of DC editorial for not letting Kathy Kane and Maggie Sawyer marry was that superheroes who do dangerous jobs shouldn't marry because of that similar train of thought?

It's Morbin time!
Amazing Spider-Man will get a Blood Hunt
tie-in where he teams with Misty Knight and Lizard to rescue Morbius
