This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

He goes dumpster diving behind the Baxter Building.
The Thing comes out with a broom and chases him away like a raccoon
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, Gwen Stacy was in college so I assume so.
But on the other hand, Gwen Stacy was in college so I assume so.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAlso in the back up stories forming Spider-Man The Lost Years #0, Ben (mind you he didn't have his new name at the time) laments being the clone of a person who doesn't drink.
It's from the what-if Spider-man vs Wolverine, a fair bit before Spider-verse. In this continuity Peter continues to hang with Wolverine and trains to be an assassin, augmenting his spider-sense where someone can't even *think* of attacking him without him knowing, and he just seems capable of predicting the future in general - knowing when Black Widow is going to come visit him, knowing how one of Wolverine's fights will go down to the dialogue and exact injuries, and knowing exactly when cavalry will arrive in a big battle.
Yes. Writers who provided info for Life of Reilly even mentioned Kaine's visions being his Spider Sense, and his Mark of Kaine being an upgrade to being able to well, stick to surfaces and such.
It was a Spider-Doombot he had prepped 3 years prior.
But jokes aside I imagine most multiverse crisis events must fuck with clairvoyants even harder than regular comic plots too.
A new variant cover
for the Web of Spider-Man one-shot is making the rounds.
You can see that both Chasm and the Scarlet Spider are on the cover. Could Kaine end up adopting the Scarlet Spider name while Ben stays as Chasm?
…it's like they want us to Hulk out on them.

Thank you, Scans Daily.
I actually hope that Peter being able to fight off Ock hijacking his body will become a new thing for him. Like, the next time someone tries to do that in another comic book, he just does what he did here and no sells it.
I recall that issue of Marvel Team-up where him and Kamala swapped bodies revealed he'd put a chip in his head to defend from that due to the whole Superior experience, so they kept swapping back and forth instead of staying in one body for a bit.

One Strip! One Strip!![]()
That was such a great issue. Peter having proofed himself against any repeats of the Superior Spider-Man nonsense is hilarious and cool in equal measure.
I'll confess, I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this new Superior run. It almost feels like it's a story arc from some parallel universe where Peter never suffered from all the OMD bullshit. And there's none of the rage baiting garbage from the main book. It's just a cool story about Peter and Bailey dealing with Ock's latest bullshit, and it's pretty fun.
I've mentioned before that the Backstory Invader element was the only thing I didn't like about Bailey, and I'm realizing now that part of the reason it annoys me is that it makes me wish Bailey actually HAD been around as Peter's sidekick for years, since his dynamic with Pete is so good and he's such an unexpectedly great character.

I think it immediately loses any coolness when we only learn this right before Otto reveals he already bypassed them with zero difficulty and without Peter even noticing. Weren't very effective measures at all.
Really this issue wasn't very good to me. Coupled with the last issue, Peter gets easily taken down by Otto, and then even with all his boasting nearly gets beaten within his own mind by Otto only to be saved by the thoughts of his "other" life. Also, this feels way too reminiscent of Life Story's showdown between Peter and Otto.
I will find it funny if this ends with Otto never actually becoming Spider-man again, though. But I'll also wonder what the fucking point was.
Interesting Spider-Man easter eggs in the X-Men '97 trailer
There's a copy of the Daily Bugle in it which has two headlines at the top, "Is Spider Man a mutant?" (no hyphen), and "Hellfire Gala: Text by Eddie Brock, photos by Peter Parker

It makes sense that Peter wouldn't be motivated to train his strength more since he's more of a science guy and that's where his gadgets come in.
Granted, it gets weird when he's supposed to be poor and can spam anti-gravity drones.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"
