This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Animal Black Cat and MJ being a catfish and a water buffalo of all things instead of the more obvious literal black cat and tiger is fucking hilarious and perfectly in-line with the randomness of animal Peter being a pig instead of a spider.
Also just realized how Spider-Ham maybe bristles in a Black Comedy way with the idea of Peter being Jewish that crops up quite a lot.
My face hurts from laughing at this Spider-Man Cartoon Maker
video someone made when they were 6 way back in 1995.
The pinned comment has them discussing its story and it actually does make sense when viewed in that light but it's also completely hilarious and random.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Oh would'ntcha know it, Ultimate #1 is doing gangbusters.
I'd wager a guess that if a promotion included a free issue of the Wells then sales would go down.
Man, if I had a nickel every time an alternate universe Spidey comic with the title of "Ultimate Spider-Man" dethroned "Amazing Spider-Man", the flagship Spidey comic, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryUltimate Spider-Man is off to a really good start, and it is Hickman, but...
We have an issue establishing who Peter is and what his pre-Spidey life looks like. And it does that very well.
But it's way too soon to say what the normal status quo of the series will be. If the Green Goblin kidnaps the Parker kids in issue #3 and drops MJ off a bridge, I suspect we'd all have very different views, and sales would start to reflect that.
I trust Hickman (and, to some degree, Marvel) not to do that, but he can be very brutal to his characters.
Harry as Goblin making a play for Kingpin's empire would make for an interesting call back to 616 Green Goblin's early appearances, back when he was trying to basically forge a criminal empire of his own rather than obsessing over tormenting Peter for Reasons.
x6 While Hickman can indeed be brutal to his characters, I imagine that he's going to take his time before getting to the "breaking" part with this story. Peter will probably get a decent while of superheroing before he suffers a big loss.
