This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Do you remember that level in the Spider-Man PS 1 where the police sent out a small army of cops and an attack chopper to kill Spider-Man?
And do nothing as Venom loudly announces to the rotten apple that he has a hostage?
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Some of those who work forces are the same that hunt heroes.
"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionarySo, I'm not reading Spider-Man, but I can't decide whether people hate Pau because he's badly written (and, from all I've heard, he is) or because he's "cucking" Peter.
And I can't decide whether MJ is "forever ruined" because she genuinely did something wrong or because she decided to date someone other than Peter. Because, need I remind you, Peter dated other women while not with MJ. It's only female characters in Spider-Man stories that stand around moping until a writer decides Peter should grace them with his attention.

MJ has dated other people than Paul after OMD, though.
It's not that she's dated someone else, it's that we got a timeskip where she's being horribly hold to Peter and treating him like garbage right after we ended an arc on them planning to move in together.
And then there's the whole mystery plot of 'What did Peter do?' with the whole MJ treating him like garbage thing making it out like he did something bad... and it turns out the super bad thing he did was:
Try really hard to save her when she was trapped in a hell dimension with no escape and time moving way faster on her end than his.
The monster.
(This is also part of the hate for Paul, because he's part of this absolutely bullshit storyline).
MJ actually dated a far worse person than Paul after OMD, a self-serving celebrity who was caught up in drug running. MJ dumped him when she found out, but the guy still had very unlikeable traits and he didn't seem MJ's type at all, especially one she wouldn't date after all of her experiences with Peter, yet they were trying to portray her as the "bad girl that got away" at the time.
I recall Slott threw in a little 'easter egg' when MJ turned up in BND, she was reading a copy of 'Faust' and everyone at the time thought it was a clue to MJ remembering the deal when it was just Slott having some fun. Spencer would also hint that MJ knew about the deal all along in his run too.

I can't agree with that, Mayday was stunning with the long hair and it provided a great deal of growth for her character, she was blossoming into a grown woman who was beginning to get comfortable with relationships and she resembled her mother more closely, which at the time was sorely needed. I associate that period with a vastly underrated golden age for the character. She still had her best possible ending while sporting that look. God do I miss Wes.

Nice non-condescending response from Nick Lowe to a lengthy letter in today's ASM, the fan writing in made it clear he doesn't think Zeb's run is that good, but praised the conclusion of the "Sins of Peter" arc, Lowe acknowledged Peter and MJ had a powerful scene together, and promoted Ultimate Spider-Man (due out next week) as the letter asked about alternatives for the couple
And now, for something slightly different than usual; in the most recent chapter of Spider-Man: Octopus Girl (the official manga in which Doctor Octopus' mind gets stuck in the body of a japanese girl), the series debuted the design of their version of the Vulture (another japanese girl, because of course), and I wanted to check how comic buffs would like the design.
So, what do you think? I find her quite cool, and she also has explosive "feathers".

spider-man, spider-man, luke, danny, she-hulk, spider-woman, shang-chi, and I think cloak and dagger. the daughters of the dragon were involved but were arrested for vigilantism.
