This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

I just had a terrible thought: what if they want to ship 616-Peter and 65-Gwen?
The Protomen enhanced my life.
I wish they'd let Peter stop screwing up.
As for Spider-Gwen....listen, if you want to use Gwen to get in Peter and MJ's way, then just bring back classic Gwen.
....no wait. I'm pretty sure they aren't gonna do that. They've had a lot of chances and they've never taken it.
This is clearly just because Spider-Gwen is popular and they're once again trying to bank on it.
Unfortunately, her distance from 616 is part of her popularity. That's something they seem to fail to understand.
One Strip! One Strip! That is entirely possible
Do remember that Spider-Gwen is closer to Miles age than Peter's, so i find that unlikely.
If anything, people should be worried they are doing this to get Miles and Gwen together.
Wasn't that just a clone with her memories?

True, but she did get a bit of characterization.
The revelation that she was conscious, found out Peter was Spider-Man and died cursing him was....kinda angsty, but I like that the two got to reconcile, and she came to terms.
And even though she died again, she got to go out on her own terms this time.
For Classic Gwen, that's probably the best anyone who might be a fan of her could ask for, and maybe good enough for those who aren't fans, but have no beef with her.
I mean, she's been completely eclipsed by MJ, Felicia, and another version of herself, so she's lucky she got that much.
Edit:
Yeah, as I said in my other post, if they were going to do something like that, they'd have done it years ago.

One Strip! One Strip!Gwen is a character whose just completely strangled by her own popularity.
Cause honestly speaking she's not that interesting as a character on her own. As the star of her own setting she's fine, but constantly trying to bring her to 616 reduces her to another spider-person who exists purely because of inertia.

I think that while Peter felt they were clones in the long run, they did have all the memories of the original, and had the choice to see themselves as the classic versions or not.
Or they would have if they hadn't all died.
Edit: It seems that no matter the version, Gwen is always having issues. Either she can't get popularity, or she can only get it when disassociated from Peter.

One Strip! One Strip!Which is why i was enjoying Spider-Gwen: Smash. It was focusing on Gwen in Earth-65 and introducing new earth-65 versions of marvel characters.
It bugs me how everyone treats her like the original.

Clones is just one of the ways that comic book snapback happens so clones have to be real people EXCEPT when clone angst is the point.
Tony Stark is a clone of himself by this point. So is Rhodey.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()

Yeah, we talking all those mental back ups that Tony made?
Technically Civil War Tony died and was replaced by a version of himself before Civil War happened.
Calling it now, Norman will be involved.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"I feel like moving away from the art and colour style of the original Spider-Gwen series has harmed the character. Rodriguez and Renzi did great work and gave the book a unique aesthetic that set it apart and got attention. Obviously, there was also the cool factor of seeing different takes on classic Marvel characters, like Matt Murdock as the Kingpin, but comics is a visual medium, so one should never underestimate just how valuable the art can be. Rodriguez and Renzi really defined the character, at least as much as Latour did.
Random side note, I just recently bought a Spider-Gwen hoodie. Her costume is an absolutely fire design, and is probably a good 80% of why she became popular in the first place.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.

Really disappointing, especially after Melissa Flores seemed interested in exploring Earth-65 in Spider-Gwen :Smash and in the upcoming Giant-Size Spider-Gwen.
I was hoping that meant Flores would get a shot at a Spider-Gwen ongoing, but instead they give it to Stephanie Phillips who moves her to the 616.
