This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread
which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Yeah a villain like the Joker needs to have those kind of tailor made weaknesses since it's part of being a well rounded character.
And why I think Spider-Man would just utterly destroy Joker more than anything Batman has ever done.
Now I'm wondering how Bruce would deal with Norman. Green Goblin is basically if the Joker also had access to super powers and Batman esque gadgets while also have the resources of Lex Luthor.
"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Probably.
Unless he went in with a really good plan, or just cheated like hell.
And even then, if Norman got him into melee, it'd get ugly. This is a guy who regularly trades fists with someone capable of lifting 10 tons, so you know Norman dishes it out pretty well himself.
Though I admit, I'd like to see a writer put together a story where Bruce wins. Like, that's the job of the writer isn't it?
Make a story believable.
One Strip! One Strip!I think that classic "control all the gangs in new york" Norman would be someone Batman could take down. That guy got into feuds with nobodies like Crime Master and cared if his identity was discovered.
Modern, Skrull Queen killing Norman? That guy could tussle with the Avengers and not sweat, Batman couldn't do better than Tony could.
Yeah we know that.
I'm sure Bruce knows it too. I'd expect he'd badly lose a first encounter, and only get saved by narrative convenience.
He'd then have to plan around Norman's strength for the next encounter, while also dealing with the fact that he's as well armed (or maybe better) as Bruce himself is.
Like I said, I'd be curious to see how someone would legitimately write him winning.
Maybe he just accepts this one is above his pay grade and calls in the big blue boy scout to flatten Norman in seconds?
Maybe he just jumps in the bat plane and dog fights him?
Or maybe I'm wrong and he does get his ribcage caved in on the first encounter, and the rest of the Bat-family now has to avenge him.
Edit:
You still gotta get past those arms though.
I recall a comic where Daredevil fought Ock, and while he was managing to not get any metal arms to the face, it made me realize that it's dangerous to fight Ock if you can't take a hit from said arms. It's essentially a battle between two glass cannons.

One Strip! One Strip!Well don't forget that Batman has cool toys of his own, Batman could just call in the bat plane/jet and just shoot Green Goblin out of the sky with rubber bullets.
Plus don't forget he's got a tank of a Batmobile. Green Goblin has all sorts of gadgets like bombs to keep up a fight, but he's going to have an uphill battle against the bat jet.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"Actually, Norman's glider might make him more agile than the Bat-Jet, what with the small size and all, but again, it'd be a hell of a fight.
One Strip! One Strip!Pretty sure the Batplane firing a spray of rubber bullets or rubber heat-seeking missiles from miles away would override Norman's agility. You can only dodge so many bullets for so long. Though getting shot out of the sky would be that narrative tool needed to deprive Norman of his glider, putting him on roughly even terms with Batman.

#IceBearForPresidentTIL of both Marvel Universe Live, which features Spidey pretty heavily, and Spider Man Live, which predates Turn off the Dark and acts as an abridged telling of his history.
He also had at least two
rock operas
, Spider Man From Beyond The Grave and Spider Man Rock Reflections Of A Superhero.

The Protomen enhanced my life. It's interesting to get more inside Bailey's head. For all of his quipping and the fun he seems to have in-costume, resents the feeling of responsibility being Spider-Boy gives him. And like Peter, he has a lot of emotional baggage even without an Uncle Ben moment.
And unlike Peter, Bailey's Spider-Sense obligates him to intervene lest he never get rid of the psychic ringing in his head.

Catching up on the Renew Your Vows instalment from last week, I loved that it was all about MJ and peering into her head, I love that her fashion store is called "Jackpot" and MJ says she'll never tire of being a spider-hero. There's even a cheeky cameo from Optimus Prime when MJ hitches a ride on a truck that looks exactly like his vehicle mode
We also learn the mysterious tech-thief that resembles Annie may indeed Hail from an alternate universe where MJ died, possibly because the regent tech in her suit failed her

spider-gwen is moving to 616 for good https://www.marvel.com/articles/comics/spider-gwen-ghost-spider-stephanie-phillips-chris-campana-earth-616
I suspected they had no ideas for Spider-Gwen after all the clone shit and this just makes me more sure
Forever liveblogging the Avengers“ Kicking off with Gwen trapped in the 616 by mysterious otherworldly forces, the young hero’s fresh status quo will open the door to exciting new storytelling opportunities as she struggles to adjust in a world that's not her own, and is forced to confront the tragic legacy of 616’s own Gwen.”
New? They’ve literally done all of this before

I always do love that Joker is consistently written as not liking being laughed at even though his whole gimmick is ostensibly being a comedian. There's a great scene in one comic where he tries to attack Metropolis only to get really mad when Superman actually chuckles at his bad puns and doesn't try to put on a stoic front like Batman does.
